Opis:
The objective of the investigations was to evaluate changes in concentrations of total protein (nitrogen x 6.25), phosphorus and potassium in tubers of two potato cultivars: Rywal and Saturna, as dependent on the application of herbicides (Afalon 50 WP, Azogard 50 WP, Sencor 70 WG, and Apyros 75 WG), after harvest and after 3 and 6 months of storage. Concentrations of total protein, phosphorus and potassium in potato tubers were strongly conditioned by genetic features of the cultivars. The tubers collected from the objects sprayed with the herbicides over the vegetation period contained by 3.7%, 8.1%, and by 3.5% more protein, phosphorus and potassium, respectively, than those nursed exclusively mechanically. The corresponding values in the latter case reached respectively (means for the objects with the use of herbicides) 24.4 g kg-1, 660.5 mg kg-1 and 5351.3 mg kg-1. After 3 and 6 months of storage at 8°C, the content of nitrogen was significantly lower. Similarly, tubers stored at 4oC contained significantly less nitrogen, but not earlier than after 6 months. In contrast, concentrations of phosphorus and potassium did not change significantly over the storage of tubers in chambers with the lower temperature (4°C).
Celem badań było określenie zmian zawartości białka ogólnego (azot x 6,25), fosforu i potasu w bulwach ziemniaka odmian Rywal i Saturna w zależności od zastosowanych herbicydów (Afalon 50 WP, Azogard 50 WP, Sencor 70 WG, Apyros 75 WG), po zbiorze i po3 i 6 miesi¹cach przechowywania. Zawartość białka ogólnego, fosforu i potasu w bulwach ziemniaka różnicowały istotnie uwarunkowania genetyczne odmian.

Opis:
Application of mineral fertilisers, especially nitrogen ones, increases potato yields. On the other hand, it can depreciate the quality of potato tubers and raise storage loss. With bio-fertilisers like UGmax, farmers can limit the need for mineral fertilisers by activating minerals which occur in soil. Microorganisms contained in UGmax, enriched with the start-nutrition medium, process (compost) residue of the last harvested crop, straw, manure break crops (organic fertilisers), etc. Together with soil minerals, they make humus, a natural environment for soil life as well as a ‘store’ of nutrients. The aim of the following, 3-year research was to determine changes in the content of vitamin C, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and crude protein (nitrogen x 6.25) in cv. Satina potato tubers stored for 6 months indoors at the temperature of 4°C, depending on previous application of soil fertiliser (with/ without UGmax), varied organic matter (without fertiliser, stubble intercrop: pea, straw and farmyard manure (FYM) as well as a half dose of mineral fertilisation as compared with the control. The highest vitamin C content was recorded in potato tubers from the treatments with FYM, full NPK and soil fertiliser. With half the dose of mineral fertilisation, UGmax most effectively increased the vitamin C content in potato tubers in the treatments with FYM and pea. The biggest decrease in the content of that nutrient after 6-month storage appeared in tubers from the plots with FYM, 50% NPK and without UGmax (38.5%). The content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and total protein in tubers significantly depended on the dose of mineral fertilisation, where full NPK increased the content of the analysed nutrients. Moreover, the content of potassium was significantly higher in tubers from the plots with farmyard manure (FYM). The use of the soil fertiliser significantly increased nitrogen and total protein in tubers. After 6-month storage in chambers at + 4°C, the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content decreased slightly, on average by 4.9%, 12.4%, 13.1%, respectively.

Opis:
Barley is a cereal of great importance in the crop structure both in Europe and globally. The nutritional value of barley grain is largely shaped by agronomic factors, in particular by fertilisation, which can have a significant impact on the content of individual elements and their quantitative interrelations in grain. The aim of the research was to evaluate yielding, the content of protein and the accumulation of mineral nutrients by the grain of spring barley grown exposed to varied NPK and S fertilisation. The study was based on a three-factor field experiment in a randomised split-plot design with 3 replications. The 1st order factor (A) was fertilisation with nitrogen (n = 3): N1 – 40 kg ha-1, N2 – 80 kg ha-1, N3 – 120 kg ha-1. The 2nd order factor (B) was fertilisation with phosphorus and potassium (n = 2): P1 K1 – 30 kg P ha-1, 80 kg K ha-1; P2K2 – 45 kg P ha-1, 120 kg K ha-1. The 3rd order factor (C) was fertilisation with sulphur (n = 2): S0 – 0 kg ha-1 and S1 – 23 kg ha-1. The study showed that the application of 80 and 120 kg N ha-1 resulted in obtaining a significantly higher grain yield of spring barley and, usually, a higher grain protein content than did the application of 40 kg N ha-1. The increase in yield effected by sulphur fertilisation was significant in relation to the objects without sulphur fertilisation. The highest accumulation of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium was found following fertilisation with a dose of 80 kg N ha-1, as compared with the accumulation with grain from the experimental variant with the application of 40 kg N ha-1. As a result of sulphur application, considerably more nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium was obtained in the grain yield. Sulphur applied in combination with a dose of 120 kg N ha-1 usually caused a significant decrease in the accumulation of the tested macroelements.
