The falling level of manual skills of the young generation is one of issues in the 21st century. The existing society asks for creative individuals who can work independently. On the other hand, the manually skilled ones are needed too. The core question of our research was to find out whether the individuals who score high on the test of creativity are at the same time manually skilled. In our opinion, it is important to be creative and manually skilful at once to become successful in these days. To ascertain the relationship between creativity and the level of manual skills, a ran-dom sample was selected from children from a secondary school and students of pedagogy. The presented research deals with research regarding levels of creativity and manual skills at secondary schools, that means in the Czech Republic kids from 10 to 14 years old, and at the faculty of education of teachers-to-be. Readers are acquainted with results of evaluating the students of teaching and the pupils/learners at secondary schools from the point of creative abilities in relation with the level of their manual skills. There was used the Urban´s test of creative thinking to test creativity, the level of psychomotor skills was tested using Testing batteries for psychomotor skills, which was made for the research purpose by as. Prof. Honzíková. Those research results as well as the unique testing battery for psychomotor skills are introduced.

Artykuł dotyczy diagnozy potrzeb kształcenia zawodowego i ustawicznego w zakresie matematyki. Przedstawia wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w ramach europejskiego Projektu NAMA wśród pracowników i uczniów z sektora zaawansowanej technologii. Celem tych badań było zidentyfikowanie pewnych ogólnych i specyficznych umiejętności numerycznych, które są potrzebne w pracy, a wymagają dalszego kształcenia. We wnioskach nakreślono też pewne rekomendacje, które powinno się wziąć pod uwagę podczas projektowania materiałów dydaktycznych dla tej grupy docelowej.
This paper presents an identification of the needs of vocational training in mathematics. The results of a research within the European Project NAMA are presented. The participants were workers and trainees of the Advanced Manufacturing sector. The research was aimed to identify some general and specific numerical skills which are needed in their work and also the skills for which the participants require more training. Our conclusions include also some recommendations which should be taken into consideration while designing some learning materials for the AM sector’s workers.

The article presents the skills typical to humanists as well as those increasingly sought after by employers in the world of computer scientists. It also refers to the necessity of educating not only the specialists in the field of computer science, but also a sensitive man who can wisely use the knowledge received during his educational process. In the era of the dominant role of information technology, the importance of human–technology relationship is becoming more and more important.

Štúdia prezentuje zámery a ciele riešiteľského kolektívu grantového projektu KEGA 015 PU – 4/2013. Projekt je zameraný na vytvorenie metodiky aplikácie interaktívnej tabule pre prípravu učiteľov nižšieho sekundárneho vzdelávania (technika, fyzika a matematika) na vysokých školách. Metodika má eliminovať dopady transformačných zmien, t.j. vytvoriť podmienky na implementáciu interaktívnej tabule na nové vzdelávacie obsahy s akcentom na rozvoj kľúčových zručností žiakov.
The study presents the aims and objectives of a research team of the KEGA 015 PU – 4/2013 research project. The project aims to create a methodology of application of interactive board in the training of pre-service teachers in lower secondary education (technology, physics and mathematics) at the universities training these teachers. A proposed methodology of application seeks to eliminate the effects of transformational changes, that is to create conditions for the implementation of interactive boards in new educational content with an emphasis on the development of pupils’ key skills.

In the article the Internet collaborative projects and information communication technologies as one of the pedagogical technologies in teaching students’ writing skills is considered. An author exposes one of aspects of preparation of future specialists for international communication, related to integration of traditional and innovative methods of teaching. Szczęście jest istotnym wymiarem funkcjonowania człowieka, a tym samym odgrywa znaczącą rolę także w pracy nauczyciela. Badania wskazują, że szczęśliwi nauczyciele oddziałują na poziom szczęścia swych uczniów, a w konsekwencji na ich osiągnięcia (Bakker, 2005). Celem artykułu było znalezienie uwarunkowań poziomu szczęścia i jego związku z kompetencjami społecznymi i poczuciem własnej skuteczności. Przebadano nauczycieli podkarpackich szkół następującymi narzędziami: Oksfordzkim Kwestionariuszem Szczęścia Argyle’a i Hillsa, PROKOS Matczak i Martowskiej oraz Skalą GSES Schwarzera i Jerusalema. Analiza wyników wskazała na pozytywny istotny związek pomiędzy kompetencjami społecznymi a poziomem szczęścia u nauczycieli przy uwzględnieniu mediacyjnej roli poczucia własnej skuteczności pomiędzy wspomnianymi zmiennymi.
Happiness is an important dimension of human functioning, and thus plays a significant role in the work of the teacher. Research indicates that happy teachers affect the level of happiness of their students and, consequently, their achievement (Bakker, 2005). The aim of the article was to find conditions for the level of happiness and its relation to social competences and general self-efficacy. Teachers from Podkarpackie were examined with the following tools: Oxford Happiness Questionnaire by Argyle and Hills, PROKOS by Matczak and Martowska and GSES Scale by Schwarzer and Jerusalem. The analysis of the results indicated a positive, significant relation between social competences and the level of happiness, and the mediating role of self-efficacy among these variables.

At the beginning of this article we characterize the current technological education in primary schools affected by the negative impact of school reform (2008–2012). We then further describe of the methodology of field of educational research: aims, methods, hypothesis and research sample. Why you need a teacher in high school, just as the carrier and transmitter of information? But it is in this capacity he is much inferior to many other sources of information such as books and computers. Higher education institution serves not only and may be not so much for the transfer specialized knowledge but for the development and reproduction of specific cultural group, the most important element of which is itself a specialist. He is characterized as a representative of a particular culture not only a specific set of knowledge and skills, but also a certain worldview, life attitudes and values, especially the of professional conduct and others. So the teacher not only sends the student knowledge and professional skills, and attaches it to a specific culture, and that this culture was developed and reproduced needed live people, live human communication. This truth more than a hundred years ago formulated by K. D. Ushinsky: “Only a person can act on the development and definition of personality, only nature can be used to form the character” [Ушинский 1984: 78–83].

The paper is devoted to understanding the influence of economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability on education. It was concluded that national economic competitiveness is linked to intellectual and capital and is driven by knowledge, and innovation. Sustainable development requires an understanding of the complexity of the global ecosystem and of creative problem-solving to find solutions to ‘wicked problems’ such as that of reconciling economic activity with a sustainable environment. It was highlighted the following overarching needs to: give a higher profile to the notion of interdependence: how closely one part of an ecosystem is linked to and depends upon another; making humanity more aware of its own fragility on this planet; highlight the role of cooperation: problems faced will only be resolved by international cooperation; develop the notion of a global public good: environmental sustainability can only be achieved by trans ceding particular national or individual needs.

Nauka na kierunku biotechnologia na Uniwersytecie Rzeszowskim daje możliwość praktycznego wykorzystania wiedzy teoretycznej zdobytej podczas studiów do pracy laboratoryjnej. Education majoring in biotechnology at the University of Rzeszów gives the practical use of theoretical knowledge acquired during the study for laboratory work. Thorough knowledge of laboratory techniques makes graduates easier to adapt to current labor market requirements. The paper presents the research of viability of cells culture in vitro as an example of practical application of theoretical knowledge acquired during lectures.

W pracy przedstawiono postępy w realizacji nowego programu studiów na kierunku matema-tyka stosowana, studia inżynierskie, pierwszego stopnia, kierunek praktyczny, prowadzonego przez Wydział Informatyki Politechniki Białostockiej od roku akademickiego 2020/2021. Program kierunku został zmodernizowany i zorientowany na praktyczne zastosowania, od początku stu-diów, poprzez kształcenie z użyciem języka Python. Wprowadzono do programu studiów szereg przedmiotów programistycznych oraz zastosowano innowacyjne podejście do nauczania przed-miotów matematycznych wraz z dodaniem pracowni specjalistycznych do tych przedmiotów. Nowy model nauczania ma na celu zwiększenie retencji i motywacji studentów zarówno w zakre-sie poznawania kolejnych narzędzi matematyki i analizy danych, jak i przyszłych sukcesów w pracy zawodowej. Praca zawiera przegląd programu nauczania na wspomnianym kierunku, a także wyniki wstępnej ankiety studentów I semestru wraz z jej analizą.
This article presents the progress made so far in the implementation of the new curriculum in the field of applied mathematics, engineering studies, practical truck, provided by the Faculty of Computer Science of the Bialystok University of Technology from the academic year 2020/2021. The program of the course has been modernized and oriented towards practical applications, from the beginning of studies, through teaching with the use of the Python language. A number of program-ming subjects were introduced into the curriculum and an innovative approach to teaching mathema-tics subjects was applied with the addition of specialist laboratories to these subjects. The new model of teaching is aimed at increasing the retention and motivation of students both in terms of learning more tools in mathematics and data analysis, as well as in terms of future success in their professional work. This work contains an overview of the curriculum in the aforementioned field, as well as the results of the preliminary survey of the 1st semester students along with its analysis.
