Opis:: In this work, algorithms have been used to compare the reliability measure of helicopter structure critical points. Reliability index, Cornell’s reliability index and Hasofer-Lind’s reliability index have been calculated and analysed. Inputs to the algorithms, stress and strength were generated by using the Markov chain model based on actual flight records of helicopters. With this approach, results of methods for determining the reliability of critical points of a helicopter’s structure are properly founded.

Opis:: The paper is composed of two parts, in this part the multi-state homogeneous „m out of n” systems with reserve components are defined and their multi-state limit reliability functions are determined. In order to improve of the reliability of these systems the following methods are used: (i) a warm duplication of components, (ii) a cold duplication of components, (iii) a mixed duplication of components, (iv) improving the reliability of components by reducing their failure rate. Next, the effects of the systems’ reliability different improvements are compared.

Opis:: In the paper the basic notions of the ageing multistate systems reliability analysis are introduced. The multistate system reliability functions are defined and the mean values of the multistate system lifetimes in the reliability state subsets and in the particular reliability states are determined. The notion of the multistate system risk function and the moment of the system exceeding the critical reliability state are introduced. Further, in the developed reliability models, it is assumed that the system’s components have the multistate Weibull reliability functions with various parameters in their different reliability state subsets. Under this assumption, the proposed multistate system reliability models are applied in maritime transport to the reliability analysis of a bulk cargo transportation system and its reliability function, moreover other main characteristics are determined.

Opis:: Basic notions and agreements on reliability of three-dimensional nanosystems are introduced. The asymptotic approach to the three-dimensional nanosystem reliability investigation is presented and the nanosystem limit reliability function is defined. Auxiliary theorems on limit reliability functions of three-dimensional nanosystems composed of large number of independent nanocomponents are formulated and the classes of limit reliability functions for a homogeneous series and series-parallel nanosystems are fixed. A model of a three-dimensional series and series-parallel nanosystem with dependent nanocomponents is created and the class of limit reliability functions identical with the class in the previous case is fixed as well. The asymptotic approach to reliability evaluation of exemplary three-dimensonal series and series-parallel nanosystem with dependent nanocomponents is presented and its accuracy is discussed.

Opis:: Series-“m out of n” systems and “m out of n”-series systems are defined and exemplary theorems on their limit reliability functions are presented and applied to the reliability evaluation of a piping transportation system and a rope elevator. Applications of the asymptotic approach in large series systems reliability improvement are also presented. The paper is completed by showing the possibility of applying the asymptotic approach to the reliability analysis of large systems placed in their variable operation processes. In this scope, the asymptotic approach to reliability evaluation for a port grain transportation system related to its operation process is performed.

Opis:: The paper is concerned with mathematical methods in asymptotic approach to systems reliability analysis. The complexity of the reliability investigation of large-scale systems is proposed to be approximately solved by assuming that the number of system components tends to infinity and finding the limit reliability function of the system. Some general results in the form of auxiliary theorems and examples of limit reliability functions of homogeneous and regular series-“m out of k” systems with exponential and Weibull reliability functions of system components are presented.

Opis:: The paper is concerned with the application of limit reliability functions to the reliability evaluation of large systems. Two-state large non-repaired systems composed of independent components are considered. The asymptotic approach to the system reliability investigation and the system limit reliability function are defined. Two-state homogeneous series, parallel and series-parallel systems are defined and their exact reliability functions are determined. The classes of limit reliability functions of these systems are presented. The results of the investigation concerned with domains of attraction for the limit reliability functions of the considered systems and the investigation concerned with the reliability of large hierarchical systems as well are discussed in the paper. The paper contains exemplary applications of the presented facts to the reliability evaluation of large technical systems.

Such expectation is seldom realistic since it eventually breaks down, particularly when the system (or product) nowadays is operating in a complex random operating environment. Strong warranties are becoming more useful tactics for developers to attract potential customers especially due to the slowing economy. This talk discusses the research challenges and trends, and the reflections of the perception between the warranty, the reliability and the systemability.

Opis:: In the paper the results of the reliability investigation of multi-state homogeneous parallel-series systems with independent and dependent components are presented. The multi-state reliability functions of such systems and other reliability characteristics in both cases are determined under the assumption that their components have exponential reliability function. Moreover the asymptotic approach to the reliability evaluation of these systems is also presented and the classes of limit reliability functions for the considered systems in both cases are fixed. Finally, the presented theoretical results are applied to the reliability evaluation of the shipyard rope transportation system. The comparison of the multi-state exact and limit reliability functions of the considered transportation system under the assumption that its components are independent and under the assumption that its components have failure dependency is performed and illustrated graphically.

Opis:: The Toyota crisis is tearing off the brand image of quality and reliability and therefore it is logical to question whether the dominating position of probability theory, on which Japanese quality and reliability engineering practices are established, should be examined. In general, reliability analysis is an exercise under uncertain environment. Foundationally speaking, uncertain modeling is a matter of choosing what kind of uncertain measure as its standing point. In this paper, we introduce the uncertainty reliability concept on the platform of the axiomatic uncertain measure theory and compare it to probabilistic reliability concept based on Kolmogorov’s probability measure theory, on which the traditional quality and reliability engineering is established. It is expecting that a foundational work can be established for a more rigorous reliability engineering and risk analysis under general uncertainty environments.

Opis:: The main goal of this paper is to create the reverse logistics model that uses reliability theory to describe reusability of product parts with assumption that recovered components are used in production process but they aren’t as good as new ones. The model allows to estimate the potential profits of the reusing policy in a production and gives the base to optimize some of the process parameters: the threshold work time of returns or the warranty period for products containing reused elements.
