Opis:
The paper presents the analysis and discussion of gender recognition based on human face picture. The research combines different features selection techniques with the set of softcomputing classifiers. We are looking for not very complicated, fast and sensitive approach to create the theoretical basis for real safety systems where the correct “on-line” gender recognition is necessary. We start from the already known differences between the female and male face. This is the key point to tune the preprocessing mechanisms. We propose the quite classic classifiers, but we focus on sensible correlation between the feature extraction and the actual classification. The significant set of the results are discussed and the best solutions are pointed. All tests were realised based on the well known base of face pictures with added set of our own collection. The proposed solution can be an essential tool for the monitoring systems, safety guards and systems to point the dangerous situations based on video data.

Opis:
The paper describes the analysis and discussion of the transport network systems in case of the critical situation that happens during ordinary work. The formal model is proposed –the point of view combines hardware and software resources as well as task definition and dispatcher role. The types of failure, procedures and methodology to reduce the consequences of the system faults are pointed and categorized. The functional and reliability measures are defined. The approach to modeling is based on the system behavior observation. The definition of the critical situation sets are created by reliability, functional and human reasons. No restriction on the system structure and on a kind of distribution describing the system functional and reliability parameters is the main advantage of the approach. The proposed solution seems to be essential for the owner and administrator of the transportation systems.

Opis:
The paper presents an approach to complex analysis of sophisticated Discrete Transport Systems (DTS) using softcomputing. The proposed methodology can efficiently substitute the classical approach especially since dependability parameters of the system are mostly approximated by experts instead of classical sources of data. On the other hand we can try to combine reliability and functional aspects. The paper describes the multicriteria scientific field of the Discrete Transport Systems and shows the way how the softcomputing can be in use in the sensible way. Moreover, results of the numerical experiment performed on a test case scenario related to the reliability and functional aspects using proposed methodology are given. The approach allows reducing the problem of assumptions of reliability distributions and – this way – seems to be very interesting for real systems management and tuning.

Opis:
The paper proposes a method of reliability and functional analysis related to discrete transport systems. The proposed analysis is based on modelling and simulating of the system behaviour. Monte Carlo simulation is used for proper reliability and functional parameters calculation. The simulator is built using Scalable Simulation Framework (SSF). No restriction on the system structure and on a kind of distribution is the main advantage of the method. The paper presents some exemplar system modelling. The authors stress the problem of influence of the reliability parameters for final functional measures (required time of delivery) – the key value to calculate the availability of the system. They also propose to measure the economic quality of discrete transport system by “profit function”. The presented problem is practically essential for defining an organization of vehicle maintenance and transportation system logistics.

Opis:
The paper presents a system which to make proper poker decision in situations provided by end user via image of the online poker table. The system provides feedback and reasoning behind decision made. The main goal is to minimize influences of errors and unwanted factors on each step so final decision could be accurate and useful in as many cases as possible. The idea is to use softcomputing technologies as neural networks for image recognition and expert system for decision making process. The system - able to parse poker table image - could be used by poker player for self-study on example on his/her own past in-game situations. Image is screenshot of the interface that is provided by online poker room to a player, so all information available to a player will also be available for further processing. The proposed solution can be an essential tool for the monitoring and verification of card game rules systems and to point the incorrect or illegal situations based on video data.

Opis:
The paper presents the analysis and discussion of video detection data usage for discrete transport systems safety improvement. The Autonomous Vehicles (AV) and the Augmented Reality (AR) research in connection with a Driving Assistance (DA) are presented. This article is going to show where the border between those two fields of interest is and how they are going to influence on the future of automotive. The proposal of the AR system – based on soft-computing methods used for an object classification problem – is given. The input data are taken from the real traffic monitoring system located at the set of roads in Poland. Data from the monitoring devices are used to analyze the travel time of vehicles – elements of the transportation system. The travel time model taking into account the real road situation is built. The proposed solution can be an essential tool for the owner and administrator of the transportation systems

Opis:
The paper presents a novel approach to system dependability problem. The analysed systems and networks – characterised by different sets of features – are considered as a union of all their resources essential for the predicted tasks realisation. The system dependability is discussed with respect to the occurrence of incidents and treats that may cause to damage the system resources and – in consequence – to the collapse of the executed tasks. The maintenance policy system is based on two main concepts: detection of unfriendly events and system responses to them. The proposed analysis is realised from the user’s point of view, focusing on functional features described by business services available in the system.

Opis:
The paper presents an approach to critical situations analysis related to discrete transportation systems (DTS). The critical situation is understood as sudden shortage of some system recourses resulting in the transportation system performance degradation. The analysis is realized based on availability calculation of DTS. The system is described by the formal model, which includes reliability and functional parameters of DTS as well as human resources – drivers and management system. The availability and average availability of the system, defined in a functional way, is discussed as a function of different essential parameters of DTS. The proposed analysis is based on the modelling and simulating of the system behaviour using Monte-Carlo approach. The paper presents some exemplar systems – based on real Polish Post DTS – modelling and results.

The paper presents a new approach to reliability and functional analysis of sophisticated complex systems using fuzzy logic. We propose to use such methodology since dependability parameters of the system are mostly approximated by experts instead of classical sources of data. Presented approach show different idea – modeling system using the unified structure – in functional sense. We assess the reliability of the system by accumulated down time. Fuzzy logic based reliability analysis, as well as Computer Information System and Discrete Transport System modeling and simulation are presented.
