    Opis:
    The article is concentrated on jazz inspiration in the Czech culture of the 1920s, espe-cially its infiltration to the Czech poetry. Contemporary manifests, anthologies, essays and critics has been researched so as to detect the influence of this new musical phe-nomenon over the Czech avant-garde art. The inspiration by jazz music then have been discovered in concrete books of poetry by E. F. Burian, V. Nezval, J. Seifert, J. Voskovec and J. Werich. The jazz motives as ‘jazz-band, black, saxophone etc.’ as well as imitation of a blues form were found there. In conclusion, the author points to the fact that the jazz music has become the symbol of the new revolutionary art, identified with the left-wing avant-garde, and it has brought a new view of reality, methods and functions of art.

    Opis:
    In our text, we start to imagine three Polish literary authors from Czech Těšín Silesia (Henryk Jasiczek, Adolf Dostal and Jan Pyszko) from the standpoint of the relationship of literature and music. These poets have entered into the literature after the II world war and belong to different literary generations. Methodologically assumes the considerations of the Polish author Andrzej Hejmej on the topic of the relationship of literature and music. In the text of our studies are investigat-ing significant musical themes in literary texts and considerate also richly symbolic mu-sic at various levels of the literary language of the text — and, in particular in the area of lexical and euphonically. These events are the characteristics of a literary text. Striking phenomenon is the cooperation with local musicians and composers, poets, who are themselves also, donate non-professional music (Jasiczek, Pyszko). Some of the po-ems were setting for choir, piano accompaniment for the vocals with. Local authors also cooperated with the folk art files (Gorol) or amateur choirs (Melodia). The author of the study is also dedicated to the inclusion of these poets, not only to the regional, but the broader national literary context is the context of the creation — Czech Těšín Silesia authors with poetry Leopold Staff or Tadeusz Różewicz.

    The article is concerned with the generic specifics of the romaneto, a literary mode established by Czech writer Jakub Arbes, taking as its vantage point the way in which fantastic storylines operate within it. Arbes’s romanettos can be characterized by the interplay of gothic writing and science fiction. The study focuses on his most wellknown romanetto Newton’s Brain (Newtonův mozek). The analysis aims at a comparative investigation of the stolen brain motif related to the popular story of Einstein’s stolen brain and its literary repercussions.
    Artykuł dotyczy wyznaczników romaneto – gatunku literackiego zapoczątkowanego przez czeskiego pisarza Jakuba Arbesa – przyjmując za punkt wyjścia sposób, w jaki rozwijają się w nim fantastyczne fabuły. Romaneta Arbesa charakteryzuje wzajemne oddziaływanie powieści gotyckiej i science fiction. Artykuł koncentruje się na najbardziej znanym romaneto Mózg Newtona (Newtonův mozek). Analiza skupia się na porównawczym rozpatrywaniu motywu ukradzionego mózgu w relacji do historii o ukradzionym mózgu Ensteina i jej literackich reperkusjach.

    Opis:
    Wilhelm Przeczek is a Polish writer who has lived in Karviná, the Czech Republic, since he was born in 1936. He is a member of a Polish minority and he has aimed his literary output at its members and at readers in Poland. Translations into the Czech language are aimed at readers in the Czech Republic. Having made a protest against the intervention of the Warsaw Pact armies into Czechoslovakia in August 1968, W. Przeczek was not allowed to publish and he was dismissed – he had worked as an editor of a Polish paper “Głos Ludu”. In 1970–1977 he worked as an actor, stage director, and dramatic advisor of a puppet show theatre Bajka in Český Těšín, the Czech Republic. In his article, the author deals with poems by W. Przeczek’s on the subject of journeys about Europe. The starting point is local, but a global result.
    Autor poświęca uwagę pisarzowi polskiemu z czeskiego Śląska cieszyńskiego, rodakowi z przemysłowej Karwiny, który później zamieszkał na Podbeskidziu w Bystrzycy nad Olzą. Zajmuje się więc poetyckimi krajobrazami w twórczości jednego z najwybitniejszych poetów zaolziańskich nie tylko przemysłowych i górskich, ale również z podróży autora po Czechach i za granicą.
