Opis:: Die sprachliche Kommunikation beruht stärker als bisher angenommen auf einem routinemäßigen Sprachgebrauch. Als typisches Beispiel für wiederkehrende Formulierungen lassen sich Kollokationen anführen. Einerseits handelt es sich hierbei um Wortkombinationen, die durch die außersprachliche Realität bedingt sind, die andererseits aber auch einzelsprachspezifisch, konventionell sein können und Erscheinungen der Sprachnorm darstellen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden die wesentlichen Merkmale von Kollokationen diskutiert, und zwar in Bezug auf das Sprachenpaar Deutsch-Polnisch.
Komunikacja językowa polega w większej mierze, niż dotąd zakładano, na zrutynizowanym użyciu języka. Jako typowy przykład wciąż powtarzanych sformułowań posłużyć mogą kolokacje. Z jednej strony współwystępowanie pewnych kombinacji wyrazowych uwarunkowane jest rzeczywistością pozajęzykową, z drugiej jednak kolokacje stanowią typowe dla danego języka, skonwencjonalizowane zjawiska z zakresu normy językowej. Artykuł przedstawia najistotniejsze cechy kolokacji w odniesieniu do języka polskiego i niemieckiego.
Language communication is more based on routine language use than it has been assumed so far. Collocations can serve as examples of constantly repeated phrases. On the one hand the co-occurrence of some word combinations is determined by extralingual reality but on the other hand collocations are typical and conventional for a given language phenomena belonging to the language norm. The current paper discusses the most essential criteria of collocations in reference to the German and Polish languages.

Opis:: Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest problematyce opisu jako formy wypowiedzi mówionej i pisanej na przykładzie wypowiedzi/tekstów jednego ucznia z niepełnosprawnością w stopniu lekkim. Została w nim przeprowadzona ocena wypowiedzi pisanej na podstawie profilu grafomotorycznego, ocena zasobu leksykalnego oraz ocena struktury wypowiedzi. Analiza wypowiedzi mówionej oparta została na realizacji takich procedur, jak generalizacja zdarzeń, przestrzenność, prezentatywność, atemporalność. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań potwierdzają obniżoną sprawność ucznia z niepełnosprawnością umysłową w stopniu lekkim w posługiwaniu się opisem zarówno w formie ustnej, jak i pisanej. Niedostatki w realizacji poszczególnych wypowiedzi wynikają ze stanu niepełnosprawności intelektualnej, która ogranicza rozwój sprawności językowych i komunikacyjnych jednostki, ale też wielu innych uwarunkowań.
The article is devoted to the issues of description as a form of spoken and written utterance as exemplified by the utterances/texts of a mildly intellectually disabled school student. The written utterance was assessed based on the graphomotor profile, assessment of the lexical resource and the evaluation of the structure of the utterance. The spoken utterance was analysed based on the realization of such procedures as generalization of events, spatiality, the ability to present, and atemporality. The results of the studies confirm the reduced ability of mildly intellectually disabled students to use description both in the oral and written form. Deficiencies in the realisation of individual utterances result not only from the state of intellectual disability, which restricts the development of an individual’s linguistic and communicative skills, but also from many other determinants.

Opis:: In the paper, various notions of the logical semiotic sense of linguistic expressions – namely, syntactic and semantic, intensional and extensional – are considered and formalised on the basis of a formal-logical conception of any language L characterised categorially in the spirit of certain Husserl's ideas of pure grammar, Leśniewski-Ajdukiewicz's theory of syntactic/semantic categories and, in accordance with Frege's ontological canons, Bocheński's and some of Suszko's ideas of language adequacy of expressions of L. The adequacy ensures their unambiguous syntactic and semantic senses and mutual, syntactic and semantic correspondence guaranteed by the acceptance of a postulate of categorial compatibility of syntactic and semantic (extensional and intensional) categories of expressions of L. This postulate defines the unification of these three logical senses. There are three principles of compositionality which follow from this postulate: one syntactic and two semantic ones already known to Frege. They are treated as conditions of homomorphism of partial algebra of L into algebraic models of L: syntactic, intensional and extensional. In the paper, they are applied to some expressions with quantifiers. Language adequacy connected with the logical senses described in the logical conception of language L is, obviously, an idealisation. The syntactic and semantic unambiguity of its expressions is not, of course, a feature of natural languages, but every syntactically and semantically ambiguous expression of such languages may be treated as a schema representing all of its interpretations that are unambiguous expressions.

Opis:: The purpose of the research the results of which are presented in the article is to show the language dynamics taking place under the influence of internet communication and in internet communication, on the example of selected syntax structures representing two mechanisms contributing to language dynamization, namely substitution and multiplication. In the article, based on quantitative corpus research in a diachronic approach, impact of internet communication, with observable distortion of the language standard, on the general standard Polish language is proven. An example of that impact is variability of the syntax structures selected for the research in scientific texts, that is in texts representing the highest correctness standards, subject to multiple linguistic corrections.
Celem badań, których wyniki są przedstawione w artykule, jest pokazanie dynamiki języka, jaka dokonuje się pod wpływem komunikacji internetowej i w komunikacji internetowej na przykładzie wybranych konstrukcji składniowych reprezentujących dwa mechanizmy dynamizujące język: substytucję i multiplikację. Na podstawie kwantytatywnych badań korpusowych w ujęciu diachronicznym w artykule dowodzi się wpływu komunikacji internetowej, w której widoczne jest rozchwianie normy, na standardową polszczyznę ogólną, czego przykładem jest wariantywność wybranych do badań konstrukcji składniowych w tekstach naukowych, a więc w tekstach o najwyższych standardach poprawnościowych, poddanych wielokrotnej korekcie językowej.

Opis:: The author discussed the concept of communication strategies and the two most popular research approaches: interactive and sociolinguistic. She presented strategic activities of students learning Polish as a second language, which appeared during the classes held at the Polish Language Center for Foreigners at the University of Lodz, both during the observation of the lesson and during the classes conducted by the author. These strategies included: achievement strategies (paraphrase, comparison, simplification, use of synonyms, neologisms, and language code switching), help request, non-verbal means, and avoidance strategies. The author also discussed examples of negotiating meanings and the use of modern technologies as a helpful tool in applying communication strategies.
Autorka omówiła pojęcie strategii komunikacyjnych oraz dwa najpopularniejsze podejścia badawcze: interakcyjne i socjolingwistyczne. Przedstawiła działania strategiczne uczących się języka polskiego jako obcego, które pojawiały się podczas zajęć odbywających się w Studium Języka Polskiego dla Cudzoziemców Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego zarówno w trakcie obserwacji lekcji, jak i podczas prowadzonych przez autorkę zajęć. Wśród omówionych strategii znalazły się: strategie osiągnięć (parafraza, porównywanie, uproszczenie, stosowanie synonimów, tworzenie neologizmów oraz przełączanie kodu językowego), prośba o pomoc, użycie środków niewerbalnych oraz strategie uniku. Autorka omówiła również przykłady negocjowania znaczeń oraz wykorzystywanie nowoczesnych technologii, jako narzędzia pomocnego przy stosowaniu strategii komunikacyjnych.

Opis:: The article discusses the selected elements of the style presented in Letters from Africa by Henryk Sienkiewicz. The analysis of the lexical-phraseological and the syntactic layers of the text demonstrates that in Letters from Africa the artistic language is consciously created and functional. Its characteristic, stylistic feature is the extensive use of colloquial language, fixed, idiomatic phrases, proverbs and proverbial expressions. Therefore, such use of lexicon and phraseology refers to the traditional trends of the Polish language, the vivid language of everyday communication. What strikes the readers is the quantitative as well as the qualitative abundance of this type of marked units of language. This verbal layer, inextricably linked with the everyday language of the Polish people, is subject to the artistic syntactic rules characteristic of the rhetorical style. The skillful combination of two stylistic features is a testimony to the high value of the text: on the one hand, simplicity and moderation in the lexical-phraseological layer; on the other hand, abundance and poetic elegance which are present mainly in the syntactic layer. Thus, Letters from Africa reflect the language of common, everyday communication in an uncommon study.

Opis:: Niniejszy artykuł jest poświęcony komunikacji zdalnej na lekcji języka obcego. W tekście przedstawiono różne aspekty kształcenia na odległość jako formy porozumiewania się ucznia i nauczyciela oraz omówiono wykorzystanie tej wiedzy w kontekście edukacji językowej. Na podstawie wyników ankiet i wniosków z wywiadów przeprowadzonych z uczniami drugiego i trzeciego etapu edukacyjnego zidentyfikowano możliwości, problemy oraz zagrożenia związane z lekcjami online. Zaproponowano również sposoby pracy z uczniami na zajęciach języka obcego. Praca dowodzi, że komunikacja zdalna (mimo swoich ograniczeń) ma duży potencjał w kształceniu językowym.
This article is devoted to the subject of remote communication in foreign language education. The text presents various aspects of distance learning as a form of communication between the student and the teacher. It also discusses this knowledge in the context of language teaching. According to the results of surveys and interviews conducted with students of the second and third levels of education, the author identified potential risks, problems, and issues relating to online classes. Additionally, methods to assist students in foreign language classes were discussed. This study shows that remote communication (despite its limitations) can be very effective in language education.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na następujące pytanie: w jaki sposób ukazane są w memach osoby, które w sytuacjach oficjalnych czy w trakcie prowadzenia samochodu były pod wpływem alkoholu? Jako materiał badawczy posłużyło 130 memów, które dotyczą takich popularnych osób, jak: Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Kamil Durczok, Beata Kozidrak i Daniel Olbrychski. W artykule scharakteryzowano mem pod kątem prezentowania zachowań nienormatywnych. Zwrócono więc uwagę na jego intencjonalność i sytuacyjność, a także na kulturotwórczy charakter (w szczególności wpływ na kształtowanie wizerunku postaci). Przedstawiono również mem jako nośnik pamięci. Następnie dokonano analizy wizerunku artystów i polityka. Zwrócono uwagę na środki wizualne i językowe, które służą deprecjacji.
The purpose of the article is to try to answer the following questions: How do memes show people who were under the influence of alcohol in official situations or while driving a car? 130 memes were used as research material, concerning such popular people as: Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Kamil Durczok, Beata Kozidrak and Daniel Olbrychski. The article characterizes the meme in terms of presenting non-normative behavior. Therefore, attention was paid to its intentionality and situational character, as well as its culture-forming nature (in particular, its influence on shaping the image of the character). The meme is also presented as a storage medium. Then the image of artists and politician was analyzed. The attention was paid to visual and linguistic means that serve to depreciate.

Opis:: The psychoorganic syndrome is a deviation in the mental state due to damage or dysfunction of the brain structures. It is associated with the occurrence of mental disorders manifested in the behavioral, socio-emotional, cognitive and therefore also communicative sphere. The article describes the case of a 68-year-old patient who was diagnosed with the psychoorganic syndrome. The changes observed in her relate to significant dysfunctions in the areas of competence, interaction, communication and language.
Zespół psychoorganiczny to odchylenie w stanie psychicznym, uwarunkowane uszkodzeniem lub dysfunkcją struktur mózgu. Wiąże się on z występowaniem zaburzeń psychicznych, przejawiających się w sferze behawioralnej, społeczno-emocjonalnej, poznawczej, a także komunikacyjnej. W artykule opisano przypadek 68-letniej pacjentki, u której rozpoznano zespół psychoorganiczny. Obserwowane u niej zmiany dotyczą znacznych dysfunkcji w zakresie kompetencji i sprawności interakcyjnych, komunikacyjnych i językowych.

Opis:: Obywatele Ukrainy są zdecydowanie najliczniejszą grupą cudzoziemców w Polsce, stanowiąc nieco ponad 80% ogółu osiedlających się w kraju obcokrajowców. Jednym ze skutków ruchów migracyjnych do Polski, związanych przede wszystkim z obecną sytuacją w Ukrainie, jest zwiększająca się liczba dzieci ukraińskich w przedszkolach, szkołach podstawowych czy średnich. Ruchy migracyjne determinujące kontakty językowo-kulturowe, których efektem jest zjawisko dwu- lub wielojęzyczności, stawiają przed logopedami i terapeutami nowe zadania, a dwujęzyczność (wielojęzyczność) zdecydowanie wpisała się w krąg zainteresowań logopedycznych. Celem artykułu jest usystematyzowanie, na podstawie literatury przedmiotu oraz własnych doświadczeń, kompetencji logopedy w zakresie wspomagania dzieci ukraińskich uczących się języka polskiego jako obcego/jako drugiego, omówienie logopedycznych form wsparcia tych dzieci oraz wskazanie wyzwań, jakie stoją przed współczesną logopedią w omawianym zakresie. Logopeda w ramach wsparcia przede wszystkim przeprowadza proces diagnostyczny i stawia diagnozę (rozpoznanie logopedyczne) dziecka bilingwalnego, ustala strategie rozwijania sprawności językowych i komunikacyjnych, rozwija sprawności językowe i komunikacyjne dziecka, poprzez ćwiczenia językowych sprawności systemowych i komunikacyjnych. Aby wsparcie logopedy w procesie nauczania języka polskiego jako obcego/jako drugiego było najskuteczniejsze, logopeda powinien mieć dostęp do wystandaryzowanych i znormalizowanych, rzetelnych narzędzi diagnostycznych przeznaczonych dla osób bilingwalnych oraz stworzone procedury, metody i narzędzia niezbędne do procesów terapii logopedycznej osób dwu-/wielojęzycznych, a to jest najważniejszym zadaniem stojącym przed współczesną logopedią.
Ukrainian citizens are by far the most numerous group of foreigners in Poland, accounting for just over 80% of all foreigners settling in the country. One of the consequences of migration flows to Poland, mainly related to the current situation in Ukraine, is the increasing number of Ukrainian children in the public school system. Migratory movements determining linguistic and cultural contacts, which result in bilingualism or multilingualism, present new tasks for speech and other therapists. The phenomenon of bilingualism and multilingualism has definitely become of great interest in speech therapy. The aim of this article is to systematize, on the basis of the literature on the subject and case studies, the competence of a speech therapist in the field of supporting Ukrainian children in the classroom. It is also important to discuss the logopedic forms of support for these children, and to point out the challenges facing contemporary speech therapy in this area. As part of the support, the speech therapist primarily carries out a diagnostic process and diagnoses a bilingual child, establishes strategies for developing language and communication skills, develops the child’s language and communication skills, through systemic and communication language skills. In order for the speech therapist’s support in the process of teaching Polish as a foreign language / as a second language to be the most effective, the speech therapist should have access to standardised and reliable diagnostic tools for bilinguals. This will enable him/her to develop procedures, methods, and tools necessary for the speech therapy processes of bilingual/multilingual learners. It is one of the most important tasks facing contemporary speech therapy.

Opis:: Radio as a sound medium, as elaborated in the typical definition of it, constitutes an integral component of the human audiosphere. Human culture is, at source, oral in nature. Orality, a huge category that operates outside of individual academic disciplines, is that which links in a synergy the human being, culture and language, as well as linguistic communication. The author, starting from these ruminations, shows how the theory of orality created by Walter J. Ong may constitute a stable instrument for the description of language and linguistic-communicative behaviours on radio, and enable us to interpret numerous phenomena of radio discourse.

Opis:: Предметом исследования в статье являются роль и значение средств невербальной коммуникации на уроках иностранного языка. В связи с тем, что средства невербальной коммуникации играют значимую роль в установлении межличностных контактов, а кроме этого, в значительной степени повышают уровень межкультурной компетентности, они должны являться неотъемлемой составляющей программ обучения иностранным языкам. Необходимость обращения внимания учащихся на данную составляющую диалога вызвана отличиями в использовании и интерпретации кодов невербального общения представителями разных культур, так как именно в данных семиотических системах (экстралингвистеческих и паралингвистических, кинесике, окулесике, проксемике, такесике) заложена специфика данной культуры. В статье излагаются установки для введения в программу обучения иностранному языку невербальных средств передачи информации. Авторы, основываясь на многолетнем опыте преподавания русского как иностранного, представляют способы введения данных средств в процесс урока иностранного языка и предлагают последовательность этапов работы с невербальными компонентами высказывания. К статье прилагаются результаты небольшого исследования, проведенного в разных группах филологического направления.
The article focuses on the role and importance of non-verbal communication in foreign language lessons. Non-verbal communication tools play a significant role in establishing interpersonal contacts and, in addition, significantly increase the level of intercultural competence, they should be an integral part of foreign language teaching programmes. The necessity of paying attention to this component of dialogue is caused by the differences in the use and interpretation of non-verbal communication codes by different cultures, as these semiotic systems (extralinguistic and paralinguistic, oculesics, proxemics, tactics) are based on the specificity of a particular culture. In the article are presented the guidelines for the introduction of non-verbal media into the foreign language teaching program. Based on many years of experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language the authors present a ways of introducing these means in a foreign language lesson and offer a sequence of steps to work with non-verbal components of speech. The results of a small-scale research conducted with different groups of philological students are attached to the article.

Opis:: W artykule autorka przedstawia i omawia wybrane strategie komunikacyjne o charakterze kompensacyjnym oraz interakcyjnym. Analizie poddane zostały transkrypcje nagrań pochodzące z pięciu prowadzonych przez siebie zajęć na poziomie A2. Biorący udział w badaniu cudzoziemiec (Anglik) charakteryzuje się pozytywnym podejściem do stosowania działań o charakterze strategicznym, co widoczne jest w jego wypowiedziach. Autorka prezentuje, jak może wyglądać komunikacja z częstym wykorzystywaniem strategii komunikacyjnych.
In this article, the author presents and discusses a few compensatory and interactive communication strategies. The language material comes from five classes at the A2 level. These classes were recorded and the transcripts were analyzed. The researched English student demonstrates a positive approach to the use of different strategic actions. These actions can be observed in his interactions. The author shows that using compensatory and interactive communication strategies may have positive influence to the process of communication.

Opis:: The term Rhetorische Kommunikation (engl. rhetorical communication, vgl. McCroskey 1968 „An Introduction to Rhetorical Communication“) was introduced into German–language scholarship by Brigitte Frank-Bohringer in her 1963 book of the same title and was subsequently firmly established by Helmut Geißner. It is currently used in a variety of contexts when the rhetorical dimensions of language are the focus of interest. It appears both in rhetoric manuals as well as in academic texts on the topic, including those with an empirical perspective. This contribution aims to illuminate the epistemological background to this terminology by focusing on a number of linguistically relevant communication approaches. Underlying this discussion is the differentiated use of the concept as outlined here, as well as a holistic view of spoken language, grounded in a theory of action. Finally, the practical value of the term Rhetorische Kommunikation, will be emphasized, underlining the fact that its content serves as a provable basis for the systematic and goal–oriented use of rhetoric as a theme in the teaching of German as a foreign language. The following discussion proceeds from the concept of Rhetorische Kommunikation.

Opis:: The paper presents arguments for treating language as a tool for cognition and communications. It articulates an opposite view to the one which considers language as an independent module shaping cognition and thinking. According to the conception of the socially – based cognition the mind is a controller of the adaptive behavior, and communication is a strategic action to which language is subjected. The model of the linguistic categories arranges words according to the level of their abstraction; and a number of research results presented in the paper indicate that there is a relationship between the level of abstraction of the words used and the inference related to events, emotions and memory. Recognizing language as a tool for cognition and communication leads to the acceptance of the necessity to widen the language awareness. This kind of thinking is supported by the presented results of research on the relationship between linguistic categories and the stereotypes, communication of the interpersonal distance and the process of asking questions and giving answers.
