Opis:
The article is classifying and presenting the art market indexes, thus supplementing the knowledge about indexes and considering different measuring methods of return of investment on this market. It is also organising the knowledge about methods of measurement, such as indexes, which can be regarded as benchmarks. Due to the universal usage of indexes the benefits could be used both by individual and institutional investors, as well as the art collectors or analysts. Thanks to the provided ranking and indexes, conclusions on the advantages and disadvantages of each benchmark are presented and so are questions constituting the basis for future empirical research. Indexes are determined as one of the key measurement tools for testing investments, risks, volume of trade and market trends on the new, but still little known art market in Poland.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to assess the possibilities and ways to implement the idea of sustainable development in a market economy. Economic and social development encounters limitations due to weaknesses and market failures. The concept of sustainable development indicates mainly development goals. Their achievement, however, requires paying attention to the conditions and methods of operation of the entities. Sustainable development will take place under market economy conditions. From the point of view of the neoclassical economics, the basic direction of activities should be creating conditions for the market implementation of sustainable development goals. Institutional economics indicates the need to build a system of norms and values that are appropriate to the idea of sustainable development. Only their dissemination creates conditions for the creation of formal institutions which are the part of the market system. However, it is advisable to combine these methods. The implementation of sustainable development in the management of environmental resources and environmental protection requires increasing the scope of defining property rights and assigning them to specific entities. On this basis, one can create the market mechanisms and expand the scope of market instruments for an environmental protection. Such solutions are consistent with the logic of the market economy and will be understandable as well as acceptable to entities.

Opis:
The existence of information asymmetry is one of the reasons for introduction of quality standards, whose primary aim is to minimize this phenomenon. There can be observed an increasing acquisition of this function by e-intermediaries who, beside being a part of distribution channel, provide actual and potential customers with information about goods and services. Quality standards may be provided either by state (public regulation) or by industry organizations (self-regulation). The aim of this article is to examine the relationship between two forms of quality standard introduction and proliferation of e-intermediaries market on the hotel market case. To examine whether e-intermediary market differs in countries with both forms of quality standard introduction we examined capital cities of European Union countries and compared number of hotel establishments and their availability on the popular e-intermediaries websites. Comparing those numbers in 27 EU capitals enabled to negatively verify the hypothesis that proliferation of e-intermediaries differs significantly in those two groups of countries. This leads to the assumption that the activities of e-intermediaries cannot be seen as a substitute for quality standards but have a rather complementary function.

The aim of this article is to present how aid is offered to the unemployed and how it is registered in Poland. Special attention is given to profiling as the new kind of aid offered. The procedure was introduced elsewhere already in the 1990 s whereas in Poland it has been in use for two years now. The paper is based on the oficial statistics provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the National Bank of Poland, and interviews with civil servants working with the unemployed. The analysis points to the need for diversification of the kinds of profiling aid for the unemployed.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present the idea of the functioning of Fin-Tech firms in the market for financial services, with particular emphasis on consumer finance. Globalization and technology cause changes in a number of markets, goods or services. An interesting situation exists in the financial markets, where there are not only institutions subject to restrictive regulations (eg. banks), but also many non-banks. Banks emphasize the concept of a level playing field for all market actors who provide similar services and take similar risks. The question is whether banks are sufficiently agile, flexible and cost competitive. Banks do not always keep up with changes, technology companies can therefore take over part of their clients. However, banks enjoy greater confidence, as safe traders, which are subject to regulation and supervision by the state. The activity of Fin-Tech firms raises questions about the level playing field, the assessment of competition and cooperation, as well as the desirability of subjecting these new competitors regulation of banks, insurance companies, investment firms, payment institutions and electronic money institutions.

Opis:
For years ongoing discussion whether education should be more academic or professional, whether and to what extent higher education is designed to meet the labor market and social needs, how to bring universities closer to the labor market and thus, to potential employers, and finally how to influence schools (and candidates) to educate in the fields and professions with high demand in the labor market. Currently observed problems are evidence of the lack of a holistic view of the labor market and education. The aim of the study was to confront last years students' notions of the labor market and its requirements with the reality found by graduates. The implementation of the study was divided into 3 stages. The first phase was completed in 2010 on a sample of 325 last years students, the second in 2012, resulting in collecting 240 declaration of consent and participation and the third in 2013, which ended with collecting 90 surveys form graduates. There is the social belief that the ability to find a satisfactory place at unsustainable labor market varies for different social categories. The situation is different for men and women, for urban and rural areas, for low and narrowly skilled workers. The consequence of such thinking was (and to some extent still is) the belief that having a higher education is an important asset in searching for a (better) job and in extreme perception is a guarantee of its acquisition. As a result of such belief is clearly perceptible lack of employment of university graduates or lack of satisfaction due to getting a job incompatible with the interests and qualifications. In this situation taking the perspective of students/graduates under consideration and collating of their professional and educational aspirations with regional labor market needs and responsiveness are important components.

Opis:
The objective of the paper is to analyze the skills and attitudes of Generation Z in Poland in order to update and systematize data on features of all generations that are active in the Polish labour market. The issue deserves research due to the specific perception of work and business by young people, which, by affecting their motivation, forces companies to modify their operations. Employee engagement programmes must be adjusted to the skills and preferences of individualists, who are proficient in Internet use, but inconsistent in their decisions or endeavors and not prepared for teamwork. Short attention span and short-lived interests of young staff, which require a kinesthetic, multimodal working environment, may disrupt a traditional company culture. Communication with Generation Z, used to ongoing communication and co-creating, is a serious challenge to managers. Low levels of soft skills and economic literacy may undermine the benefits from excellent adaptability of the young generation. Tabular summaries of generation-based characteristics will be presented. The paper is based on the literature on the older generations as well as reports and statistics on Generation Z.
