    In the automotive industry the use of modern technology and provision of the highest quality product and related services is the most important element of rivalry between global corporations and motorcycles. In a competitive struggle for the recognition of its brand in the automotive market global organizations continuously raise the requirements for quality management systems, so that the finished product meets all the standards in terms of safety, quality and satisfying the ever-growing needs of customers - present and future drivers and passengers of cars. ISO/TS 16949 quality management system is presented in the paper. A framework for customer specific requirement as well as preventing problems is shown.

    The increasing demand on components obtained using powder metallurgy is driven by economic changes that have turned product quality into the most basic criterion which affects the interest in a component and its successful use. The improvement in quality should be expected in the beginning of the planning of the technological process and selection of adequate raw materials. High requirements concerning product quality management and production improvement stimulates the development of the current automotive industry where sintered steels represent the highest percentage of products. The multiphase sinters investigated in the study were prepared from two types of water–atomized steel powders: 316L and 409L. Optical microscopy, X–ray phase analysis and examinations of microhardness were performed in order to determine the microstructure and basic properties of sintered steels. The main assumption for this study was to analyse the microstructure and mechanical properties of sintered steels used for manufacturing of various car parts.

    The paper presents partial results of qualitative analyzes conducted on the production line in the automotive industry. The subject of analyzes is the safety element for motor vehicles and meeting the quality requirements. The quality requirements that the manufacturer must meet are based on customer guidelines (automotive concern) for components manufactured for first assembly. The presented analyzes relate to the identification of production discrepancies and the results of statistical analyzes for the cutting process and component control for one type of cable. This work contains basic issues in the field of production management for elements intended for the automotive market, detailing the basic applicable rules and standards in this field. It also contains the results of the analysis and evaluation of the production process of the company operating on this market. A preliminary analysis of the causes of production problems and statistical analysis for the indicated process was presented.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki wykorzystania dwóch narzędzi zarządzania jakością tj. diagramu Pareto-Lorenza oraz diagramu Ishikawy celem analizy i oceny jakościowej cięgna hamulca ręcznego do samochodu. Analiza wykorzystująca narzędzia miała na celu wykrycie najczęściej występujących przyczyn niezgodności hamulce ręcznego. Pogłębiona analiza umożliwiła identyfikację przyczyn, co pozwoliło na zaproponowanie odpowiednich działań korygujących.
    The article presents the results of the use of two quality management tools, ie the Pareto-Lorenz diagram and the Ishikawa diagram, in order to analyze and evaluate the quality of the handbrake cord for the car. Analysis using tools was aimed at detecting the most common causes of non-compliance of the handbrake. An in-depth analysis made it possible to identify the causes, which allowed to propose appropriate corrective actions.

    Prezentowany artykuł to case-study z doskonalenia procesu produkcyjnego poduszek powietrznych, gdzie do zainicjowania doskonalenia wykorzystano wyniki z procesów kontroli wizualnej badanego wyrobu. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy struktury niezgodności badanego wyrobu, na podstawie których zidentyfikowano niezgodności krytyczne. W tym celu wykorzystano diagram Pareto-Lorenza. Najczęściej występująca niezgodność badanego wyrobu to rysy i zadrapania na powierzchni poduszki powietrznej, która to niegodność wykrywana jest za pomocą kontroli wizualnej. W celu analizy niezgodności krytycznej wykorzystano takie metody, jak: 5W1H, 5WHY. Metoda 5W1H pozwoliła lepiej rozpoznać badany „krytyczny” problem. Z kolei dzięki metodzie 5WHY, a dokładniej jej wersji w postaci diagramu WHY-WHY, wskazano na przyczynę źródłową problemu, w odniesieniu do której zaproponowano działania zaradcze. Przeprowadzone analizy dowiodły, że dzięki analizie wyników z kontroli jakości (kontroli wizualnej) można ograniczyć występowanie problemów jakościowych, a tym samym udoskonalić proces produkcyjny.
    The presented article is a case-study on improving the production process of airbags, where the results of visual inspection processes of the analysed product were used to initiate the improvement. The article presents the results of the analysis of the non-conformity structure of the tested product, on the basis of which critical nonconformities were identified. For this purpose, the Pareto-Lorenz diagram was used. The most frequent nonconformities of the analysed product are scratches on the surface of the airbags, which is detected by visual inspection. To analyze the critical nonconformities, methods such as 5W1H, 5WHY were used. The 5W1H method allowed to better recognize the studied "critical" problem. In turn, thanks to the 5WHY method, and more precisely its version in the form of the WHY-WHY diagram, the root cause of the problem was indicated, for which remedial action was proposed. The analyzes carried out proved that thanks to the analysis of the results from the quality control (visual inspection) it is possible to limit the occurrence of quality problems and thus improve the production process.

    Every year approximately 70 million passenger cars are being produced and automotive industry is much bigger then just passenger cars. The impact of automotive industry on the environment is tremendous. From extracting raw materials through manufacturing and assembly processes, exploitation of the vehicle to the reprocessing irreversible, extensive environmental damage is done. The goal of this study is to show how implementing eco-design processes into supply chain management can reduce the impact of automotive industry on the environment by e.g. reducing the use of the fuel, increasing the use of recycled materials. Focus is on evaluation of current state, environmental impacts and potential improvements for design, raw materials, manufacturing and distribution and end-of-life phase.

    The article presents research results in a scope of evaluation importance in visual control usage in the production processes of enterprises from automotive industry. The significance of visual control in a production process was characterized. An innovative BOST questionnaire survey was described as a tool for transformation of Toyota's management principles into questions. The survey questions from BOST study were described, which is used in evaluation of the visual control importance with reference to the second Toyota's management principle (question E3). The analysis of respondents preference in ranging factors of the second Toyota's management principle was conducted using comparative evaluation of Thurstone’s method, as well as the degree of similarity between these factors was indicated. A subjective factor was assessed by employees of automotive industry as one of less significant in the production process.

    Opis:
    Armoring civilian vehicles requires specialized knowledge and experience that many armoring companies lack as they are not direct or indirect suppliers of vehicle manufacturers. This limits their access to automotive quality and manufacturing certifications or detailed vehicle designs, which can result in loss or malfunctioning of automotive components during the armoring process. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the challenges faced by Brazilian civilian armoring companies and identify opportunities for improvement in their production processes. Qualitative research was conducted using a questionnaire-based survey of eight specialized firms in Brazil, as well as literature related to DFMA, design for manufacturing and assembly, quality, automotive, and ballistic references. The study results in clude detailed armoring operation steps, qualitative survey reports, and helpful literature references for armoring practitioners to generate a standard armoring procedure for different vehicle models. Following best practices in automotive and armoring procedures collected in the survey responses can standardize and enhance ballistic protection operations while preserving the original vehicle systems’ functionalities and warranties. This work provides valuable information for armoring companies to improve their operations and interfaces with automotive systems and follow automotive and ballistic references.
