Opis:
The manufacturing of machine parts with additive methods (AM) is of significant importance in modern industry. The development of 3D printers and all 3D printing technology is impressive. The ability to make parts quickly and relatively cheaply with AM gives excellent opportunities in terms of e.g., shortening the production preparation time. Proper selection of printing parameters allows for a significant reduction of printing time and production costs. Unfortunately, this has different consequences. Due to the course of the printing process and the parameters that can be set, the same product produced with different parameters has different mechanical properties - mainly different strength. This paper presents the impact of 3D printing parameters on the strength of manufactured parts. Strength tests were carried out on samples made in accordance with DIN EN ISO 527-1:2019. The samples were printed in technology FDM from three different materials, i.e. PLA (completely biodegradable), PETG (recycled material), and Smart ABS (material with minimal shrinkage). The tested samples were made in three levels of print filling - 10%, 30%, and 60% and with different types of filling - line, mesh, and honeycomb. A series of static tensile tests were carried out to determine the strength of the samples produced with different printing parameters. Thanks to the obtained test results, it is possible to select the optimal printing parameters depending on the forecast load of the manufactured parts.

Opis:
Risk analysis of personalized medical devices, such as prostheses, is a challenging task due to the complexity of technological and geometrical issues. The paper undertakes a process of risk analysis for upper limb prostheses for adult patients, individualized by 3D scanning and produced by additive manufacturing. The analysis was performed to systematize the process and its steps, as well as diagnose certain problems, in order to achieve future devices with correct fit and function, produced in as few iterations as possible. The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis of Process (PFMEA) method was used. In the results, main process risks were identified: the problems are mostly caused in stages, where operator’s decision or activity is to be performed, regarding socket length, offset and suitable lining. The main prevention activities were determined – human involvement in the decision process should be minimal and the intelligent models should be adjustable to as many patient cases as possible. In consequence, future steps for process optimization were determined – larger base of patient cases is necessary to acquire and study, to gather data for model and process improvement.

Opis:
The process of design, development and production of cars has been strongly influenced by the use of computer technology since the 1980s. The philosophy of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) approaches has become an integral part of the automotive industry. These technologies have shortened the innovation cycle in car model lines to 6-8 years. In the middle of this cycle, the so-called facelift of the model line is employed, when there are certain shape changes of the exterior and interior of the car or the equipment is expanded with new or improved elements. CAx systems enable changes to be made in such a short period of time. This article deals with the design of a fully parametric CAD model of a car interior element. Specifically, it is part of the door pull handle. The advantages of connecting a fully parametric model to a spreadsheet were pointed out. This link has a significant impact on the speed and flexibility of change processes on product models. The model was created in the Part Design volume modeler in the CAD system CATIA V5 Release21, which is used mainly in the automotive and aerospace industries. The parameters of the model were linked to the MS Excel spreadsheet.

The aim of the present article is the assessment of technical shear resistance (technological shear) of orthopedic screw made of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V, produced using incremental technology in the process of 3D printing process. The first part of the work presents incremental techniques in production engineering. The second part of the present work contains a specification of the 3D printing process of samples as well as the description of the used material. The fundamental part of the article is composed out of endurance tests for orthopaedic screws as well as the analysis of the obtained results and conclusions. The method of incremental production SLM using SLM 280HL metal printer was used during the technological process. The resistance tests were performed using ZWICK/ROELL Z150 machines. Identical endurance trials were performed for monolithic bars made of titanium alloys (of bar core size ) made on a wire electric discharge machine Sodick SL600Q for comparative purposes. The obtained test results enabled comparative assessment of the value of shear resistance Rt in the conditions of technological shear. According to the performed tests, the shear resistance Rt of orthopaedic screws is nearly 33% lower than of monolithic bars of the same core size.

Counteracting the social and educational exclusion of visually impaired people is an important issue in the area of knowledge transfer, also in the area of cultural heritage. Visually impaired people get to know the world in an organoleptic way, where the leading cognitive factor is touch. This type of cognitive method cannot be used in museology and historical architecture. Current attempts to solve this problem lead to the use of additive technology understood as 3D printing. The paper presents a modified procedure for obtaining digital 3D models with the use of Autodesk Inventor version 2021, dedicated to creating scalable replicas of architectural objects using additive technology. The applied procedure uses the decomposition of the object into its components and the acquisition of data from terrestrial 3D laser scanning (FARO Focus 3D scanner, Faro Scene software). Printing in the Fused Filament Fabrication technology of a designed minaret representing the architecture of the Timuridian period (minaret of the Ulugh Beg Madrasa in Samarkand, Uzbekistan), originating from the Silk Road area, was carried out due to the size of the facility, divided into several parts. The obtained replica of the minaret was presented to people with simulated pattern dysfunction and tested in a pilot test. The obtained results confirmed that the decomposition of the object for the purposes of 3D modelling, the diversified scaling of individual elements to make real 3D replicas of the digital model facilitated the kinesthetic recognition of the relevant architectural object for the respondents.

Opis:
3D printing of historic architectural objects reduces the entire digital model by up to 200 times. With this scaling of the digital 3D model, many important architectural and decorative details are lost, and some elements lose their stiffness. Printed 3D models are now used to create specialised museum exhibitions that allow visitors to get to know them kinesthetically. This ability to touch objects applies not only to visually impaired people, but to all interested visitors. The paper describes the preparation of a digital 3D model (D3DM) dedicated to 3D printing by decomposing the real model into sub-models and using different scaling values for individual elements. The practical part presents three-dimensional modelling of historic architectural objects of Lublin and their replicas made on 3D printers in the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology. Virtual models designed in this way retain important details of objects and are also scalable as a whole, which allows for obtaining printed objects of various dimensions.

The pre-operative preparation of a surgeon is increasingly often extended to individual patient’s anatomical models depicting the affected organ and the existing lesion in relation to the surrounding structures (e.g. blood vessels). Among the models, there are models of the skeletal system, in which the FFF technology is used. The models of parenchymal organs are more difficult to reproduce due to the material limitations in the FFF technology, which is why alternative technologies such as PolyJet and SLA are used. Due to the high price of models, they are employed less frequently, especially in the Polish hospitals. The research presented in the article deals with the modification of the existing methodology of rapid pre-operative models production with the use of various low-budget rapid manufacturing techniques, which use materials of low hardness, similar to the human soft tissues. The aim was to create a methodology and determine the parameters of materials that allow for the cheap production of functional pre-operational aids.

This paper presents results of tribological examinations of chosen automotive subassemblies made of plastics by using of 3D-printing. The influence of chosen technological parameters, i.e. plastic temperature, the velocity of printing head, and the height of deposited simple layer on wear of samples produced of PA 12 polymer rubbing against hard anodised sliding guide of car sunroof is defined. It was found that samples printed at minimal temperature (t = 240°C), a minimal height of deposited simple layer (h = 0,1 mm), and a minimal (40 mm/s) and maximal (v = 60 mm/s) deposition velocity show the minimal wear. Examining under similar conditions (p = 0.4 MPa, v = 2.5 m/s, reciprocating movement) of samples made by using press moulding cut out from car sub-assemblies for a comparison were carried out. As a result of experiments, it was concluded that the wear intensity of roller stretching drive belt made from composite (PA15GF) and the wear intensity of the belt itself during sliding, caused by seizure of bearing, is so high that menaces engine with damage.
