Opis:
The paper presents a solution of motion planning and control of mobile robot in a two-dimensional environment with elliptical static obstacle based on hydrodynamics description. Theoretical background refers to solution of Laplace equation using complex algebra. The method of designing complex potential with respect to stationary elliptical obstacle and stationary goal is formally shown. Next, the planning motion problem is extended assuming that the goal is moving. Then results of motion planning is used in order to design closed-loop control algorithms which is based on decoupling technique. Theoretical considerations are supported by numerical simulations illustrating example results of motion planning and control.

This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a new smartphone application that is capable of real-time object detection using both stationary and moving cameras for embedded systems, particularly, the Android smartphone platform. A new object detection approach, Optical ORB, is presented which is capable of real-time performance at high definition resolutions on a smartphone. In addition, the developed smartphone application has the ability to connect to a remote server and wirelessly send image frames when moving objects appear in the camera’s field of view; thus, allowing the human operator to only view video frames that are of interest. Evaluation experiments show a capability of achieving real-time performance for high definition (HD) resolution video.

Modern robotics brings up a variety of new challenges. Industrial-only times are gone forever. Nowadays, by performing many diversified services, robots turned out to be a part of our everyday life. There is no doubt that they should be able to interact with this new miscellaneous environment seamlessly. Along with the number of requirements, the importance of software increases. While gaining more autonomy, besides standard motion control, a wide range of cogntive tasks has to be executed simultaneously. It is quite obvious that complex systems with a lot of independent modules and many functions to perform need flexible and reliable sofware solutions. This article takes a Real-Time Operating System as an answer to the problems of the new generation robotics.By comparing selected features, it provides an evaluation of the most popular commercial and non-commercial solutions. Paper describes the key characteristics that should be taken into consideration during the design process and presents several examples of their successful robotic applications, including our own choices for decentralized controllers.

Opis:
Due to the heavily software-centric nature of modern reactive and time-critical systems, there is an increasing demand for efficient development of high quality Real-Time Software-Intensive Control systems (RSIC). The study discussed in this paper is focused on the creation of international curriculum framework centred on RSIC - this important aspect of computer-system-control-software engineering education. The study explores the mechanism for involving students from multilingual, geographically separated institutions in a coordinated educational experience. It exposes them to the problems, methods, solution techniques, infrastructure, technologies, regulatory issues, and tools in the domain of dependable real-time, safety-critical, software-intensive control systems. The ultimate objective is the creation of a model RSIC curriculum, which can be used by engineering schools both in the USA and the EU.

The estimation of a vehicle configuration in its environment is mostly solved by Bayesian methods. Interval analysis allows an alternative approach: bounded-error localization. Such an approach provides a bounded set of configuration that is guaranteed to include the actual vehicle configuration. This paper describes the boundederror localization algorithms and presents their complexity study. A real time implementation of the studied algorithms is validated through the use of an experimental platform.

Opis:
A novel method for real-time coordinated trajectory planning and obstacle avoidance of autonomous mobile robot systems is presented. The desired autonomous system trajectories are generated from a set of first order ODEs. The solution to this system of ODEs converges to either a desired target position or a closed orbit de.ned by a limit cycle. Coordinated control is achieved by utilizing the nature of limit cycles where independent, non-crossing paths are automatically generated from different initial positions that smoothly converge to the desired closed orbits. Real-time obstacle avoidance is achieved by specifying a transitional elliptically shaped closed orbit around the nearest obstacle blocking the path. This orbit determines an alternate trajectory that avoids the obstacle. When the obstacle no longer blocks a direct path to the original target trajectory, a transitional trajectory that returns to the original path is defined. The coordination and obstacle avoidance methods are demonstrated experimentally using differential-drive wheeled mobile robots.

Opis:
This paper presents a proposal for structuring real-time programs in a way that improves their reliability. Basically, it consists of five constructs that have been designed after the model of classical "structured programming", together with a generalized way of dealing with resources. After some considerations about reliability these constructs are presented and explained. Then, a test implementation for two different programming languages and operating systems is briefly described. Finally, some pieces of code give an impression of the character of the method.

Presently the interaction of robots with human plays an important role in various social applications. Reliable tracking is an important aspect for the social robots where robots need to follow the moving person. This paper proposes the implementation of automated tracking and real time following algorithm for robotic automation. Occlusion and identity retention are the major challenges in the tracking process. Hence, a feature set based identity retention algorithm is used and integrated with robot operating system. The tracking algorithm is implemented using robot operating system in Linux and using OpenCV. The tracking algorithm achieved 85% accuracy and 72.30% precision. Further analysis of tracking algorithm corresponds to the integration of ROS and OpenCV is presented. The analysis of tracking algorithm concludes that ROS linking required 0.64% more time in comparison with simple OpenCV code based tracking algorithm.

Opis:
The Covid 19 (coronavirus) pandemic has become one of the most lethal health crises worldwide. This virus gets transmitted from a person by respiratory droplets when they sneeze or when they speak. According to leading and well‐known scientists, wearing face masks and maintain‐ ing six feet of social distance are the most substantial protections to limit the virus’s spread. In the proposed model we have used the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm of Deep Learning (DL) to ensure efficient real‐time mask detection. We have divided the system into two parts—1. Train Face Mask Detector 2. Apply Face Mask Detector—for better understanding. This is a real‐ time application that is used to discover or detect the person who is wearing a mask at the proper position or not, with the help of camera detection. The system has achieved an accuracy of 99% after being trained with the dataset, which contains around 1376 images of width and height 224×224 and also gives the alarm beep message after the detection of no mask or improper mask usage in a public place.

In thise paper a very simple method of the visual information interpretation for recognition and navigation purposes is presented and discussed. The proposed method consists of six steps: image acquisition, edge detection, fast edge vectorization using a high number of short preliminary vectors, aggregation of the preliminary vectors into the form of final vectors. The next stages of the visualthe visual information interpretation for recognition and navigation purposes will be description of the objects’ shapes by means of the final vectors, object recognition and/or robot navigation on the base of comparison between actual shape description and templates memorized during the programming/training process, but they are not discussed in this paper. The main advantage of the proposed method is a simple and time-effective algorithm, which can be performed in real time also by a simple and cheap processor, working as a “brain” of the considered robot.

The associated issues are position control, velocity control and sensing information in addition to the need for imitating the human-like decision. The proposed method considers not only the kinematics of the robot but also its dynamics. Moreover, a control structure is designed and several behaviors for a soccer robot are proposed.
