Opis:
Logistics costs are a major expense accounts departments responsible for national security. Experience in business can be used, but must take into account the specificities of the public sector. The paper presents the results of research project, during the study looked for the best tools to improve the efficiency of the fleet management of the police. Fleet economy is inefficient - both in terms of the use of vehicles and service. In the research project prepared telematics solutions that reduce transport costs in the police. In particular, these are systems for monitoring fuel consumption. In addition, organizational changes are proposed which allow to reduce logistics costs and increase employee motivation.

Opis:
The article concerns the application of data, collected by mobile devices, in models road maps needed in virtual environments. Recently, a system has been developed at UTH Radom, with the aim of tracking wanted vehicles. The simulation of such vehicles, understood as units with driver or passenger(s), the acquisition and transfer of related data as well as the processing of information obtained from observation cameras, are subject of ongoing research. A key component for an effective analysis of trajectories, are detailed digital road maps. Given the lack of access to commercial geo-information systems, the compilation of customized digital maps for the territory of interest, using open data collections of geographical data, is essential for research in the public sector. In the present paper, the adaptation of chosen Openstreetmap data structures to the described purposes is presented.

In order to conduct analysis for the evaluation of benefits derived from Transport Telematic Services (TTS), supporting decisions about architecture design options, it is necessary to establish a characterization framework. This study identifies potentially relevant TTSs for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Transport, potential users and domain of usage for the services and present these in a useful framework for conducting analysis toward a holistic understanding of telematic services e.g. impact analysis, benefits analysis etc. An illustrative example employing the framework has been presented.

Opis:
Description of dynamics occurring during the passage of a rail vehicle is a complex problem, and their mathematical relations are considered in several different aspects such as: interaction of normal force on a beam with fixed and variable cross-section, body, trolley and wheelset displacement and consideration of wheel-rail contact and other phenomena occurring in the contact surface, which include adhesion and creepage. The article presents the effects of work on the issues of normal force at the contact point of the wheel and rail. A mathematical model describing the dynamics of a rail vehicle was defined, determining the normal, transverse and longitudinal force appearing in the wheel-rail contact zone. Variations in the value of the normal force exerted by the wheelset on the rail are the quantity on which the parameters occurring in contact between the wheel and the rail depend. The obtained results from computer simulations show that the normal force is a variable parameter depending on the sign and magnitude of forces occurring between individual blocks of the rail vehicle during the movement. The results obtained will be used in further scientific work devoted to the contact problems.

Opis:
Most of the vehicles, which can be observed by the cameras used in the Intelligent Transport Systems, are coated with reflective layers which, like car windows, are characterized by the effect of light polarisation. Utilising this effect by using a camera designed for the Intelligent Transportation System along with the linear polarizer it is possible to improve the extraction of the vehicles from the surrounding. The article presents the methods of using the polarised light for increasing the operating range of the video systems along with an illustration of the possibilities and limitations of this technique. Some experimental results obtained by the fusion of data recorded for the standard video sequences and the use of linear polarisers are also presented.
