Opis:
Th e automatic line block system may be constructed as a chain of autonomous distributed set of functional blocks located along a railway line section, interlocked by the data transmission subsystem and controlled from two ends of the section. Thus, a certain possibility of simultaneously issued contradictory commands creating conflicts during their execution to be settled by a functional block controlled by them particularly while the data transmission subsystem failure occurs have to be considered. Testing of automatic line block system proper functioning in a range of reaction to contradictory commands and examples of typical conflicts and general rules of solving them are discussed in the paper.

Opis:
The vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication for the increasing of traffic safety, traffic efficiency and driving comfort is a relatively new field of intelligent transport systems. In this paper a cooperative system for urban transport - which has been developed within the German research project KOLINE - is presented. It uses the communication between vehicles and traffic lights via the wireless communication standard IEEE 802.11p with the aim to avoid stops at traffic lights in order to reduce noise and pollutant emissions. The traffic lights provide information about the future signal changes and the local traffic state to the vehicles. The vehicles use this data to calculate the optimal approach strategy. In addition, the signal programs of the traffic lights are coordinated throughout the network and recalculated every 15 minutes according to the traffic volume. The article focuses on the architecture of the cooperative system and the communication between vehicles and traffic lights.

Opis:
There is no doubt, that railway has to be safe. More precisely safety, security and cybersecurity have to be ensured. However, it was always a question how safe railway system has to be to be accepted as safe. Paper starts from ‘failsafe’ principle and ‘safety integrity levels’ which were introduced respectively for traditional and electronic signalling equipment. It describes then three most representative explicit risk estimation methods, which are used for assessing influence on safety caused by significant changes being introduced or planned to be introduced in the railway system (not only for signalling). It also presents how overall railway related risk is calculated for individual countries in the European Union. All that however, does not support safety, security and cybersecurity related decisions, which have to be taken in case of planning, constructing and reconstructing of modern railway systems utilising control command and other communication based systems supporting safety and security. Paper proposes matrix based approach defined by author on the basis of the ‘communication based train control and management enhanced safety and security impact reference model’ (e-SSIRM model), which was defined by author and presented during Transport Systems Telematics TST’2018 conference.

Opis:
Newest traffic lights coordination system’s structure contains such components as: local control, global/area control and directional transmissions of data. Today’s wireless controllers, in addition to the standard measurement and signaling functions (handling induction loop circuits, handling double-state signals, handling predefined signal groups), also perform advanced communication functions. With the implementation of such communication technologies/protocols as Ethernet TCP/IP, GSM, GPRS , these controllers are able to send text messages as well as support remote monitoring and control. The beginning of this paper presents shortly chosen examples of current solutions of Zonal Traffic Control Systems. Next a microprocessor model (8051) for controlling traffic lights in an intersection (normal, two-lane) is analysed. Finally the paper emphasises the role of wireless data transmission systems in smart communication in cloud computing and database technology solutions.
