Magnetic field dependences of the piezomagnetic dynamics, magnetomechanical coupling and elasticity moduli in the Fe$\text{}_{73.5}$Cu$\text{}_{1}$Nb$\text{}_{3}$ Si$\text{}_{13.5}$B$\text{}_{9}$ alloy in an as-quenched state and annealed in vacuum for 1 h at 450°C were investigated. The maximum value of the magnetomechanical coupling coefficient was equal to 0.15 for the as-quenched state and 0.7 after annealing at 450°C. The changes of the elasticity moduli (ΔE effect) from about 60 to 180 GPa were observed after annealing at this temperature. These changes are connected with magnetostriction (equal to 25.8×10$\text{}^{-6}$ at saturation), internal stresses, defects, mechanical, magnetic and heat treatment history.

Opis:
The following paper presents original results of study on the magnetoelastic properties of Ni-Zn (nickel-zinc) ferrite material under low magnetizing fields, corresponding to the so-called Rayleigh region. The investigated $Ni_{0.36}Zn_{0.64}Fe_2O_4$ material was formed into frame-shape sample allowing to obtain uniform stress distribution. Special digitally controlled measurement system was utilized to perform investigation. Obtained results are presented in the paper. On the basis of them mathematical description of magnetoelastic effect in investigated material was developed as an extend of the Rayleigh model of magnetic hysteresis. Comparison of the experimental and modeling results indicates that the developed model is correct.

Opis:
The following paper presents the original results of investigation on the magnetoelastic properties of ferrite materials magnetized in low field region, which could be utilized in development of force and stress sensors. The objects of investigation were two ferrite materials (manganese-zinc Mn-Zn and nickel-zinc Ni-Zn). The magnetoelastic characteristics of the materials were investigated with the special measurement system, allowing measurement of magnetic parameters of the ferrite materials magnetized with low fields under the influence of the compressive stress. The obtained results indicate that there is a strong correlation between the magnetic properties of the material in low magnetizing field region, and applied mechanical stress, which allows development of the magnetoelastic stress or force sensor with ferrite core working in low magnetizing field region.

The following paper presents the results of investigation on the magnetoelastic Villari effect in structural steel magnetized in the so-called Rayleigh region, which corresponds to relatively low magnetizing fields, much lower than coercive field. Two grades of structural steel were investigated during the performed measurements. Obtained results indicate significant correlation between applied mechanical stress and magnetic properties of the investigated materials.

The paper presents results of research on the effects of mechanical stresses on the magnetostrictive properties of 13CrMo4-5 steel. Measurements of stress dependence of magnetostriction fill the gap in the state of the art enabling description of relationships between stresses applied to the samples and its magnetoelastic and magnetostrictive properties. Performed studies represent the starting point for development of unified model of both Villari (magnetoelastic) and Joule (magnetostrictive) effects under stresses in steels. The formulated model will be the basis for the development of generalized methods of interpreting the results of non-destructive testing of the state of the internal stresses in steels based on these phenomena.

Opis:
The effect of heat treatments at 603 K (a relaxation of an amorphous structure) and at 723 K (an onset of a bulk nanocrystallization) of a rapidly quenched $Fe_{76}Mo_{8}Cu_{1}B_{15}$ alloy is studied. The differences in sample processing are reflected in magnetization direction as seen by room- and low-temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy.

Opis:
A response of an inhomogeneous magnetoelastic medium with the zero-mean magnetostriction to high-frequency elastic and electromagnetic fields is studied. It is shown that diagonal susceptibilities have the resonance anomalies in the vicinity of the frequency of the magnetoelastic resonance, while the coefficients of crossing excitations are equal to zero.

Opis:
Magnetization process during magnetically induced reorientation and related magnetic domains of cuboid Ni_{50}Mn_{28.5}Ga_{21.5} single crystal with {100} faces was investigated. Magnetic domains were visualized using magneto-optical indicator. The domains pattern is determined by strong uniaxial magnetic anisotropy of Ni-Mn-Ga martensite. Thanks to magnetically induced reorientation the domains arrangements for all three crystal orientations could be obtained and we showed that the size of domains scales with square root of the thickness and penetrates through whole crystal. Visualization of magnetic domains on all faces of cuboid provides the 3D model of magnetic domains.

Opis:
Excitation of bulk spin waves by acoustic wave localized on the elastic planar defect in the bulk ferromagnet was analytically and numerically investigated. We showed that besides magnetic oscillations forced by acoustic wave strain the resonance between Kosevich wave and bulk spin wave can occurs. For the frequency of the Kosevich wave far below the resonance frequency the amplitude of dynamic magnetization is negligible. For the frequency above the resonance the acoustic wave excites bulk spin wave of the same frequency but different absolute value of the wave vector.

Opis:
The magnetic and elastic properties of epitaxially grown Mo/Co/Au trilayer systems were investigated by the Brillouin light scattering and a ferromagnetic resonance. Using both experimental methods the perpendicular uniaxial anisotropy and the effective in-plane twofold anisotropy contributions were determined as the function of the cobalt thicknesses. Acoustic phonons analysis shows that the elastic constants are decreased with increasing cobalt layer thicknesses.

Opis:
Ni polycrystalline nanowires with diameters of 50, 80, and 100 nm were electrodeposited in cylindrical pores of track-etched polycarbonate membranes. Their magnetic properties were determined as a function of temperature using ferromagnetic resonance and magnetization measurements. At room temperature, the uniaxial anisotropy is equal to the shape anisotropy whereas an additional contribution is evidenced at low temperature. This additional contribution is attributed to magnetoelastic effects induced in the nanowires due to the different thermal expansion constants of Ni and polycarbonate. The analysis of magnetization processes in Ni nanowire arrays evidenced strong dipolar interactions inside the wires due to the domain structure. The coercive field of the nanowires was shown to be nearly a linear function of the temperature and could be accounted for temperature dependence of the uniaxial anisotropy.

Opis:
Current integrator systems usually use active RC integrator circuits. Crucial dificulty associated with this analogue system is the integrator drift. The following paper presents the idea of the active integrator circuit based on inductive and resistive components. This concept allows to eliminate the time drift of the circuit, which is undesired phenomenon resulting from capacitive components working in the traditional negative feedback loop. The SPICE simulations were performed to validate the presented idea. Then, prototype circuit with discrete components was tested. Inductors were based on nanocrystalline and air cores. The developed solution was tested as magnetoelastic sensors transducer, to confirm the ability for long-term, continuous, drift-free, integrator circuit operation. The results were compared with traditional, RC circuit with automatic drift compensation.

Opis:
The effect of thermal treatments (by the Joule heating and conventional annealing) on the coercivity and saturation magnetostriction constant in the amorphous and nanocrystalline Co$\text{}_{66}$Fe$\text{}_{4}$Mo$\text{}_{2}$Si$\text{}_{16}$B$\text{}_{12}$ alloy is reported. It is noticeable the near insensibility to the external stress of coercive field and anisotropy field (leading to extremely low value of magnetostriction 1.5×10$\text{}^{-8}$) achieved after the Joule heating by two steps (first one to relax the internal stresses and the second one to develop a fine nanocrystalline structure).

We report on ferromagnetic resonance and torque curves measurements in electrodeposited CoPd alloy films with composition ranged from Co$\text{}_{13}$Pd$\text{}_{87}$ to Co$\text{}_{45}$Pd$\text{}_{55}$. We show that the origin of the multimode structure of ferromagnetic resonance spectra in these strongly magnetostrictive polycrystalline films can be satisfactorily explained on the basis of the independent-grain-approach for a textured microstructure. The fourfold periodicity of the torque curves for the compositional range of 30-35 at% of Co seems to be originated by the microstructure features which lead to a distribution of the easy axis directions within the films.
