Opis:
Comparison studies of different measurement methods using a Coordinate Measuring Arm are presented. Studies were divided into two parts. The first was point measurements of contact and pseudo-scanning contact measurements. The second part consisted of point measurements of contact and non-contact scanning measurements. Contact research (point measurements and the pseudo-scanning) were accomplished with the use of PowerINSPECT software, whereas non-contact with use of Focus Handheld and Focus Inspection software. Handheld Focus was used to collect a point cloud and its processing, while the detection of set elements was made using the second software from the group of Focus. According to the developed procedure for both parts sample elements with known nominal values were measured (available CAD model of object of research). It became the basis for examining whether there are statistically significant differences between results of different methods in both parts. Statistical comparison of measurement methods was carried out using four tests: Comparison of Means, Comparison of Standard Deviations, Comparison of Medians and a Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test.

The research of robotics needs a good and accurate control. The proposed concept is touch less and non-verbal communication with the use of leap motion controller. The paper aims to link virtual environment with real time environment. The paper presents an analysis of a mathematical model of the human arm dynamics in terms of observability. The purpose of the performed experiments is the selection of an observer for the possibility of arm tracking. The arm model is based on the two-link manipulator moving horizontally and vertically. For the study a model was linearized and the model part responsible for the work of human muscles was omitted. The experimental part involved simulated measurements of the motion parameters that imitate real-IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) measurements. Finally, the simulation results using the observer in the form of a Kalman filter and the particle filter have been presented.

Opis:
In order to predict the mechanical properties of A356, a relatively new approach is presented in this paper using finite element technique which combines mechanical properties data in the form of experimental and simulated microstructures. In this work, the comparison of this model's predictions with the ones in the literature is presented. It is revealed that predictions of this study are consistent with the other works and experimental measurements for A356 alloy. The results of this research were also used in order to form an analytical equations followed with solidification codes for SUT (Sharif University Technology) software.
W celu prognozowania właściwości mechanicznych stopów A356, w pracy przedstawiono stosunkowo nowe podejście przy użyciu metody elementów skończonych, które łączy w sobie dane właściwości mechanicznych w formie badań eksperymentalnych i symulacji mikrostruktur. W pracy przedstawiono porównanie przewidywań tego modelu z danymi literaturowymi i stwierdzono, że są one zgodne z innymi pracami i danymi eksperymentalnymi dla stopu A356. Wyniki tej pracy zostały również wykorzystywane do sformułowania równań analitycznych następnie użytych do programowania krzepnięcia w oprogramowaniu SUT (Sharif University of Technology).

The article presents the methodology to estimate the operator influence on measurements performed with a coordinate measuring arm. The research was based on the R&R analysis, adapted to the specifics of redundant devices such as ACMM (selection of a test object difficult to measure). The method provides for measurements by three operators, who measure ten parts in two or three samples (measurement data developed in the article relate to the three measurements of holes). The methodology is designed to identify which operator has the best predisposition to perform measurements (generates the smallest measurement errors). Statistica software was used to analyse and visualize measurement data.

This paper presents a comparison of different techniques to capture nominal data for its use in later verification and kinematic parameter identification procedures for articulated arm coordinate measuring machines (AACMM). By using four different probing systems (passive spherical probe, active spherical probe, self-centering passive probe and self-centering active probe) the accuracy and repeatability of captured points has been evaluated by comparing these points to nominal points materialized by a ball-bar gauge distributed in several positions of the measurement volume. Then, by comparing these systems it is possible to characterize the influence of the force over the final results for each of the gauge and probing system configurations. The results with each of the systems studied show the advantages and original accuracy obtained by active probes, and thus their suitability in verification (active probes) and kinematic parameter identification (self-centering active probes) procedures.

Opis:
Continuous development of intelligent network applications drives the demand for deployment-ready hardware and software solutions. Such solutions are highly valued not only by distributed producers of energy but by energy consumers as well. The use of intelligent network applications enables the development and improvement of the quality of services. It also increases self-sufficiency and efficiency. This paper describes an example of such device that allows for the control of a dual active bridge (DAB) converter and enables its remote control in real time over an IP-based network. The details of both hardware and software components of proposed implementation are provided. The DAB converter gives a possibility to control and manage the energy between two DC power systems with very different voltage levels. Not only information, but also the quality of energy, the direction of power flow, and energy storage systems can be easily controlled through an IP-based network and power electronics converters. Information technology, together with intelligent control of power electronics technology, provides a flexible solution, especially for sustainable smart grids.

Opis:
A comprehensive understanding of melt quality is of paramount importance for the control and prediction of actual casting characteristics. Among many phenomenons that occur during the solidification of castings, there are four that control structure and consequently mechanical properties: chemical composition, liquid metal treatment, cooling rate and temperature gradient. The cooling rate and alloy composition are among them most important. This paper investigates the effect of some major alloying elements (silicon and copper) of Al-Si-Cu alloys on the size of the secondary dendrite arm spacing. It has been shown that both alloying elements have reasonable influence on the refinement of this solidification parameter.

In order to control joints of manipulators with high precision, a position tracking control strategy combining fractional calculus with iterative learning control and sliding mode control is proposed for the control of a single joint of manipulators. Considering the coupling between joints of manipulators, a fractional-order iterative sliding mode crosscoupling control strategy is proposed and the theoretical proof of its progressive stability is given. The paper takes a two-joint manipulator as the research object to verify the control strategy of a single-joint manipulator. The results show that the control strategy proposed in this paper makes the two-joint mechanical arm chatter less and the tracking more accurate. The synchronous control of the manipulator is verified by a three-joint manipulator. The results show that the angular displacement adjustment times of the threejoint manipulator are 0.11 s, 0.31 s and 0.24 s, respectively. 3.25 s > 5 s, 3.15 s of a PD cross-coupling control strategy; 2.85 s, 2.32 s, 4.22 s of a PD iterative cross-coupling control strategy; 0.14 s, 0.33 s, 0.28 s of a fractional-order sliding mode cross-coupling control strategy. The root mean square error of the position error of the designed control strategy is 6.47 × 10−6 rad, 3.69 × 10−4 rad, 6.91 × 10−3 rad, respectively. The root mean square error of the synchronization error is 3.96×10−4 rad, 1.36×10−3 rad, 7.81×10−3 rad, superior to the other three control strategies. The results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

In this study, the effects of grain size refiner addition and various pre-heating mold temperatures on AlSi9 cast alloy microstructure and solidification have been evaluated. For different process conditions, thermal analysis was performed for all samples and cooling curves were established. Important parameters in liquidus and eutectic Si-phase regions have been calculated usingthe first derivative cooling curves. Secondary Dendrite Arm Spacing (SDAS) variation was also determined. Experimental results question the effectiveness of cooling curve parameters in providing the microstructure data as a function of refinement. The present work shows that the effect of grain refiner addition on the value of SDAS was higher when the solidification time was lower. It indicated that the solidification parameters such as nucleation temperatures of α-Al phase, undercooling temperature and total solidification time were affected by grain refinement. It has been found that the addition of grain refiner affect the eutectic phase formation time. However, it has no effect on the eutectic phase morphology.

This paper deals with mechanical and hardware design of a robot, used for the rehabilitation of upper extremities. It has been called ARR-1 (Arm Rehabilitation Robot). The robot has a semi-exoskeleton structure. This means that some parts of the robot fit closely to the human arm (an orthosis), but the weight of the construction does not load patient’s body. The device is used for the whole arm rehabilitation, but active joints are only situated in glenohumeral and elbow joints. The robot is electrically actuated.
Artykuł opisuje mechanikę oraz część sprzętową systemu sterowania robota przeznaczonego do rehabilitacji kończyny górnej. Robot został nazwany Arm Rehabilitation Robot - ARR i charakteryzuje się strukturą semi-egzoszkieletalną. Oznacza to, że część aktywna przylega do ciała pacjenta, a jego struktura kinematyczna przypomina kończynę górną, ale waga robota nie obciąża pacjenta. Urządzenie może być używane do rehabilitacji całej kończyny górnej, ale aktywne stopnie swobody znajdują się w stawach barkowo-obojczykowym oraz łokciowym. Robot jest napędzany silnikami elektrycznymi.

The article presents an approach to assessing human physical models specified in the ISO 10068:2012 standard. The models were compared on the basis of energy analysis, which was conducted in terms of power distribution. Since the models in question have a fully specified internal structure, the investigation focused on power distribution in the models and the total power in the system. The article provides a description of the construction and energy-based modelling of Human-Tool systems. Simulation results obtained during the study were analysed in terms of health risks posed to the tool operator.
W pracy przedstawiono sposób oceny modeli fizycznych człowieka z normy ISO 10068:2012. Modele porównano metodą energetyczną, która w prezentowanym przypadku została zrealizowana w dziedzinie rozdziału mocy. Badane modele posiadają w pełni określoną strukturę wewnętrzną, dlatego zwrócono uwagę na rozdział mocy w tych modelach oraz moc globalną w całym systemie. Przedstawiono proces budowy i modelowania energetycznego systemów Człowiek – Narzędzie. Zaprezentowano również wyniki symulacji oraz powiązano otrzymane wartości z zagrożeniami dla zdrowia człowieka.

This article deals with the noise detection of discrete biosignals using an orthogonal wavelet packet. In specific, it compares the usefulness of Daubechies wavelets with different vanishing moments for the denoising and compression of the digitalised biosignals in case of surface electromyography (sEMG) signals. The work is based upon the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) version of wavelet package transform (WPT). A noise reducing algorithm is proposed to detect unavoidable noise in the acquired data in a model independent way. The noise of a signal sequence will be defined by a seminorm. This method was developed for a possible observation during a fracture healing period. The proposed method is general for signal processing and its design was based upon the wavelet packet.

The article presents the results of validation of static calculations carried out for a monolithic rectangular tank with walls of trapezoidal cross-section. Static calculations were made with the use of software based on the finite element method (FEM) and the finite difference method (FDM) in terms of energy (including spatial static work of the tank). Validation of the results was conducted on a concrete tank model using an innovative measurement tool, i.e. a coordinate measuring arm with a touch probe.
