In this paper two robust control methods for hybrid system are presented. Both methods are usefull for SISO and MIMO systems. Controller design procedure is developed in frequency domain. Equivalent subsystem method is used for controller design in this paper. Stability condition of proposed methods bases on small gain theory and uses additive and inverse additive model type. Two tank water system is presented in the paper and serves as a numerical example to compare effectiveness of described methods.

This paper describes a methodology for inventory analysis and reduction, which was developed at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zilina. The methodology describes the optimal procedure for the application of basic analytical methods and tools in practice. The results of the analysis are in the algorithm linked to the subsequent actions realized to improve inventory management system and to minimize inventory level in the company. Described procedure is the result of methodology examination and verification in practical conditions of production enterprises. In the following sections of this paper, there are presented a comprehensive approach to the inventory analysis and the own algorithm, which contains 3 phases: inventory analysis on enterprise level, summary analysis of individual item groups and individual analysis of material items. In the last section, there are described examples of results from such analysis and conclusions. The presented approach is an attempt to create a universal procedure of analysis which integrates methods and tools described in various publications.

Opis:
The paper deals with structuring robot control systems. The control system is decomposed into distinct agents. An agent, in general, is responsible for control of its effector, perception of the environment for the purpose of its effector control, and inter-agent communication. The behaviour of the agent is governed by its set of transition functions. The control system consists of two tiers – the upper tier is defined by the flow of information between the agents and the lower tier is defined by formal specification of each agent’s behaviour (influence on the environment, gathering sensor readings, production and consumption of the information for/from the other agents). The paper presents one of the examples of utilization of this approach. The example concerns the multi-robot drawing copying system.

The study of the subdivision driving technology of a stepper motor and two types of typical acceleration and deceleration curves aims at optimizing the open-loop control performance of the stepper motor. The simulation model of a two-phase hybrid stepper motor open-loop control system is set up based on the mathematical model of the stepper motor, in order to let the stepper motor have the smaller stepper angle, two types of typical acceleration and a deceleration curve algorithm are designed for the real- time online calculation based on the subdivision driving technology. It respectively carries out the simulation analysis for their control effects. The simulation results show that the parabolic acceleration and deceleration curves have a larger maximum in-step rotation angle and the faster dynamic response ability in the same control period, and at the same time, the position tracking error of an intermediate process is smaller.

The article presents a model of connection of ETCS application and classical base layer equipment. The model distinguishes three layers: physical, logic and data, which require different modelling techniques and at the same time must be consistent. The model will form the basis for the digital mapping in the Digital Twin of the ETCS application. Layer division is a natural way to represent the structure of a device and its operating rules. It allows a detailed and structured representation of the interfaces of a connection and then an analysis of the connection both with respect to the layer of interest and from the point of view of the interaction between features in the different layers. The S-interface of the LEU encoder of the ETCS is described, taking into account different solutions encountered in practice. The conditions of the connection between the LEU encoder and the environment form a description of one of the two boundaries between the ETCS application, i.e. the implemented ERTMS/ETCS on a specific area of the railway network, and the environment. A general connection model and definitions of a connection and an interface are presented. As an example, the electrical connection with signals transmitted through galvanic connections has been assumed to be typical for LEU encoder and track-side signalling control circuits found in base layer equipment. The physical layer is described in terms of physical parameters and their values. The parameters are divided into electrical (current, voltage and frequency) and mechanical ones (number of leads, conductor thickness, etc.). The values of the electrical parameters are expressed in terms of a uncountable set with defined limits. The logic layer was described in a vector-matrix form. Logic signals are assigned to electrical signals with specific physical parameters. The data layer contains information about the assignment of specific telegrams to specific electrical signals.

The wheel-legged robot is a vehicle with many degrees of freedom. Thanks to its peculiar design, depending on the need, the vehicle will use one of its ways of moving: travelling on wheels or walking (in special situations), which enhances its locomotive properties. The paper presents the robot’s kinematic wheel suspension system, general operation strategy and control system. The application responsible for robot control and data visualization is described. Finally, selected tests of the algorithms, carried out on the robot prototype, are presented.

Opis:
This study investigates a digital control system which is used in bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motors (BPMSMs). Compared with traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors, a BPMSM is characterized by higher speed and no mechanic friction. Therefore, the application value of the latter to the special area is higher than that of the former. An analysis from previous work on the BPMSM had proved its feasibility, and some performances such as suspension force, inductance and so on were also investigated. Based on this analysis, this study focuses on solving control problems in practical applications by designing a control system. The control system design includes overall schematic, hardware and software designs. Main software systems, including the force/current transform module and closed loop control module for radial displacement, are analyzed. Interface circuit for radial displacement, current feedback circuit and dead zone protection circuit are designed for the hardware system. Finally, several performance experiments have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the designed digital control system. Experiment results indicate that the rotor has unique characteristics, such as stable suspension performance, good start-of-suspension performance, and rapid anti-disturbance features.

The article presents studies on the electromechanical system of a metallurgical horizontal looper in the steelmaking industry. During the operation of this unit, parameters in the system changes due to variations of length and mass of the steel strip, these variations significantly change elastic properties and reduce moments of inertia. Various methods of combating elastic vibrations in electromechanical systems are analyzed in this article. The article presents a description of experiments with a horizontal looper. A mathematical model for two extreme positions of the unit was developed based on experimental results. Simulation experiments were made and their results are presented. A new control system structure is proposed to reduce vibrations in the electromechanical system of a horizontal looper. A power-up sensor, adjuster and velocity derivative feedback were added into the model structure. The proposed feedback link structure takes into account the change of steel strip length. From the experimental data it follows that the proposed system provides effective damping of mechanical vibrations in the steel strip if its length during operation is changed.

Modern light rail vehicles, such as a tram or rail bus, due to the need to provide mobility for the elderly or disabled people and the requirements of operators operating passenger rail transport or transport in urban areas must have a 100% low floor. Structurally, this is associated with the use of wheelset with independently rotating wheels (IRW) in such vehicles. It is also possible to use a bogie structure without the use of a wheelset axle by mounting the wheels directly in the side parts of the bogie frame. This construction is more complex and will not be discussed in this article. Bearing in mind the dynamic behavior of such vehicles during operation (lateral stability, profile wear) in various driving conditions (curve traffic, crossovers) and taking into account operating costs, it becomes necessary to install wheel rotation control systems to maintain center movement mass of the wheelset around the centerline of the track. The subject of the article will be considerations on modeling and simulation of rail vehicle bogie motion with IRW sets including the wheel control system. Nominal and mathematical models of the analyzed vehicle will be presented, as well as a controlled strategy based on the comparison of the angular velocities of the wheels of the wheelset A review of works on solutions of such systems will be presented, and a control concept will be proposed. The summary contains conclusions regarding the possibility of practical use of the proposed method of steering wheels of a wheelset in the case of independently rotating wheels.

Modern electronics systems consist of not only with the power electronics converters, but also with the friendly user interface which allow you to read the operating parameters and change them. The simplest solution of the user interface is to use alphanumeric display which displays information about the state of the converter. With a few additional buttons you can change the settings. This solution is simple, inexpensive but allows only local control (within walking distance from the system) and the number of displayed information is low. You can create extensive menu, but it causes problems with access to information. This paper presents the example of a rotating energy storage universal solution which is lack of the above mentioned disadvantages.

The paper discusses the problem of stability of a proportional-integral Luenberger observer, designated for the state variables reconstruction of a linear, time-invariant dynamical system. It is proven, that there exists such a class of observed systems, for which the observer is always unstable, independently of its gains. Stability can be provided in every possible case after application of proposed modifications to the structure of the observer. It is proven, that stability of the modified observer depends only on its gains. It is shown, that an induction motor is the exemplary observed system, for which application of the unmodified observer is impossible due to its lack of stability, while the modified observer provides proper operation of the control system. Finally, some experimental results are presented, obtained in the multiscalar control system of the induction motor, equipped with the modified proportional-integral observer.

In the last decade of the XX-th century, several academic centers have launched intensive research programs on the brain-computer interface (BCI). The current state of research allows to use certain properties of electromagnetic waves (brain activity) produced by brain neurons, measured using electroencephalographic techniques (EEG recording involves reading from electrodes attached to the scalp - the non-invasive method - or with electrodes implanted directly into the cerebral cortex - the invasive method). A BCI system reads the user's "intentions" by decoding certain features of the EEG signal. Those features are then classified and "translated" (on-line) into commands used to control a computer, prosthesis, wheelchair or other device. In this article, the authors try to show that the BCI is a typical example of a measurement and control unit.

This paper presents an approach to the construction and measurements of electrodynamic and reluctance actuators. Executive elements were used as drives in a novel concept of a magnetomotive micropump. The paper discusses various aspects concerning the designation of parameters, control system, the explanation of physical phenomena, and the optimization of the basic elements for coil units. The conducted work describes the measurement system and the analysis of the derived values. The actuators were compared and the pros/cons of building the conceptual device were highlighted. The best solution to be used in the upcoming work concerning the construction of a magnetomotive micropump was chosen based on measurements, engineering aspects, layout control, and key parameters such as the piston velocity, energy stored in capacitors, and efficiencies.

This paper describes an algorithm of dynamic inventory control system for large numbers of material items with continuous non-stationary demand. It uses principles of pull inventory control systems, statistical inventory analysis and joint replenishment inventory systems. This algorithm was processed in software module (VBA for Excel) and applied in practice. The target of described algorithm is to keep an optimum inventory level and optimum customer service level in terms of inventory control of items with non-stationary demand.
