Opis:
Kinetics of spreading of the three-phase contact hole (dewetting) formed by an air bubble colliding with hydrophobic solid surface, after rupture of intervening liquid film, was studied both experimentally and numerically. During experiments it was found that evolution of the TPC line diameter with time occurs with characteristic S-shaped trend which, in consequence, causing rather unexpected maxima at the TPC line spreading velocity curves. It was determined that position of this maximum appears after 1-2 ms after TPC hole formation and its position (in respect to time) depends on the bubble diameter. In solution of surface-active substance this maximum was much smoother and longer. By means of complementary numerical calculations the source of maxima existence and differences in their position and shapes were explained. It was concluded that this effect has only hydrodynamic origin, caused by different course of bubble shape pulsations during TPC line formation and spreading, which depends on degree of liquid/gas interface immobilization (fluidity retardation).

Opis:
The purpose of this study is to explore the collision–attachment law of lepidolite, feldspar and quartz during their interaction with bubbles by particle settlement method and bubble rising method under the action of combined collector. In this study, HQ-330 and dodecylamine were used as combined collector to separate lepidolite, feldspar and quartz by flotation. It also aims to analyse the relationship between collision probability, attachment probability, formation time of three-phase contact line and flotation recovery and the main factors affecting the formation time of three-phase contact line. Experimental results show that when the pH is 7 and the combined collector dosage is 100 mg/L, the separation of lepidolite from feldspar and quartz can be achieved. In the particle settlement experiments, the correlation between collision probability and flotation recovery is low, the correlation between attachment probability and flotation recovery is positive. In the bubble rising experiments, the formation time of three-phase contact line (tTPC) is negatively correlated with flotation recovery, and the combined collector changes tTPC by changing drainage time.

Opis:
This work is focused on the detailed experimental study of bubble adhesion on a hydrophobic solid surface. The frame rate 16000 fps was used in side view arrangement in order to capture in detail the three-phase contact line expansion and bubble shape changes. Experiments were done in pure water and in solutions of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate in low, medium and high concentrations. It was found out that the rupture of a liquid film is not symmetrical with respect to the vertical axis of the bubble symmetry. This asymmetry of TPC line formation leads to bubble surface oscillations and asymmetry in dynamic contact angles. These dynamic mechanisms are diminished with increasing surfactant concentration. The non-linearity of expansion velocity was also observed. In the case of high bubble surface mobility, the expansion velocity first decreases and after few milliseconds, the second velocity maximum emerges caused by kinetic energy dissipation. In surfactant solutions, the arising Marangoni stresses should be taken into account because the expansion velocity increases in the first moments of TPC line expansion. Existing models, such as hydrodynamic and molecular-kinetic, are not able to incorporate with bubble oscillations in pure liquids as well as the non-monotonic curve of expansion velocity profile in surfactant solutions.

Opis:
The paper presents systematic studies on influence of state of dynamic adsorption layer (DAL) induced at the rising bubble interface on time-scale of the bubble attachment to quartz and mica surfaces immersed in pure n-cetyl-trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and mixed octanol/CTAB solutions of different concentrations. It was found that in the case of pure CTAB solutions, the influence of DAL on time of bubble attachment and the three-phase contact (TPC) formation (tTPC) strongly depends on solution concentration. Generally, two solution concentration regimes were distinguished – low and high - for which different degree of solid surfaces hydrophobization was observed. It was determined that for low concentration regime the solid surface is only slightly hydrophobized while for high regime, hydrophobicity of the solid surface is much higher. Consequently, wetting film rupture for low concentration regime is governed by electrostatic interactions while for high concentration regime significance of these interactions is much smaller. As a result, the DAL influenced the film rupture in these two regimes in a quite different manner. For mixed n-octanol/CTAB solutions it was found that CTAB molecules presence is necessary condition for wetting film destabilization. Moreover, thanks to the developed approach, allowing control of initial adsorption coverage over the bubble surface (independently on concentration), it was proved that constant adsorption degree of CTAB molecules at the bubble surface in the mixture, leads to identical times of the TPC formation.

Opis:
To improve the reliability of motor system, this paper investigates the sensor fault diagnosis methods for T-type inverter-fed dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. Generally, a T-type three-level inverter-fed dual three-phase motor drive utilizes four phase-current sensors, two direct current (DC)-link voltage sensors and one speed sensor. A series of diagnostic methods have been comprehensively proposed for the three types of sensor faults. Both the sudden error change and gradual error change of sensor faults are considered. Firstly, the diagnosis of speed sensor fault was achieved by monitoring the error between the rotating speed of stator flux and the value from speed sensor. Secondly, the large high-frequency voltage ripple of voltage difference between the estimated voltage and the reference voltage was used to identify the voltage sensor faults, and the faulty voltage sensor was determined according to the deviation of voltage difference. Thirdly, the abnormal current amplitude on harmonic subspace was adopted to identify the current sensor faults, and the faulty current sensor was located by distinguishing the current trajectory on harmonic subspace. The experiments have been taken on a laboratory prototype to verify the effectiveness of the proposed fault diagnosis schemes.
