Opis:
Hydrodynamic bearings are commonly used in ship propulsion systems. Typically, they are calculated using numerical or experimental methods. This paper presents an experimental study through which it has been possible to estimate 24 dynamic coefficients of two hydrodynamic slide bearings operating under nonlinear conditions. During the investigation, bearing mass coefficients are identified by means of a newly developed algorithm. An impact hammer was used to excite vibration of the shaft. The approximation by means of the least squares method was applied to determine bearing dynamic coefficients. Based on the performed research, the four (i.e. two main and two crosscoupled) coefficients of stiffness, damping and mass for each bearing were obtained. The mass coefficients add up to the complex shaft weight. These values are not required for modeling dynamics of the machine because the rotor mass is usually known, however, they may serve as a good indicator to validate the correctness of the stiffness and damping coefficients determined. Additionally, the experimental research procedure was described. The signals of displacements in the bearings and the excitation forces used for determination of the bearing dynamic coefficients were shown. The study discussed in this article is about a rotor supported by two hydrodynamic bearings operating in a nonlinear manner. On the basis of computations, the results of bearing dynamic coefficients were presented for a selected speed.

Opis:
This paper presents an analytical solution of velocity components of unsymmetrical oil flow and pressure distribution in radial journal bearing gap for hydrodynamic unsteady lubrication with viscoelastic oil. Numerical calculations are performed in Mathcad 11 Professional Program, with taking into account the method of finite differences. This meŹthod satisfies stability conditions of numerical solutions of partial differential equations and values of capacity forces occurring in cylindrical bearings. Exact calculations of presŹsure in journal bearing and its load capacity may be useful to prevent from premature wear tribological units of self ignition engines, especially those applied in ships.

Opis:
The Craig-Bampton modal synthesis method was used to establish the dynamic model of marine four-stroke diesel engine body and crankshaft. Based on the Greenwood / Tripp microlong contact theory considering the surface roughness and the generalized Reynolds equation considering the oil filling rate, the elastohydrodynamic lubrication model of the main bearing of the four - stroke diesel engine is found. At the rated speed, the lubrication performance of the main bearing is simulated and analyzed by the maximum dynamic pressure, the minimum oil film thickness and the friction power. The results show that the oil pressure of 4 # main bearing is the largest and the maximum oil film pressure is in the 4 # main bearing position. The friction load of 4 # main bearing is the largest. The average oil film thickness of 4 # main bearing is the smallest and the minimum oil film The thickness also occurred in the 4 # main bearing position; it can be seen 4 # bearing the most bad lubrication conditions.

Opis:
This paper presents a computer analysis of lubricating medium flow through unsymmetrical lubricating gap of conical slide bearing. Numerical calculations were carried out with the use of the software Matlab 7.1 and Mathematica 5.2 for example conical slide bearings of different values of cone apex angles of pin and sleeve and set values of relative eccentricity and skewing angle as well as dimensionless bearing length equal to 1.
