The inevitability of the crisis phenomenon in modern enterprises requires their proper diagnose. This create the need to identify the ways, which allows to carry out the diagnosis, which should include identification of external and internal crisis factors, but also the opportunities and strengths of enterprise, because they determine the possibilities to overcome the crisis and the recovery and development. The article presents the role of the strategic analysis in the study of the development possibility of hard coal mining enterprise in the crisis situation.

Chcąc sprostać wyzwaniom współczesnej gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, przedsiębiorstwa starają się przekształcać w tzw. inteligentne organizacje, których głównymi atrybutami są: wysoka wrażliwość na dochodzące sygnały zewnętrzne i wewnętrzne, umiejętność szybkiego i właściwego reagowania oraz zdolność ciągłego uczenia się. Swoistym sprawdzianem poziomu inteligencji przedsiębiorstwa mogą być jego reakcja i zachowanie w sytuacji kryzysowej, która może pojawić się nagle i niespodziewanie. Celem artykułu jest próba weryfikacji atrybutów inteligentnej organizacji na podstawie oceny podejścia do kryzysu i sposobu zarządzania sytuacją kryzysową w przedsiębiorstwach działających na polskim rynku. W procesie wnioskowania wykorzystano analizy literatury oraz wyników badań empirycznych, przeprowadzonych w ostatnich latach przez różne ośrodki.
To meet the challenges of the modern knowledge-based economy enterprises try to transform into the intelligent organizations whose main attributes are: high sensitivity to incoming external and internal signals, ability to quickly and properly respond, and the ability of continuous learning. A kind of test of company`s intelligence might be his reaction and behavior in a crisis situation, which can occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Aim of this article is to attempt to verify the attributes of intelligent organizations based on assessment approach to the crisis and crisis management in companies operating on the Polish market. In the process of inference used the analysis of literature and empirical research curried out by various centers in recent years.

Opis:
One of the many factors affecting the economic potential and development of an enterprise are investments. The investment outlays for maintaining or increasing the economic potential decide not only about the development of enterprises, but also their current functioning. While accuracy of investment decisions is very important in investment, so also are the internal conditions that are closely related to the economic condition of the company. The main purpose of the article is to identify the impact of the financial situation and the strength of this impact on investment decisions of enterprises. This has been tested on a sample of over 50 thousand Polish enterprises employing over 9 people that was collected by the CSO's public statistics in Warsaw for the period 1996-2017. The study was conducted using regression and correlation analysis for comparable periods, as well as by taking into account the delay effect, i.e. the impact of the result obtained in year t on investment decisions in year t + 1.

Opis:
Purpose: The aim of this article was to determine the financial situation of various levels of local government units during the COVID-19 pandemic in comparison to selected periods from previous years. Design/methodology/approach: To achieve the aim, the authors used one of the methods of multidimensional statistical analysis – the TOPSIS technique. The study included the most important indicators of the financial situation of local government units at all levels (voivodeships, poviats and communes). The authors used data from the Polish Ministry of Finance. Findings: According to the study results, the lower the level of local government, the greater the share of current income in total income, current transfers per capita, operating surplus per capita and total liabilities per capita. However, a negative trend was observed as well: the share of investment expenditure in total expenditure decreased at all levels of local government units. Research limitations/implications: An important limitation of the article was the inability to reach the managers of LGUs in order to learn their opinions on the functioning of these entities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Practical implications: A proportional decrease of investment expenditure in the overall expenditure of local government units may lead to deteriorated financial situation of enterprises that were beneficiaries of these orders. Social implications: A smaller proportion of investment expenditure in total expenditure means less investment for the local community (usually infrastructural) and, consequently, slower development of local government units. Originality/value: The originality of the study is based on the fact that it was conducted comprehensively and covered all communes, poviats and voivodships in Poland in 2018-2020.

W zadaniach charakteryzujących się ograniczoną przewidywal-nością ważnym zagadnieniem jest bieżące, elastyczne kształtowanie struktury działań. W szczególności należy uwzględniać trudności w osiągnięciu części wyznaczonych celów oraz pojawianie się wartościowych wyników niezamie-rzonych. W artykule przedstawiono ogólny sposób kształtowania struktury działań występujących w procesie rozwiązywania problemów, uwzględniając zwłaszcza charakterystykę sytuacji problemowej, konceptualizację działań oraz ocenę uzyskiwanych wyników.

Gwałtowny wzrost liczby i eskalacja najgroźniejszych przestępstw popełnianych przez nieletnich jest problemem o szczególnym znaczeniu społecznym. Irracjonalne motywy tych przestępstw, nasilona agresja oraz okrucieństwo bulwersują szerokie kręgi społeczne. Oficjalne rejestry, przedstawiające rozmiary i charakter przestępczości nieletnich, wskazują na występowanie w niej trzech głównych tendencji: systematycznego wzrostu wszystkich rodzajów przestępstw, obniżania się dolnej granicy wieku nieletnich sprawców oraz znacznego zwiększenia liczby przestępstw gwałtownych, charakteryzujących się dużym natężeniem agresji i wyjątkową brutalnością. Artykuł stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące zależności pomiędzy stylem funkcjonowania rodziny a pojawieniem się u młodych osób zachowań o charakterze przestępczym. Autorka próbuje odnaleźć uwarunkowania tych zachowań, poszukując ich wśród czynników środowiskowych – rodzinnych.
The rapid growth and escalating of the most serious crimes committed by minors is a problem of particular importance for society. Irrational motives for these crimes, increased aggression and cruelty of those irritate broad social circles. This fact became also an issue taken by the representatives of many disciplines, including psychology, pedagogy, criminology, sociology and law. Official records are showing the size and nature of juvenile crime indicate the presence of its three major trends: a systematic increase in all types of crime, lowering of the minimum age for juvenile offenders and a substantial increase in violent crimes, characterized by high intensity of aggression and exceptional brutality. The article attempts to answer the questions concerning the relationship between the style of functioning of the family and the emergence of young criminal behavior among young patients. The author tries to find determinants of these behaviors searching for them through environmental factors – family.

Introduction/background: The public health crisis, which was the Covid-19 pandemic, made it necessary to introduce changes in the HRM (human resource management) process in almost all organizations and industries. One of the industries that felt the negative effects of the crisis in a very severe way was the catering industry. Both owners of catering enterprises as well as employees in the industry had to face the challenges posed by an unexpected crisis situation. Aim of the paper: The main aim of this paper was to identify human resource management challenges and activities in the catering industry in times of Covid-19 pandemic in Poland. Materials and methods: The work uses source material in the form of literature on the subject of the crisis, as well as available reports and studies that were created during and immediately after the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Primary research was carried out on the basis of a survey method. The questionnaire was distributed among the owners or managers of catering enterprises, as well as to industry’s employees. Results and conclusions: The pandemic was an unexpected phenomenon, and its effects left a significant mark on the processes related to human resource management. The catering industry turned out to be one of the most sensitive to such crises, which meant that many current employees decided to change their profession, and the owners and managers understood the need to both diversify activities and services provided, as well as the need to introduce changes in areas directly related to human resources management. The pandemic also increased awareness of the role and the importance of qualified, competent, motivated and committed staff in overcoming crises and achieving the success of the company.

Zagrożenie to pojawiło się u współczesnej młodzieży na skutek zmian w strukturze społecznej i wyodrębnienia się nowych typów rodzin, borykających się z licznymi problemami wychowawczymi, osłabieniem roli rodziny i autorytetu rodzica w procesie wychowawczym młodego człowieka.
This paper aims to discuss non-standard forms of family life and the threat of social maladjustment resulting from departure from the traditional model of family. The threat in question has emerged among the youth of today as a result of some changes. One of them is violation of the social structure by creating new types of families, which face numerous behavioural problems. Another factor that influences social maladjustment is the fact that the role of family and the authority of parents in the educational process of young people is continuously diminishing.

Ponadto artykuł przedstawia procedury uzupełniające zasady budowy zdarzeń niekorzystnych, składające się na Integralny Model Bezpieczeństwa umożliwiający zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem rozpatrywanego zasobu w ramach procesu planowania cywilnego.
The article presents the evaluation of usefulness the principles of constructing of scenarios of unfavorable events constructing. The verification was carried out on the basis of a computational experiment prepared by using the data available in the Mazovia and Podlaskie Voivodeship Crisis Management Plan of 2015. In addition, the article presents complementary procedures of the rules of construsting unfavorable events, comprising the Integral Safety Model, which facilitates the management of the security of the resource in question as a part of the civilian planning process.

Celem opracowania tych scenariuszy było wskazanie przewidywanych szans i zagrożeń, na które powinny się przygotować kopalnie, aby utrzymać się na rynku i efektywnie funkcjonować w przyszłości.
The publication presents the result of research, which are focused on the development the scenarios of changes environmental factors, which determine development opportunity of hard coal mining enterprise, and in particular the coal mines, which belong to this enterprise. The objective of development the scenarios was to identify possible opportunities and threats, to which should be prepared the mines, to stay on the market and effectively function in the future.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to identify and assess the differentiation of the financial situation of communes without cities with poviat status in terms of changes in the number of their inhabitants in the eastern and western regions of Poland. Design/methodology/approach: Identification and evaluation of the diversification of the financial situation of communes without cities with poviat status in terms of changes in the number of their inhabitants in the eastern and western regions of Poland. The empirical material of the article consists of figures from the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office in Warsaw for the years 1995 and 2018-2020. They apply both to the entire country and to all municipalities without cities with poviat rights, located in six voivodships of eastern and western Poland, i.e., Lubelskie, Podkarpackie and Podlaskie as well as Dolnośląskie, Lubuskie and Zachodniopomorskie. The collected and structured empirical material was developed in a descriptive, tabular, and graphic form, using the method of comparative analysis. Additionally, a score was made of all diagnostic features illustrating the financial situation of the analyzed local government units in the eastern and western regions of Poland against the background of the entire country for 2018-2020. Findings: The analysis of statistical data showed that changes in the number of population (inhabitants) constitute essential demographic conditions for the economy and financial situation of municipalities without poviat status in the analyzed regions of Poland. It also confirmed the research hypothesis, which assumes that communes in western regions of Poland are in a better financial situation compared to eastern regions, especially those with an increase in the number of inhabitants. Originality/value: The originality of the work is based on the author's approach to the analysis of the undertaken research issues and making a point evaluation of the financial situation of the examined local government units. The work is addressed primarily to local government officials responsible for local government public finances and the possibilities and directions of local socioeconomic development, as well as to decision-makers who implement regional development policy in Poland.

Opis:
In this article the authors focus on the verification of models for forecasting bankruptcy of enterprises. 30 enterprises located in the Mielec zone were surveyed. Early warning models were used in the study, including 6 discrimination models and 4 logit models. The purpose of the article is to verify the effectiveness of selected models for forecasting the bankruptcy of enterprises that operate in the Mielec special economic zone. The financial data came from the period 1999-2017. It should be noted that "healthy" enterprises, i.e. those in good financial condition, operate in the zone to date. The conducted research shows that the selected models correctly reflected the financial situation of the surveyed enterprises (Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences model of F. Mączyńska and M. Zawadzki 80% accurate forecasts, and the model of J. Gajdka and D. Stos 73.3%). The authors point out the need to use many analysis models to reliably assess the financial situation of enterprises. If only one model is used, the results may lead to erroneous conclusions.

W artykule przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące istoty rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa w sytuacji kryzysowej, z podkreśleniem znaczenia takich kwestii jak zmiana, restrukturyzacja, tworzenie wartości, inwestowanie i strategia. Na tym tle opisano model badania możliwości rozwojowych przedsiębiorstwa górniczego w sytuacji kryzysowej. Stanowi on wzorzec postępowania ukierunkowanego na ocenę potencjału rozwojowego kopalń oraz podstawę do sformułowania strategii i działań zmierzających do pokonania kryzysu w kopalniach, ich odnowy i efektywnego ekonomicznie funkcjonowania w przyszłości.
The article presents the considerations in terms of the essence of the enterprises development in crisis situation, emphasizing the importance of issues such as change, restructuring, value creation, investment and strategy. Furthermore, the developed model of research of hard coal mining enterprise development possibility in crisis situation was synthetically described. This model is a pattern of conduct, directed to assessing the development potential of the enterprise and to identify right strategy and actions to overcome the crisis, renewal and economical effective operation in the future.
