    At present speed ranges for Levels of Service (LOS) categories are not well defined for highly heterogeneous traffic flow on urban streets in Indian context. In this regard a study was carried out in the city of Mumbai in India. The objective of this research work is to define free-flow speed ranges of urban street classes and speed ranges of LOS categories. In this regard speed data were collected using GPS palmtop and Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering is used to define the speed ranges. It is found from this study that speed-ranges for LOS categories in Indian context are lower than that mentioned in Highway Capacity Manual.

    W artykule tym podjęto się zdefiniowania kluczowych czynników przemian współczesnych portów morskich. Dokonano analizy przemian współczesnej gospodarki światowej, przemian w otoczeniach bliższym i dalszym portów morskich, przemian systemów transportowych, rozwoju zrównoważonego gospodarek oraz zakresu rozszerzenia usług świadczonych w portach morskich (porty jako centra dystrybucyjne, logistyczne i informacyjne).
    This article has been taken to define the key factors in the development of modern seaports. An analysis of transformations of the contemporary global economy, alternately closer and farther surroundings seaports, transportation systems change, sustainable development of economies and the scope of extension services at sea ports (the ports to distribution centers, logistics and information).

    Opis:
    This paper presents the results of studies on the determination of an aircraft’s trajectory and positioning accuracy. The PPP method was applied to determine the aircraft’s position in kinematic mode for code observations in the GPS system. Computations were executed in the “PPP_KINEMTIC” software, whose source code was written using the Scilab 5.3.2 platform. The PPP_KINEMTIC software allows for the latitude coordinate to be estimated with accuracy between 1 and 6 m, the longitude coordinate to be estimated with accuracy between 0.5 and 2.5 m, and the ellipsoidal height to be estimated with accuracy between 1 and 7 m. The average value of the MRSE term equals 5 m with a magnitude between 1 and 8.5 m. In the paper, general libraries of the PPP_KINEMTIC application were presented and the PPP method was characterized too.

    The article shows four scenarios for the development of ITS communications technologies in Poland for the years 2007-2013. Global Business Network methodology is used to make up the scenarios. The basic dimensions of the scenarios are (a) type of sectors in the national economy (public vs. private), (b) type of communications technology (wireline vs. wireless). The scenarios present possible futures.
    W artykule przedstawiono cztery scenariusze rozwoju technologii inteligentnego transportu w Polsce, w latach 2007-2013. Do ich opracowania wykorzystano metodologię firmy GBN. Podstawowymi wymiarami, zastosowanymi do budowy scenariuszy, są: (a) rodzaj sektora gospodarki narodowej (publiczny - prywatny), (b) rodzaj łączności (przewodowa - bezprzewodowa). Scenariusze przedstawiają możliwe warianty przyszłości.

    Opis:
    This paper is focused on the problems related to activities of systemically important banking institutions. After the global financial crisis, these institutions were held responsible for the escalation of systemic risk in the international economy. The paper analyses how both the supervision and the regulatory tools that are used in European Union countries to deal with formally identified systemically important institutions have changed. The direct goal of the paper is to identify the specific features of the new regulatory order with regard to global and other systemically important institutions that operate in the European Union. The results of the analysis indicate that the extension of the extent of supervision over activities undertaken by these institutions and the introduction of new prudential regulations, including resolution regimes, do not guarantee the security and the stability of European Union’s financial market.
