    Artykuł pokazuje główne trendy migracyjne w zjednoczonej Europie w ostatnich latach. Zgodnie z raportem Eurostatu w 2015 roku najwięcej pozwoleń na pobyt dla osób spoza UE, wydały władze Wielkiej Brytanii, następnie Polska i Francja. Można wskazać różne powody przyjazdu do Europy w zależności od narodowości. I tak z powodów rodzinnych najczęściej przyjeżdżają Marokańczycy, w celach edukacyjnych Chińczycy, za pracą Ukraińcy, natomiast z innych powodów (często politycznych) Białorusini. Jeżeli chodzi o Polskę to od czasu zakończenia II wojny światowej, aż do roku 2016 więcej osób wyjeżdżało niż do Polski przyjeżdżało (ujemne saldo migracji). W 2016 r. po raz pierwszy wystąpiło dodatnie saldo migracyjne.
    The article presents main tendencies in migration within the United Europe in the recent years. According to the Eurostat report conducted in 2015, the majority of permissions to stay in the EU for the migrants from outside the EU, was issues by the United Kingdom, next was Poland and France. Several reasons can be indicated for the migrants to the EU, depending upon the nationaly. And so, family reasons were indicated by the Moroccans, the Chinese arrive due to educational reasons, work is the cause of the newcomers from Ukraine, while other reasons (incl. political ones) have been pointed out by the Belorussians. Considering Poland from the end of the WW II, more Poles left Poland than the newcomers arrived. In 2016 for the first time there were more arrivals than emigrants.

    Opis:
    The article focuses on the phenomenon of youth migration as a crucial characteristic of modern society. The aim of this article is an analysis of youth spatial mobility - especially of academic youth - in the context of migration processes in Europe. The result of the analysis is the conclusion that migration is attractive for the young generation, and it constitutes a way to construct a trajectory for life and a professional path which has both positive and negative aspects. In the context of personality development, emigration of young people is an opportunity to shape life according to their own vision, imagining their life and the life of their family in a country providing better conditions. On the other hand, youth emigration is, to a certain extent, a factor which slows down and inhabits the socio-demographic and economic development of the sending country. The article characterises the essence and scale of world-wide and European migration, presents statistical data regarding characteristics of Poland as an emigration country, illustrates the relation between the situation on the job market and the exodus of youth, as well as analyses the educational migration of young people.

    Purpose: Contemporary international migration more and more often concerns educated women who perceive emigration as an opportunity to improve their living conditions, earn higher wages, better use their competences or explore other cultures. The aim of this paper is to present long-term emigration of Polish women from the perspective of motives and consequences in the professional area. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative study in the form of a questionnaire survey was conducted on a group of 126 women, followed by 10 in-depth interviews. Findings: Most female respondents were motivated by several factors combining financial and living aspects or those related to self-development and curiosity about the world. Long-term emigration also had a significant impact on women's professional development. Almost half of the respondents improved their formal qualifications through studies or certified trainings confirming their language skills, specialisation or qualifications to perform a job. On the other hand, almost all respondents acquired new or developed their existing knowledge and skills by performing diverse and complex tasks, self-education, instructions from more experienced colleagues or internal training. Research limitations/implications: The main limitations of the research relate to the size of the sample, which, given the scale of Polish emigration, could have been larger. Social implications: Understanding the motives of long-term emigration of Polish women can help decision-makers create better public policies in order to create better conditions for personal and professional life. This will help to keep valuable human capital in the economy. Originality/value: The paper presents the current motives of long-term emigration of Polish women, which, as it has been shown, have changed over the last few decades. The added value of research on migration is also the demonstration of the impact of long-term emigration of women on their professional development.
