The paper presents a computer simulation as an effective method for testing the impact of transport on the environment. It shows the concept of a simulation model that allows the integration of different approaches and methods used in the discussed context, pointing to the System Dynamics (SD) as a suitable technique to formalize the model. Simulation modeling in the SD convention allows for the simultaneous estimation of all impacts of transport on the environment in the dynamic approach.
Artykuł przedstawia symulację komputerową jako efektywną metodę badania wpływu transportu na środowisko naturalne. Zaprezentowano w nim koncepcję modelu symulacyjnego pozwalającego na integrację różnych podejść i metod stosowanych w omawianym kontekście, wskazując na Dynamikę Systemową jako odpowiednią technikę formalizacji modelu. Modelowanie symulacyjne w konwencji systemowo-dynamicznej umożliwia jednoczesne szacowanie wszystkich skutków wywoływanych przez inwestycje transportowe w środowisku naturalnym w ujęciu dynamicznym.

Dobre samopoczucie, dobrostan (well-being) w pracy jest subiektywnie postrzeganym przez pracownika stanem osiągnięcia zadowolenia, satysfakcji z pracy wykonywanej w określonych warunkach fizycznych i społecznych. W ostatnim okresie na znaczeniu przybiera kwestia zapewnienia szeroko rozumianego bezpieczeństwa pracy. Na tym tle celem opracowania stała się identyfikacja składowych bezpiecznego środowiska pracy, szczególnie ważnych z punktu widzenia hierarchii, oczekiwań osób świadczących pracę w polskich realiach gospodarowania. W rozważaniach nawiązano do kontekstu zmian pokoleniowych i potrzeby uwzględnienia tego faktu w procesie monitorowania i respektowania artykułowanych interesów, zwłaszcza najmłodszej generacji pracobiorców. Poza prezentacją wyników badań własnych, odwołano się do materiałów publikowanych przez innych autorów.
Well-being at work is a subjective state of fulfillment and satisfaction achieved from work performer in certain physical a nd social conditions. Recently, the problem of work safety has become increasingly important. The aim of this paper is to identify the constituent parts of safe working environment in terms of hierarchy of expectations of employees providing work in Polish business realities. The discussion refers to the context of generation changes and the need to take this issue into consideration in the proces of monitoring and respecting the expressed interests, especially of the youngest generation of employees. Beside a presentation of original research results, the paper also calls back to materials published by other autors.

This article presents the different intermodal transport systems in selected countries in the world, with an indication of their development and impact on environmental protection. The conducted research indicates much faster development of intermodal transport as compared to the transport of goods in other technologies. The studies were based on the latest obtainable statistics on intermodal transport from Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. In all the cases examined, it is apparent that intermodal transport is supported by state authorities and international intermodal transport associations. The scientific and cognitive value of the article is expressed in the collection of a large number of materials, their systematization and generalization of conclusions. The literature on this subject lacks such comprehensive scientific studies, and this study will therefore clearly fill the research gap.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to identify the hierarchy of benefits achieved by final purchasers as a result of their cooperation with offerors, taking into account the environment and specifics of this cooperation. Design/methodology/approach: A cognitive-critical analysis of the world literature on the subject indicates that these issues have not been studied so far. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a cognitive and research gap in this regard. In order to reduce the gap, six research hypotheses were formulated. Primary research was carried out to verify the hypotheses. It covered 1,196 adult representatives of final purchasers in Poland. The collected data was subjected to quantitative analysis, using, inter alia, average scores analysis, comparative analysis, Pearson’s chi-square independence test, and an analysis of the V-Cramer contingency coefficient value. Findings: The results allowed, among other things, the following conclusions to be drawn: (1) non-material benefits of cooperation with offerors were more valuable for the majority of respondents, (2) the majority of respondents believed that the online and offline environments should be used in parallel as a place of this cooperation, (3) the respondents were more likely to express positive opinions on offers and offerors than negative ones, (4) dependencies were identified between non-material benefits and the environment of cooperation in the case of four benefits (those related to enriching the marketing potential of purchasers and meeting their social expectations). Originality/value: The results obtained and conclusions drawn on their basis are characterised by high cognitive and readily application value, enriching the knowledge on purchaser behaviour and enabling offerors to take appropriate measures to encourage purchasers into cooperation.

The article presents issues related to legal regulations pertaining to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Poland and France. It describes commercial and non-commercial rules of UAV use. It also summarizes conditions concerning UAV weight, procedures of personnel and certification, as well as the space where UAVs may perform flight operations. Additionally, the application and use of UAVs in civil and military environments are described. It allows for the statement that the UAV role in air transport is increasing. Due to the benefits they offer, such as the possibility to remain in the air for a long time, performing flight operations in a harmful environment and little influence on the natural environment, UAVs will be increasingly important and systematically replacing manned aircraft.

Mapping values and goals of sustainable development has resulted in a number of diverse evaluation instruments – sustainability indicators. For the experts in applied ethics, this inventory of indicators represents a general value inventory, which requires attention, ethical review and ethical audit to determine the extent to which these values support the sustainability ethos and are a desirable and correct part of the value structures in the society. In an environment characterised by value pluralism and institutional complexity of sustainable development, the organisations implementing sustainable development projects face a range of problems in their struggle to achieve the relevant goals while having to address social, economic, and environmental commitments. Transdisciplinarity, as a new way to organise research, reflects in the new organisational and institutional processes. It represents a new type of cooperation among scholars from different fields, practical experts and organisations (regional and international) – and a new type of research. This indicates that issues pertaining to ecology, ethics and other fields cross the borders and the individual disciplines are cooperating.

W kontekście narastających problemów społecznych i środowiskowych w niniejszym opracowaniu zwrócono uwagę na konieczność podejmowania działań mających na celu projektowanie zrównoważonych produktów. W artykule wyjaśniono istotę i pojęcie zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz zrównoważonego produktu. Przedstawiono proces zrównoważonego planowania produkcyjnego, wskazując na sposoby poprawy zrównoważoności produktów. W dalszej części opracowania przybliżono znaczenie koncepcji cradle-to-cradle (od kołyski do kołyski), mającą zastosowanie w procesach produkcyjnych zrównoważonych produktów.
As a result of increasing social and environmental problems this study highlights the need to undertake an action to design sustainable products. The article explains the essence and concept of sustainable development and sustainable product. It describes the process of sustainable planning of production, pointing to the ways to improve the sustainability of products. In the later part of the study, the importance of the concept of cradle-to-cradle is explained, which is applicable in the production processes of sustainable products.

The purpose of the article is to identify and assess environmental practice implementations focusing on the environmental strategy as a model. Available references provide scarce information on the very existence of business practices which enforce organizational changes and introduce model strategic behaviors of the company towards the natural environment, which is indicative of a cognitive loophole. The study provides authorial proposals of an environmental strategy as a model. A case study was carried out as part of the project, and its results have led to a conclusion that the implementation of environmental practices is not a one-time act, but rather an evolutionary process which takes place in stages, sequences. Furthermore, as a model of environmental practices, the strategy is developed through evolution, proceeding in a sequential manner.

Degrowth concept has been widely discussed for the last years. It has been wrongly reduced to an unproductive movement which aim is only to change the system of GDP measurement. Degrowth is much more then changing GDP with another indicator. It is a strong reaction to the consequences of globalization; to what can be described by Jean Baudrillard´s words as “violence of global”, when even human rights circulate exactly like any other global product (oil or capital). The aim of the paper is to present Degrowth as a complex concept that calls for social and economic transformation of society, for changing the politics of perpetual growth, political action, reduction of consumption, and environmental protection. As Georgios Kallis argues it is a way how to live better with less. The key question is what forms of democratic society and democratic institutions can make the degrowth transition possible.
Koncepcja Degrowth została szeroko omówiona w ciągu ostatnich lat, a także niesłusznie ograniczona do bezproduktywnego ruchu, którego celem jest tylko zmiana systemu pomiaru PKB. Degrowth jest czymś więcej niż tylko zastąpieniem PKB innym wskaźnikiem. Jest to silna reakcja na skutki globalizacji; na to, co można opisać słowami Jeana Baudrillarda jako "przemoc globalna", kiedy nawet prawa człowieka krążą dokładnie tak samo jak każdy inny produkt globalny (olej lub kapitał). Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie Degrowth jako złożonej koncepcji, która wymaga transformacji społecznej i ekonomicznej społeczeństwa, zmiany polityki ciągłego wzrostu gospodarczego, politycznego działania, zmniejszenia konsumpcji, a także ochrony środowiska. Jak przekonuje Georgios Kallis, jest to sposób, jak lepiej żyć zużywając mniej. Kluczową kwestią jest to, co formy społeczeństwa demokratycznego i demokratycznych instytucji mogą zrobić, aby przejście w Degrowth stało się możliwe.

Introduction/background: Currently in Poland, it is becoming increasingly popular to implement activities related to social responsibility in organizations. Companies have begun to pay more and more attention to such issues as building relationships with the environment, as well as widely understood social interest or environmental protection has become important. Aim of the paper: The purpose of the article is to indicate the role of social responsibility and its relationship to the development of the organization using a selected example. Materials and methods: The study used the case-study method using a survey questionnaire tool. Results and conclusions: Based on the survey, it can be concluded that the employees of the surveyed enterprise have a positive view of social responsibility activities. The organization should focus on a strategy based on investing in solutions to improve the quality of life of employees, the local community, and strive to offset the negative impact on the environment.

W przeciwieństwie do licznych konwencjonalnych technik produkcji, techniki nanoprodukcji wymagają szczególnych projektów procesów i urządzeń oraz ich prowadzenia i kontroli. Z kolei, aby wykorzystać rynkowy potencjał nanotechnologii należy scharakteryzować niepewności środowiskowe, zdrowotne i bezpieczeństwa stwarzane przez nanoprodukty na drodze identyfikacji szans i zagrożeń na wczesnym etapie rozwoju produktów. Opierając się na przeglądzie najnowszej literatury w artykule omówiono niektóre problemy związane z prowadzeniem analiz szans i zagrożeń, jakie stwarzają nanotechnologie na obecnym etapie ich rozwoju.
Unlike many conventional manufacturing techniques, nanomanufacturing techniques require unique facility and process design as well as operation and control. Accordingly, the environmental burden of most nanomanufacturing techniques may be more profound than that of many other conventional techniques. Taking advantage of the newest literature chosen problems concerning the opportunities and threats created by nanotechnologies were presented.

A success of domestic and international projects largely depends on human resources and its effective management, which is related to ethical behaviours of all actors. The article aims to identify specific aspects of ethics which are crucial for innovations development in Polish military institutions. In order to identify these aspects, the author analysed the content of interviews conducted among Polish military and civilian staff. The extracted from text descriptive codes are the transparency of policies and tools for creating innovation, the vision of organizational development, individual characteristics and moral intelligence, the approach to change. The research may useful for development of communication strategies and building competencies of decision makers in civil-military institutions.
Sukces krajowych i międzynarodowych projektów w dużej mierze zależy od zasobów ludzkich będących w dyspozycji organizacji, a także od skutecznego i etycznego sposobu zarządzania nimi. Artykuł ma na celu wskazanie konkretnych aspektów etyki istotnych dla rozwoju innowacji w polskich instytucjach wojskowych. W celu zidentyfikowania tych aspektów autorka dokonała analizy treści wywiadów przeprowadzonych wśród polskiej kadry wojskowej i cywilnej. Wyróżnione na podstawie analizy treści wywiadów kody to transparentność polityk, instrumenty umożliwiające rozwój innowacji, wizja rozwoju organizacyjnego, cechy indywidualne, inteligencja moralna, podejście do zmian. Wyniki badań mogą być przydatne w opracowywaniu strategii komunikacyjnych w instytucjach wojskowo-cywilnych, a także w rozwijaniu kompetencji decydentów.

Globally, air transport has seen a greater increase in recent years. This manuscript is divided into three parts for analysing the negative effects of aviation. The first part is focused on the identification of sources of aircraft noise. While the second part of this article describes the basic principles of the construction and operation of an aircraft jet engine concerning the gaseous emissions produced by such an engine (Third part missing?). The main benefit of this article is the evaluation of the reliability of the human factor because the human factor is an integral part of technical systems and processes. Reliability assessment was performed using the TESEO method. The ergonomic parameter, that is, the cabin noise, was quantified in the given method. The measurement was performed on two types of aircraft, namely in the cabin of a transport jet aircraft and in the cabin of asmall transport aircraft equipped with turboprop engines.
