Opis:
This paper presents the results of comparative research into basic physical and chemical properties of pure diesel fuel and two types of mixtures: Camelina oil ester (Camelina oil ester content in the mixture was 10% and 15%) and diesel fuel. Camelina oil ester was used to show that it can also be used as an additive plant to diesel fuel (according to the plans of the European Union). Similarly to on a large scale used ester of rapeseed oil. The base fuel in the research was clean diesel fuel (without the addition of ester as in the case of diesel fuel available at petrol stations). The use of fuels with different physical and chemical properties to supply the diesel engine and the use of measuring equipment used for determining the parameters of fast-changing operation resulted in the determination of the operating medium average pressure during the combustion process. On the basis of the experimental pressure characteristics of heat release were identified. Analysis of these characteristics determined the proportion of total combustion phases of kinetics and diffusion, depending on the type of fuel and operating conditions. Finally, the paper shows that the fuel with different physicochemical properties has a significant effect on the combustion process. A comparative assessment of the suitability of tested mixtures for operational use was made.

Problems of the power supply in military vehicles grow with the growing number of vehicles in armies. Moreover, biocomponents additions which are added to the basic fuels change its properties. Therefore undertaking work to adopt engines to supply them with fuels coming from renewable sources is essential. The purpose of that research is indicating the influence of fuel feeding system on useful parameters and composition of exhaust exhaust gases of self-igniting engine Renault G9T with high pressure injection mechanism „Common Rail. The researches were conducted while the engine was supplied with six kind of the fuel: basic fuel which was diesel oil, aviation fuel coded NATO F-34, fuel mixtures: F-34 methyl esters of higher fatty acids from rapeseed oil. In the result, it can be stated that the achievements of the engine Renault G9T with high pressure injection system feed with F-34 fuel and mixtures have hanged partly. Conducted examination has showed the essential influence between the fuel and performance of Renault G7T engine with high-pressure injection system feed with F-34 fuel mixtures with methyl esters of higher fatty acids. The increase of EMKOR share in F-34 fuel caused the decrease of useful power, increase of fuel consumption and decrease of combustion smoke.

Opis:
The article presents the results of investigations referring to self-ignition delay angle determined experimentally and through simulations. It was done using charged agricultural Perkins 1104C-E44T engine powered by pure diesel fuel (ON) and fuel mixtures, such as: diesel fuel with 10% camelina oil ester additive (L10) and diesel fuel with 15% camelina oil ester additive (L15). Camelina oil ester was used to show that it can also be used as an additive plant to diesel fuel (according to the plans of the European Union). Similarly to on a large scale used ester of rapeseed oil. The main aim of the above mentioned research was to show the influence of the fuels on the change of self-ignition delay angle for different rotational velocity conditions of the engine and for maximum volumetric dose of ignited fuel. The research was performed using a dynamometer test stand equipped with measurement system of fast-changeable needle lift of injector and the pressures of working substance. Before starting the investigations, selected physicochemical properties of researched fuels were determined that significantly influence that parameter of the combustion process. At the end of the article the conclusion of experiments and simulations results referring to selfignition delay angle are analysed.

Opis:
Biodiesel is widely perceived as a source of ecological energy used to power compression ignition engines as an alternative to fossil fuels. Depletion of fossil fuels and increasing environmental awareness of society has led to an increased demand for energy derived from renewable sources. This phenomenon requires acquisition of raw material used for biofuel production. In order avoid controversies related to misuse of edibles; sources of biofuel production should be viewed as inedible or waste materials. This paper presents an analysis of possible sources of animal material intended for biofuel production. An examination of the quality assessment for biofuels obtained in the laboratory setup, produced from swine lard and turkey fat is presented. The results have been compared to rapeseed biofuel and commercial diesel fuel as fuels commonly used to power compression ignition engines. The paper concerns an examination of pure biofuels and their mixtures with commercial diesel fuel in three different proportions. Parameters such as density, viscosity, acid value, cold filter plugging point, oxidation stability, sulphur content, total contamination, water content and flash point has been examined according to procedures outlined in the PN-EN 14214 Standard. Based on the results, biofuels and their mixtures have been analysed for use in compression ignition engines.

This paper presents results of the research on the efficiency of the Diesel engines of the fleet vehicles fed with the new type of second-generation biofuel BIOXDIESEL at non-stationary and stationary conditions and natural operation on roads. The BIOXDIESEL fuel used for the laboratory testing of physical and chemical properties, engine tests and natural road operation, which is a blend of fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE) obtained from the waste vegetable and animal fats, bioethanol and Diesel fuel. For the testing, several different types of vehicles have been used: passenger vehicles, small parcel delivery vans, agriculture machines and heavy trucks used for long distance international transport. The results of the vehicles engines testing in non-stationary conditions, results of measurement engines performance on vehicle test bed and results of natural road operation on roads of the vehicles used for testing indicate quasi-identical efficiency of the engines, which were fueled with BIOXDIESEL fuel and standard Diesel. The paper also presents results of initial research, which indicates the direction of future research, which is related to increase the calorific value of the biofuels, which may be obtained by replacement of used bioethanol with the heavier alcohols of renewable resources. Physical and chemical properties of the heavier alcohols indicate the possibility to use them as an additive to the biofuels. The paper presents also results of initial engine tests with a blend of the fuel with different heavier alcohols.

Opis:
The problems of power supply the engines of military vehicles are growing together with the number of vehicles in armies. Application of additions biokomponents which change the proprieties of basic fuels is the next problem of fuelling present combustion engines. That is necessary undertaking the operations of enabling to adapting engines to supplying fuels from renewable sources. The assessment of the influence of kind of fuel supplied diesel engine Renault G9T on its useful parameters and exhaust gas composition was the aim of investigations. The investigations were made while the engine was feeding three kinds of the fuel: diesel fuel as a basic fuel, single fuel the NATO code F-34, the mixture of fuels: F-34 (80% the mass part) and the methyl esters of higher acids rape oil of the rapeseed (20% the mass part) means B20. As the result of made investigations was state, that the parameters of engine Renault G9T with the high pressure injection system supplying the fuel F-34 and B20 were partly changed in the relation to the basic fuel what there was the diesel oil. The parts of Carbon Monoxide, Hydrocarbons and exhaust gas are decreasing and engine torque is slight higher. In maximal torque and high engine speed - above 2500rpm during supplying engine fuel F-34 and its mixture, engine switched off automatically and for explanation this phenomena is necessary to explanation this phenomena.
Badania przeprowadzono podczas zasilania silnika trzema rodzajami paliwa: paliwem podstawowym jakim był olej napędowy, paliwem lotniczym o kodzie NATO F-34, mieszaniną paliw: F-34 (80% masowego udziału) i estrów metylowych wyższych kwasów tłuszczowych oleju rzepakowego (20% masowego udziału).
