Opis:
The slide bearing material MB11 fatigue resistance has been investigated with the application of SMOK - test stand in which dynamic unidirectional loadings to the test bearing is generated. Slide bearing layer consists of the bronze (Cu Pb22 Sn 3) sintered to the steel shell. Each of the tested bearing has been subject to the standard 20-hour test, under conditions of the full fluid lubrication. Methodology of the experiments, metallurgical test results and fractographic description of the lining fatigue crack zone are presented. The values of the fatigue strength parameters are also estimated. For the loading pattern that is characteristic for the test devices such as SMOK tester, because of the nominally negative high normal stresses in the damage area, the mechanisms of cracks generation could be explained as follows: yield stress can be reached when during compression at the bearing working temperature the local plastic deformation can appear. After completing the test, in the region of plastic deformation, the tensile stresses can be generated due to the temperature reduction. Slide material is much more sensitive to the tensile loadings than to the compressive one, especially in the area that is weaken by empty spaces. That might be reason for cracks generation. Additionally in the case of the thin-wall bearing shell, assembled in the elastic housing, the circumferentially oriented cracks can appear. It has been observed for high bearing loadings applied on the SMOK tester. Fatigue cracks in the MB11 material tested on the SMOK machine are of the surface net pattern, positioned paralleled to the slide surface (Fig. 8). Mainly structural cracks can be noticed when analyzing the metallographic description. This is related to the porosity of the alloy structure. This is much different from the aluminum alloy structure (the bearing alloy that was previously investigated) where arterial structures of cracks were dominant. The slide surface is the place of cracks nucleation. When in slide layer there are bigger soft material elements or voids it is also possible to observe generation of cracks in any place of the bulk thickness. During consequent development of the process the micro-cracks are spreading out and going to the next defected parts of the alloys. The continuous surface of separation is then developed. The micro-cracks space net which is typical for this kind of damage is not precisely oriented but rather random. The eventually oriented fracture is due to the not uniform structure.

This paper presents the project of the test stand to determine the friction force, the relative eccentricity and temperature distribution m the slide journal bearing during the lubrication with ferrofluid or classic oil. The test stand is built on the basis of TUM 25 lathe's corps. There is the shaft with a diameter of journal d = 100 mm supported on two supports attached to the lathe's body. There is a sleeve in the housing with the electromagnets installed in the centre of this shaft. The housing of sleeve is loaded bv a transverse force with hydrostatic supports (cylindrical and flat one). Measurement of friction force is made by strain gauge force sensor Friction force is measured on the body shells. At the same time is performed measurement of both sleeve and journal displacements by four inductive displacement's sensor s and four whirl-stream ones to determine the relative eccentricity and displacement of sleeve axis towards oj the shaft axis. The slide bearing is supplied bv the ferrofluid which is thermatly stabilized in ultrathermostat. In the paper is shown particular plan for experimental research. These studies are intended to demonstrate the changes of relative eccentricity and temperature distribution in the bearing. Additionally are presented the changes of friction forces caused by the bearing surfaces shape and ferrolubricant with different concentrations of magnetic particles Fe3O4. The gap of slide bearing can be affected by the external longitudinal magnetic field with different ralues of magnetic field strength. The bearing may by loaded a transverse force varying stepwise, or continuously with values from a few to several thousand Newton. A/so, the rotational velocitv of Journal can be changed stepwise, or continuously from 0 to 6000 rpm using a programmable inverter.

Opis:
The core of the presented problem is to numerically and experimentally determine, or to indicate, the values of the optimum pressure and liquid velocity values appearing near the cells, of micro-bearing cooperating surfaces, and to find ways of controlling the friction forces between particles of the liquid and the cell of the micro-bearing cooperating bodies in the thin boundary layer. Investigations of the physical and strength features are expected to be performed for various hinds of micro-bearing superficial layer and for efficient and damages micro-bearings. In order to begin treating the surface structure of a superficial layer on the cooperating micro-bearing surfaces it is absolutely necessary to have at one's disposal the proper model of a liquid flow in the thin layer, and to obtain the proper values of friction forces. During presented research are realized the following tasks: 1.  The methodology of analytical and numerical efforts to obtain characteristics on the micro- and nano- level of pressure, liquid velocity and friction forces, 2.          The methodology of experimental efforts on the nano- level to measure thin layer lubricant properties between cooperating micro-bearing surfaces. 3.          The methodology of experimental research on the micro- and macro -level to measure cooperating surfaces in micro-bearing

In this paper are presented the possibilities to attain the artificial intelligence features of slide micro-bearings taking into account: 1.           Cooperation between super thin boundary lubricant layer and thin superficial layer lying on the micro-bearing shaft and sleeve with various shapes. 2.           Application of a novel method of depositing thin organic and inorganic layer (superficial layer) onto a metal substrate utilizing electro-spraying (electrostatic atomization) method. The new achievements presented in this paper are aimed at application of this technology to functional layer deposition in micro-bearings. Electro-spraying is a low-energy process of liquid atomisation by means of electrical forces. Electro-spraying device consists of a capillary nozzle connected to a high electric potential whereas the substrate is grounded. The liquid flowing out the nozzle is subjected to an electrical stress, and fine droplets are generated from the meniscus or the jet formedat the nozzle outlet. Depending on physical properties of the liquid to be spraye dań d spraying conditions, the size of the droplets can be in the submicron size range. In the electro-spraying process, a solution or a suspension of a material to be deposited is atomised into droplets, which can be targeted onto a substrate to form a condensed product, for example a thin layer after solvent evaporation. The deposition efficiency of charged droplets on a target is much higher than for uncharged ones due to electric forces, which drive the droplets along the electric filed lines towards the substrate.

Opis:
The slewing bearings are applied in heavy working machines and operated in extreme conditions. A characteristic feature of these bearings are a high load which determining a large deflection of a contact zone rolling element - raceway. This phenomenon combined with the effects of a bearing clearance causes a significant increase in a contact angle of the bearing. This in turn causes displacement of the contact zone to an undesirable position. In the construction of slewing bearing is applied of a large value of the osculation ratio. This leads to occur of large sizes of the contact zone identified in a radial cross-section. The sizes are comparable to values of the radius of the ball. The contact zone is type of quasi-linear. Effects of changes the position of the contact zone in the double-row ball slewing bearing has been presented in the paper. The raceway profile for such bearing consists of the arc section changing in the radial section. When the contact zone includes a change point of curvature of the raceway profile it comes to a concentration of a contact stress, and this is unfavourable for operation of the bearing. In order to eliminate this phenomenon to the profile introduced a transition curve. For this purpose was selected a clothoid. The curve ensures a gradual change of curvature from the arc section of the profile to the zero curvature of the straight profile section. The raceway profile becomes the smooth curve of the second rank. In the article are presented a numerical model of the contact zone for the double-row ball slewing bearing and the distributions of a pressure in the contact zone for the ordinary and modified raceway profiles. The calculation results have been presented as graphs of the distributions of the pressure along the contact zone. It has been shown that the introduction modification of the raceway profile eliminates the concentration of the pressure along the contact zone profile. The results obtained can be used during design of the raceway profiles of the double-row ball slewing bearing.

Opis:
In the article the development process of lubricants applied to the porous sliding bearings is described and characterised. Porous bearings are widely used in mechanical vehicles, household appliances and manufacturing equipment. However their application to tribological pairs is believed to be limited because of their properties and features such as small resistance to edge and dynamic loads, ability to work only at small sliding velocity. For the last twenty years intensive research under the development of the porous bearings has been observed and newly designed porous bearings have occurred. In that process also lubricants were developed. As the result the range of used lubricants is wider and also their chemical constitution was changed from the mineral oils to the synthetic bases giving better resistance on aging process and better rheological characteristics. Each group of lubricants was characterised and the problems of lubricant selection and application were described. In the article it was also noticed that especially the Polish manufacturers of porous materials do not regard the problem of lubricant selection seriously. Finally, it was summarised that wider selection of new lubricants for the porous bearings enables proper design of the tribological pair for the future work conditions.

Opis:
The tests described in the article are related to the project of a high-altitude scientific rocket, which is expected to be built in the Institute of Aviation. The unguided rocket will be launched from a platform with a relatively long start beam and will be supported by slides at the start. Because of the relatively high rocket mass and nearly horizontal start needed for initial rocket tests, its slides will be under extremely high load defined as a combination of pressure and sliding velocity. In addition to the mechanical load, the slides will be also loaded thermally because of the friction in a pair: slide-guide rail (made of hard-anodized aluminium alloy). This leads to rapid wear of the slides. The aim of the tests was to establish what the friction coefficient between the slide and the guide rail is (as function of mechanical load) and how big slide-wear in a single work cycle (simulation of a single rocket launch) is. The tests were performed for few material samples: two modern plastics used in so-called “linear systems” (offered by a firm, which is one of the leaders on this market), samples made of well-known and widely used materials like cotton-phenolic textolite and well-known samples of material called Teflon (PTFE – polytetrafluoroethylene) with 15% addition of graphite. Results show that the temperature resistant plastic used in general linear systems at our condition are on the verge of wear according to our model. Textolite and Teflon with graphite addition have better characteristics of wear. They can be safely used as material of slides.

HDD slide micro- bearings
hyperbolic journal shapes
Opis:
The aim of the presented paper is presenting the shapes of HDD micro-bearing journal, which have influence on the enhancement of memory capacity. Moreover the asymmetrically grooved lateral surfaces of journal bearings generate the asymmetric pressure distribution, which leads to concentric rotation and eccentricity of a rotor. Most of the stiffness coefficient due to asymmetric grooves and hyperbolic shapes of lateral journal surfaces are bigger than those of the conventional cylindrical micro-bearings without grooves. The damping coefficients and friction torque due to asymmetric grooves and hyperbolic shapes of lateral journal surfaces are slightly bigger than those of the conventional cylindrical micro-bearings without grooves. The asymmetric grooves of hyperbolic micro journal bearings may have advantages in terms of small whirls radius and large dynamic coefficients occurring during the bearing exploitation. The idea of seeking of the slide micro-bearings with optimum of the capacity memory was implied from the author's investigation of human joints, which fulfil the role of intelligent bio-bearings. This paper investigates the dynamic behaviour of HDD micro-bearings with hyperbolic journal lateral shapes, by solving the proper Reynolds equation and the equation of a motion of a HDD spindle system. This paper presents the friction forces calculation in hydrodynamic HDD micro bearing lubrication with hyperbolic shapes of journals.

In this paper the distribution of pressure on surfaces of the screw's connections with preload tension is considered. A joining model which is used in rolling bearing is the subject of the analysis. The aim of the work is to introduce an auxiliary criterion of 'connection tightness' to the calculating methodology of bearings' fastening connections with building structure. Considered part of the three-row roller bearing, rings bearings and mounting elements are modelled solid type, and the bolts are modelled with beam-type element introduced preload tension value equivalent catalogue. Connected elements of the screw head rigid elements. The screws used in such a combined coronary bearings are not close fit, and established contact between the surfaces of the rings and the building is not homogeneous. Work is not only dedicated to the stress of contact between the contact surfaces A and B, but also considered is the effect of pitch spacing of the screws on the pitch rolling element bearing in the numerical solution ADINA system was used to prepare numerical models of junction. The results of the calculations of pressure distributions for changeable screw's span are shown graphically and the table of percentages of the load loss of contact between the surfaces A and B of slewing bearing screw connection.

Scientific problems considered in this paper presenting the achievements are mainly focused on comparisons of tribological processes, which occur during flow of biological fluids around joint cartilage cells during lubrication of human joint surfaces as well as surfaces of micro- and nano-bearings used in micro-mechanisms. The tissue growth presented in this paper is the process of change of mass of a biological system defined by genetic (congenital) factors and dependent on epigenetic (environmental) factors (temperature, mechanical stress and strain, internal and external physical fields, etc.). This paper shows effects of influence of congenial growth and genetic code of bio-bearing or bio-joints material on the lubricant viscosity and lubricant process. In living tissues there is a growth strain defined by genetic code and depending on many other factors (such as temperature, force factors, chemical substances, etc.). A general theory of materials with memory is the theory of simple fluid developed by Noll and Koleman. The simple fluid theory described in this paper is based on the assumption that stress is defined by a whole deformation history.

In the paper some problems concerning relations between external bearing loadings and critical lining stresses are described for test stand with rotating load vector. According to the standard ISO 7905/1 this type of test stand, for dynamically loaded slide bearing, is recommended as a basic research unit for material testing in a complete bearing unit. The lining stress calculation results occurred being dependent on applied calculation model. The influence of sliding surface shape and housing stiffness on bearing fatigue have been considered. The MWO-stand operational principle, standard tested half-bearing, bearing housing of rigid profile, bearing housing of edge elastic profile, distribution of radial and circumferential stress in the slide layer of the bearing bush tested in MWO stand, typical damage of the bearing tested, finite element model geometry for bush and housing are illustrated in the paper. Performed calculations revealed that neglecting the shape and dimensions of the housing in calculation model of the contemporary thin-walled multilayer bearing bushes are leading to incorrect evaluation of critical stresses leading to fatigue cracks in slide layers of the bearing tested in machines with rotary load vector. That kind of bearing alloys is not employed in highly dynamically loaded bearings of contemporary machines, especially in IC engine bearing systems.

In this paper describes the study on the adhesion forces at a nano-contact and micro- and at a nano-lubrication. Here are elaborated the dependences between oil dynamic viscosity in super thin boundary layer and adhesion forces as well influences of adhesion forces in micro- and nano-level on the friction forces in micro- and nano-scale arising between two cooperating surfaces in micro-bearings. Up to now the influence of adhesion on oil viscosity changes and on the oil flow in micro-bearing gap was not considered in analytical way. Present paper elaborates the preliminary assumptions of hydrodynamic theory of lubrication for micro-bearing in the case if during the lubrication the adhesion forces are taking into account. In this paper are derived theformulas of pressure distributions, friction forces and friction coefficients where the adhesion forces are considered. The changes of adhesion forces in micro-contact of two bodies dependon the load direction. Load carrying capacity increases implied by the oil dynamic viscosity increases caused by the adhesion and cohesion forces attain about from 20% to 30% in comparison to the viscosity and capacity values in classical form.
