Opis:
It should be noted first of all, that professional ethics is a certain particularisation of general ethics. This particularisation does not mean, however, that in comparison with the general ethics, it addresses minor issues dealing with fragments of reality, or the problems faced by only a certain group of people engaged in particular profession. Problems of professional ethics are basically the same problems which general ethics is trying to solve, the same in the sense that there is no difference between general values and the values realized by exercising a profession or difference between moral virtues in general and the virtues which appear to be particularly important for those practicing a specific profession. Truth, for example, is a moral value, irrespective of whether it is the truth within the understanding of a journalist, teacher or doctor, as well as truthfulness is a virtue, regardless of whether it is a truthful journalist, doctor, etc. This also means that any decisions made within professional ethics are also valid for all members of the community. Recognizing for example that one of the basic moral standards of medical ethics is the duty of concern for the patient, we recognize at the same time, that this injunction applies in all situations in which one man’s welfare depends on the behaviour of another. The primary objective of professional ethics is not, therefore, to determine moral standards for situations that happen only sporadically in everyday life of the most people, and which therefore would apply primarily within the relevant professional groups.

In order to live a human being needs other people and they in return need him or her. This general truth acquires particular significance when a person has to face some critical situation and becomes dependant on the help from others, be it for bad health condition, for social, economic or other reasons. The primary and fundamental precondition of successful handling of any critical situation therefore is the knowledge of the mystery of human being, his/her value and dignity. This, in my opinion, can only be achieved via thorough application of basic social principles in everyday praxis. The values stemming from these principles are derived from and reflect human nature; they aren’t mere objects of a certain faith but appear comprehensible by reason too.

Opis:
The relativistic models of the political nature cannot fulfil the indispensable criteria of the ethical dimension of the trans-modern era. If we need a wider definition of bio-ethics we have to answer three basic questions and such people need to live a moral life and make good ethical decisions. What are my obligations concerning recruitment of different people whose life can depend on my actions? How can I contribute to serve common good for the good public interest as the member of society? Then they will have to answer the questions and be responsible for bio-policy. Bio-policy in the bioethic dimensions will have to offer the global society of the all-European system of the rational connection to save the mankind from extinction on Earth. You will have to create and carry out supranational projects to eliminate people’s destructive behaviours. Relativistic political models are not able to fulfil the necessary ethical dimension of the transmodern society by their fundamentals. If more widely defined bioethics has to answer three basic questions: What personality should I be to live a moral life and take good ethical decisions?; What are my obligations and duties towards other people whose lives can be influenced by my activity?; How can I, as a member of the society, contribute to a common wealth or common interest? Then these questions should be answered also by a responsible biopolitician. Holistic or whole person medicine perceives a personality of a patient within bio-psycho-socio-spiritual dimensions. This view requires a favourable all-society climate and tolerance. Chinese traditional philosophy with its responsibility for life in the context of minimalist multicultural ethos may be incentive individual metaphysical heritage also for a Slovak politician, voter, heatlh worker, and patient. The naturo-dialectical philosophy of life of the classical Chinese social conscience speaks about ethical principles and morality of meek obedience of a man towards the laws of nature and the universe of haven as about a life regulating macroorganism, an internal part of which a man is, too. The ideals of harmonious unity and mutual modesty emphasise the ideal of accentuation of all-society interests over the interests of an individual. The systemic view perceives the world on the base of relationships and integration, the cohesion of live organisms is non-linear, therefore the live organisms work in unbalance with autoregulation. This characteristic applies to biopsyche as well as to a socio-cultural level. The holistic approach to health and healing draws on traditional cultures, e.g. on the phenomenon of medicine-men practice. The East Asian model of health consists in the integration of the psychological and social factors into the system of health care, it calculates for the model of the dynamic balance. The future system of health care should consist in an effective system of preventive health care adopting a personal and social responsibility for health. The health care policy should include the legislation for prevention of health risks and also the social policy. A profound ecological perceptivity, observation and education are the preconditions for the application of the political model on the base of the global biopolitics.

In this article we indicate some philosophic sources and inspirations from Alfred Adler. Adler’s theory is considered as applied ethic and is saturated by ethic. In this context we describe how Adler’s theory is inspired by Darwin, Marx, Nietzsche and Kant theory. We intend on Adler’s approach in context of Socrates style. At the conclusion we point to secular ethic of Alfred Adler and describe some connexions of this theory to religion.

The article deals with the issue of the importance of ethics for the manager. It emphasizes the importance of its application in terms of a competitive advantage, which may not only play a role as a factor but also a key indicator. In addition to the general context of managerial ethics, the article mentions the context of metatics and applied ethics. The authors believe that the necessary penetration of both ethical disciplines is the most pervasive in prescriptionism. The article is also a challenge to work on linking methetics and applied ethics.

Opis:
Ethics of sexuality is an exceptional field within the realm of ethics, due to its close connection with extra-ethical concepts, mainly religious ones. This fact differentiates sexual ethics from other ethical disciplines, such as ethics of business or eco-ethics. This is because, however one can talk about Christian or non-Christian (e.g. utilitarian) concepts within those ethics, there is no way one could talk about utilitarian ethics of sexuality: such ethics as a separate discipline simply do not exist. In my article I would like to formulate and justify values and principles relating to sexual relations. In order to do so, one has on one hand to consider the values formulated by Christian ethics, as well as the principles built on them – and, on the other hand, to look at arguments for including the sphere of sexuality within “lay” ethical reflexion. In my considerations as main research problem I pose the thesis: should sexual drive and the behaviours immediately resulting therefrom undergo ethical evaluation, or as a private sphere, they should remain outside the scope of interest of ethics.

Opis:
To understand the Socratic assertion that it is better to suffer injustice than to practice it, we must bear in mind that this was said against the Sophists. One of the interlocutors of Socrates had planned as an ideal the life of a tyrant, that is, of someone who can do what he wants, without any other consideration, and nothing can contradict him. For this sophist it is inconceivable that there are those who do not wish to be able to suffer others, as is possible. It would be unthinkable if he could impose his interests on others if he did not know. Hu- man excellence consists in your life, being without hindrance. Socrates considers that the sophist was mistaken about the tre nature of happiness, since the life of a tyrant is a miserable life, which nothing in his judgment should desire. A tyrant can not trust anything or anything. His life is based on power over others, and not receive from them a true recognition, not being able to expect any friendship. Rather you should take a lot of precautions to enter into a “likeness” relationship. The mutual reciprocity of friendship would shake the invulnerable core of his position. The tyrant can not and should not configure something like a confidence towards the world. For Socrates, justice is a kind of relationship with the world that enables mutual trust and abandonment. From here we can say that injustice causes discord and hatred, while justice brings harmony and friendship. Thus, not even the tyrant can be confident in himself. The will to live according to his desires makes him a slave to these desires, preventing him from acquiring a stable relationship with himself and thus makes it impossible for him to live as a friend of himself, that is, as a person who respects and protects Own well-understood interest. Ordinary life is for Plato the place of true happiness, where he can only be friends with himself, who is capable of being friends with others. But the friendship of others is only within reach of those who behave generally - in the face of those who are not friends - in such a way that they cultivate the form of a potentially friendly tract with others. Justice is that virtue that guides action in this common way of life. That is why Socrates can say that it is better to suffer injustice than to commit it. He who commits injustice destroys the foundations of his happiness, while the sufferer, in spite of adversity, does not lose the goals to achieve happiness. Here begins the sense of vulnerability, from ontology to phenomenology, through ethics.

As defined globalization movement of goods, capital, the movement of people and ideas across the world. The economic dimension of globalization is based on the disappearance of barriers to trade between countries. That disappearance of barriers is a growing process which comprises more areas of the globe, although it should be emphasized that a variety of reasons, some areas of the world remain excluded from it. Globalization is not a new phenomenon, because in the history of the world, people have always traded with each other, traveling and got to know each other. Moreover, in the history of mankind, there are periods in which the processes taking place already similar in some respects to contemporary globalization. Show here can rise to the Roman Empire, the colonization of the New World and the creation of the United States and other countries postcolonial. Today, due to advances in technology, these processes occur much faster and on a larger scale, including, as the name suggests, the entire globe.

It is often assumed in business ethics publications that a business activity is a kind of a profession, and that is why business ethics is treated as the professional ethics. However, such an approach does not seem well-founded because the notion of business does not mean only one, possible to define precisely, kind of activity. One could admittedly recognize that business ethics is the ethics of a businessman; that is, a person being the owner of the enterprise and managing it. However, presenting the issue in such a way, would exclude the activity of these enterprises which do not have a sole proprietor(e.g. state-owned enterprises and joint-stock companies) from the competence of business ethics.

It is particularly important for media to respect certain ethical norms related to politics due to the fact that they are for the vast majority of their own customers the only source of political information. In as much as media recipients are able to get to know many areas of their reality in a direct way so as to confront any media coverage with their own viewpoint, the politics as such does not allow for such an opportunity. The recipients cannot therefore act according to the principle (which admittedly belongs more to the field of rationality than morality) requiring them to favour only direct contact with their reality when it comes to particularly significant matters1, with political decisions belonging to such a scope of issues. It also appears that the recipients are obliged to formulate clear expectations towards media, so that they provide, if possible, a comprehensive and impartial set of information and opinions on matters of the politics. This approach can be effective due to the functioning of certain media mechanisms requiring to adapt the content to the tastes and expectations of the widest possible audiences.

Speaking of the media, I mean the whole of the press (newspapers and magazines), radio, television, and in recent years the Internet (or at least so-called Internet portals). This demonstrative definition of media also appeared in a number of studies on media and media ethics. This definition does not include, however, the complexity of the media, says nothing about the overt and covert mechanisms linking media with its social, economic and political surroundings, and finally does not indicate the purpose of the media, which seem to be essential both to differentiate what media really stands for and what does not, as well as to evaluate ethically the behaviour of the media. Therefore, in this article first I will describe the basic objectives of the media, then I will draw attention to their formal and informal structure and will discuss the basic requirements, which should be met by the media ethics.
