Objectives of the research: The aim of this study was to gather information about preschool teachers’ expectations and attitudes toward outdoor education in the context of shaping and improving the quality of education. The study sought to collect material that would address the following research questions: What does outdoor education mean to preschool teachers? How do preschool teachers implement outdoor activities? What are the challenges of outdoor education according to the surveyed teachers? Research methods: The main research method used was a focus interview.  A brief description of the context of the issue: Human beings are connected to nature, we are part of it, and we live and function thanks to it. From early childhood, the natural environment is the closest and most natural for humans, and thanks to our cognitive needs and childlike perceptiveness, we immerse ourselves in the world of nature spontaneously and with great interest. Preschool teachers should see meeting children’s need for curiosity and discovery of new knowledge as a challenge, and prioritize activities in this area. Furthermore, the natural environment, due to its resources, can be perceived as a workshop that teaches knowledge about the world, allows for developing children’s vocabulary and shaping new concepts. It also teaches humility, patience and understanding. The environment naturally enhances the activity of children who feel comfortable in nature. Research findings: The importance of outdoor education in children’s development has been discussed for years. Unfortunately, as the results of the survey suggest, this does not convince teachers to move part of the educational process outdoors. Teachers list certain limitations and shortcomings as factors that prevent the implementation of this approach in Polish preschool institutions. Conclusions and recommendations: The teachers participating in the focus groups recognize that the implementation of outdoor education activities in kindergartens is necessary, if not indispensable. They see outdoor education primarily as an opportunity for experience-based learning and connecting with nature. The teachers are sufficiently motivated to offer outdoor activities so that children can play and learn simultaneously. However, many see significant obstacles in the education system when planning outdoor learning experiences for their students. To make outdoor education more sustainable and integrated into preschool practices, it would be necessary to remove these barriers and provide support at all levels of the education system and society.

Multicultural education is a cross-cutting theme in the state educational programme ISCED 1 – primary education. In primary education, multicultural education can be taught as a separate subject or it can be included in other ongoing subjects. When applying multicultural education it is also important that the teacher doesn’t have prejudices against any ethnic group or nationality. He/she should also use appropriate methods that lead to pupils becoming more tolerant.

The article begins with a review and analysis of the literature on educational reform in Finland, with particular reference to values education and secular ethics. The analysis of the curriculum began with a review of the literature on secular ethics in Finnish basic education. The next stage was to analyse the curriculum along with the curricular guidelines and support for primary schools in grades 3–6, especially with regard to what is applicable to all schools in Finland; this involved a review of the literature on educational reform in Finland, values in teaching and secular ethics. The article addresses a key issue in curriculum policy: ethics education in grades 3–6. The article explores what is embodied in this policy, especially the objectives of the subject of ethics.  The problem method and critical discourse analysis were applied to the study of documents concerning educational reform and the study of discourses in political rhetoric. The problem method is based on an educational phenomenon related to time and society, so it was necessary to contrast the different views presented in contemporary Finnish education and to examine various consistent factors. Education here is thus an interaction between the various sets of teachers’ values and the ongoing construction of students’ values. This method of primary education encourages appropriate conditions for lifelong learning for each student. Suggested lessons may include discussions with students about values so that students perceive the variance in values and are able to think about them in a constructive and critical manner.

Opis:
The term entrepreneurship has been seen from a productive perspective, tending towards the development of business ideas. However, today it is also associated with the strengthening of skills and attitudes on a personal level. In Colombia, Law 1014 of 2006 regulates entrepreneurship as part of academic training, at all educational levels. Despite it being an initiative raised by the government, concrete actions on the subject are being directed by teachers in classrooms. For this reason, the views of high school teachers, through the lens of qualitative research, are essential for exploring the reality that education occupies in this aspect, and that increasingly highlights some obstacles which hinder its progress. Therefore, the aim of this article – immersed in the framework of a doctoral thesis about the practices of entrepreneurship among high school teachers in public schools in Bogotá – is to expose which actions have been aimed at integrating entrepreneurship into Colombian high school education from the experience of teachers, as well as to unveil their criticism of the absence of the entrepreneurial process from the first grades established in the law, the role of the National Service of Learning (SENA) as an important institution in Colombia related to entrepreneurship in the classrooms, the lack of a more human vision that is less focused on production in entrepreneurship education, and the huge gap in teacher training in the area.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to present the results of the analysis on diversity of the education attainment of women and men in the European Union countries. By implementing such a purpose, it is possible to present not only heterogeneity in education on the basis of gender but also disproportions between individual EU countries. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The article raises three important research problems: education, gender equality and diversification within the European Union countries. The analysis covers 28 EU countries and a period of 10 years: 2007 - 2016. The research method used in the paper is the analysis and criticism of the literature and taxonomic analysis using a set of diagnostic variables describing selected aspects of education. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The line of reasoning consists of three essential elements. The first part presents the problem of education with particular emphasis on gender gap according to international literature on the subject. The second part contains description of the research tools and methods. Part three of the article presents the results of the comparative study in the field of education of woman and man in the European Union members. RESEARCH RESULTS: The research results are consistent with previous studies indicating that the level of education of women is higher than that of men. The level of diversity of education of women and men in individual EU countries is moderate. Among the most educated economies, the Scandinavian countries should be indicated. On the other side are the countries of southern Europe. The most numerous group of countries are countries with a moderately high and medium-high level of education. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: This type of research can have significant useful value for shaping the education policy of women and men and other development policies. Considering the importance of education of women and men, there are definitely more possibilities of confronting the results of research with various areas of the economy. The lack of this is definitely disadvantage of the elaboration. On the other hand, this is a significant impulse and recommendation for continuing and deepening research in this area.

The importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in nowadays business reality is constantly growing thanks to many factors, including the important promotional effort at all possible authorities levels and increasing educational effort of universities and in particular of business schools. Since there is no commonly accepted guideline/curriculum/content of social responsibility (SR) education, business schools at higher education institutions (HEIs) start to develop their own approaches on SR education. This paper aims to present the general background of CSR education with particular emphasis on its enhancements existing in EU and other countries or continents. Its ambition is also to offer a picture of CSR related educational activities launched by Polish HEIs and to present its evaluation by students. The first goal will be accomplished with the literature study and the review of initiatives publicly disclosed by the authorities, NGOs and finally by HEIs themselves. The second ambition will be completed with the outcomes of the survey conducted by the author in Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), Faculty of Management and Economics (FME). The conclusions of this work allow to propose recommendations to be implemented in the SR education in the future.

The article presents the ideas behind forest kindergartens, as well as their interconnection with the Montessori Method. It also includes a brief history of forest kindergartens, both around the world and in Poland, and the characteristics of how they function. The presented data are based on the analysis of source materials, including information found on forest kindergartens’ websites, documents such as the project of “The Pedagogical Concept of Forest Kindergartens Operating in Partnership with the Polish Institute of Forest Kindergartens,” the available research results and the literature on the topic, the telephone verification of the validity of the data shown on the internet map of forest kindergartens in Poland, and participant observations carried out i.a. in “Puszczyk” forest kindergarten in Białystok. The objective of the conducted research was to analyse forest kindergartens and Montessori kindergartens, paying special attention to the similarities in their functioning. As a result of the scientific work, numerous links between the two forms of alternative education were found and these are set out in the article. Moreover, a selection of several Polish kindergartens which draw inspiration from the idea of forest kindergartens and the Montessori education system are presented herein. All of this shows that such a combination turns out to be an interesting proposition for pre-school education, both for the founders of kindergartens and the recipients of the offer – pre-school children and their parents.

Degradacja środowiska naturalnego oraz niekorzystne dla zdrowia trendy życia współczesnego społeczeństwa; związane z ograniczeniem aktywności ruchowej; stawiają nowe wymagania przed organizatorami edukacji przedszkolnej. Dotyczą one przede wszystkim rozwijania świadomości ekologicznej i zdrowotnej wśród młodego pokolenia.
The degradation of the environment, and also the trend in contemporary lifestyle adverse from the point of view of society and connected with restricting physical activity, result in new requirements faced by the organisers of pre-school education. These requirements are relevant, first and foremost, to the development of environmental and health awareness amongst the young generation. Traditional nursery schools take under consideration the above-mentioned issues while drawing up and implementing their curricula, nevertheless, those curricula fail to solve the problems of health, such as, for instance, posture defects, vision defects, a low level of the development of communication competences, and the feeling of alienation. In the light of the outlined needs, the conception of forest nursery schools, which is dynamically developing in the countries of Western Europe, but not only there, is a proposal worth considering. This conception has reached Poland as well. In this article, the outline of the history, the philosophical-didactic foundations of forest nursery schools, together with the development of them all over the world and in Poland, are presented.

The paper deals with problems in the process of educating deaf pupils. In the face of systemic changes and discussions among representatives of the scientific community and practitioners in the social sciences about an education model for deaf pupils, a system-based triad was established: special education–integrated education–inclusive educa- tion, within which attempts are made to reach solutions that would be beneficial to all of the actors involved in these processes. The analy- sis presents an evaluation of each of the educational systems, not only of experts from among hearing people, but also of hearing parents and those most concerned with their education, i.e., deaf people. The changes presented in this paper and related to the process of educating deaf pupils indicate a broad context of determinants in the implementation of the triad system.

Opis:
From the outset, Italian education has been interested in the message of films and cinema’s power of persuasion. Prior to the advent of television, education viewed cinema with suspicion for the alleged damage it caused to the minds of young people. Later, it would view cinema as a means of fascist ideological propaganda. From the 1920s onwards, schools would use cinema as a teaching aid through the so-called “educational cinema”. Since 1960, schools have aimed to teach formal analysis and film content. On the threshold of the new millennium, the revolution in school autonomy obliged every educational institution to independently manage the financial resources allocated to them. This involved the arrival in schools of external experts who were entrusted with media education: they were supported by an internal tutor while the school coordinated the professionals who spe-cialized in cinema; meanwhile the subject teacher entered the Internet era with the innovation of the interactive whiteboard, assuming the role of multimedia author. Thus began the training of teachers within schools, who were registered on the national list of Visual Education Workers.
