Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of this work is to presents the concept of innovation and its function in an enterprise. The sources and types of innovations have been described in this work. Innovation strategies used in enterprises were also presented. Design/methodology/approach: Due to the cognitive nature of the article, the aim of the work will be achieved using the method of analyzing the literature on the subject. Literature studies include Polish and foreign publications. Findings: Innovations are a multi-faceted concept and relate to various areas of a company’s operation – products, distribution channels, business processes, service methods, relationship with business partners, marketing and strategic alliances, etc. Nowadays, innovations are the most compelling way to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Innovation strategy depends on the type and size of the enterprise, as well as a company’s financial capabilities. Thanks to financing innovative activities, a company has a chance to achieve long-term growth. In today’s world, it is difficult to survive without innovations. Innovative enterprises have become the driving force of the economy. Originality/value: The article is a review of the literature on innovation. This work can help entrepreneurs who want to innovate their companies and achieve long-term growth. Managers can choose the optimal innovation strategy appropriate for the enterprise.

Purpose: The article attempts to show that the effective marketing is a key condition for achieving large profits in mobile app development. Design/methodology/approach: Promising IT projects can, very often, end in a disaster if people do not choose the right strategy of sales. There are many promotional activities available as well. This study investigates different types of business models that are currently used in the marketing of mobile applications. Findings: Different types of business models will be compared with their effectiveness and popularity. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of different strategies will be reviewed. Moreover, aspects, which influence the final revenue from the application, will also be shown. Originality/value: The entire discussion and the selection of the best strategy will be summarized.

Opis:
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present the way a company may disclose information on the strategy in an Integrated Report (IR) and explain the value creation. In this way the aim is also to determine the extent to which companies have actually embraced an integrated perspective of corporate reporting. Design/methodology/approach: The study is an exploratory one. It considers the extent to which companies are dealing with strategy-related issue of value creation in their Integrated Reports. The article uses the method based on a textual analysis of an Integrated Report of a Polish company having the longest experience in the publication of IR focusing on the strategy disclosure. Findings: Ex-ante information on a company’s intended strategy is requested by investors but it is largely non-financial (describes management’s projected course of action) and often not verifiable, therefore its credibility may be questioned. Originality/value: The examination if the IR was prepared in accordance with the 10 elements of a long-term strategy, created by FCLT Global (2015).

Opis:
The article discusses the issue of strategies implemented in Polish farms and innovations created as a result. On farms, as well as in enterprises from other industries, net income is assumed as the main goal. In order to achieve it, the direction of development is defined, which may be manifested, for example, by directing production, modernization of the farm or increasing production efficiency. To this end, a strategy is created and implemented in the farms, as a result of which innovation takes place. The objective is to achieve a competitive advantage and maximize net income. Research purpose of this work is to identify the implemented strategies and innovations introduced, as a result, in Polish farms.

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of the article is to analyze the strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats of the scientific unit (Faculty) and assess the development possibilities of this unit. Design/methodology/approach: The main research problem undertaken concerns the analysis of the Faculty's Development Strategy based on the main source document which is the Faculty's Development Strategy for 2012-2020. Based on a specific research problem, the following hypotheses were formulated: effective management of the Faculty's operation influences the achievement of the set goal of the Faculty's development, efficient monitoring of the Department's strategy allows the organization to operate effectively, a properly prepared strategy should be based on the correct recognition of the potential of the organization and the environment. Findings: The analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats has allowed us to verify hypotheses and identify problems that the Unit may face in the future. Research limitations/implications: Based on the analysis of the Faculty's interior and surroundings, it should be stated that the Faculty's Development Strategy should be evaluated in the near future. A strategy monitoring system should also be developed taking into account the results obtained. Practical implications: The recommendation is to develop a staff development strategy, which may contribute to accelerating the independence of the Faculty and, consequently, to obtain doctoral rights. Originality/value: The article can be used by the Faculty authorities as a recommendation regarding the implementation of the Strategy and in making key strategic decisions.

Opis:
The content of the article touches the problem of barriers concerning CSR implementation. Corporate social responsibility is a conception of management which is more and more popular among Polish enterprises, but some companies still have some problems related to CSR. The author presents the selected external and internal barriers and limits of CSR implementation in the light of own research. The aim of the article is to analyze the most important limitations of CSR on the example of socially responsible enterprises highlighted in the "Równa Firma" Poll in 2018. The priority of the "Równa Firma" Poll is to award socially responsible companies from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The survey was carried out in enterprises from various sectors. The elimination of these barriers can help to implement socially responsible practices in chosen Polish enterprises.

As the Report on Corporate Social Responsibility shows, there is no specified government institution, except Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Economy, dealing with CSR in Slovakia. CSR networks are operated by NGOs. The survey of UNDP and the University of Bratislava (2011) shows, that only 26% of business associations are active in promoting CSR. Most of them are large companies or multinational corporations. There is much to improve in this area. Core strategies supporting sustainable corporate social strategy do not seek short-term profit; they help to create prosperous economy.
Jak pokazuje Raport o Społecznej Odpowiedzialności Biznesu, nie ma określonej instytucji rządowej, z wyjątkiem Ministerstwa Spraw Społecz¬nych i Ministerstwa Gospodarki, zajmujących się CSR na Słowacji. Sieci CSR są obsługiwane przez organizacje pozarządowe. Badanie UNDP i Uniwersytetu w Bratysławie (2011) pokazuje, że tylko 26% stowarzyszeń biznesowych jest aktywnych w promowaniu CSR. Większość z nich to duże firmy lub korporacje. Jest wiele do poprawy w tym obszarze. Podstawowe strategie wspierające zrównoważoną strategię korporacyjną społecznej odpowiedzialności nie szukają zysków krótkoterminowych; pomagają tworzyć prosperującą gospodarkę.

Purpose: The purpose of the article is to analyse the most significant factors determining the implementation of CSR within an enterprise on the example of socially responsible entities highlighted in the “Równa Firma” ranking, organized every year by students and employees of the Faculty of Economics, Finance and Management of the University of Szczecin, affiliated with the Biznes Innowacje Networking Foundation. Design/methodology/approach: This is a research paper, in which the author utilized the survey method. The research was carried out among 25 enterprises awarded with honourable mentions by the committee in the “Równa Firma” ranking in 2018. Findings: The article addresses the issues related to determinants of the implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility. It is worth noting, that many motives for the use of CSR are presented in both Polish and foreign literature. The article focuses on the factors which have an impact on implementation of the concept of CSR on the basis of own surveys. Research limitations/implications: The results of the research cannot be generalised, but can form a basis for further deliberations. They shed certain light on possible main determinants of implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility in some enterprises. In the future, it is suggested to perform similar research on the presented topics in a larger group of enterprises. Originality/value: This paper provides research results on the most significant factors determining the implementation of CSR in chosen enterprises of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland.

In the case of competing industries, proper assessment of needs and opportunities supported by market analysis and forecast allows adopting strategies for dealing with competition. Coopetition of services is one of the possibilities for the development of entities. The article indicates the reasons for competition cooperation. This cooperation may result from the expectations to increase the scale of impact, reduce operating costs or offer an extended package of services. This causes the need to study customer needs and identify market trends, and consequently build scenarios that are answer to them and allow to adapt to market changes.

Purpose: The paper presents the issues related to the movement of capital in the world economy on the example of China. Design/methodology/approach: The study used the World Bank reports from the last ten years. Findings: The findings indicate that, after 2008, developing countries are becoming more and more important industrial producers and markets, establishing a numerous middle class, resulting in the so-called global shift of production and demand in the global economy. The beneficiary of this transfer process is primarily the Chinese economy. Originality/value The publication presents the results of research conducted on the basis of the World Bank reports on capital movements around the world.

Purpose: The paper aims to show the application of the Balanced Scorecard in a mining services company as a tool enabling the implementation of the company's strategy. Design/methodology/approach: The aim of the paper will be achieved through web/desk research, critical analysis of literature on the topic of the paper and case study. Findings: The article contains a literature study of the Balanced Scorecard and indicates how important the development and implementation of the strategy is in the activities of mining services companies. The process of developing the strategy and its implementation is shown on the example of a mining services company (Polish abbreviation p.u.g.), existing on the mining industry market for more than twenty years, employing from 300 to 500 employees, depending on the situation in the market, with a defined mission and vision. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) was used as a tool for translating the company's strategy into its operations. The strategic objectives and their measures, as well as the conditions for adopting BSC into the operations of a mining services company, are presented. Originality/value: The example of the application of the Balanced Scorecard in the selected mining services company presented in the article may serve as an example for other mining companies.
