Opis:
This study was designed to provide an objective description of egg quality of Isa brown layer chickens in Nigeria. 104 eggs were used for the study. The eggs were initially weighed individually using a sensitive electronic weighing balance with accuracy of 0.001g. Data were collected on egg weight, egg length, egg width, oblong circumference, egg shell weight, yolk height, albumen height, albumen length, Haugh unit, albumen index and egg shell thickness. Data were subjected to principal component analysis. Egg quality traits had three principal components (factors) that contributed 85.805% of the total variability of the original eleven egg characteristics tested. The three principal components had Eigen values of 4.73 (PC1), 3.656 (PC2) and 1.069 (PC3). The first factor (PC1) accounted for 42.84% of the total variance, the second factor (PC2) accounted for 33.24% of the total variance, while the third factor (PC3) accounted for 9.72% of the total variance. The moderate to large communalities (0.583 – 0.944) observed indicate that a large number of variance has been accounted for by the factor solution. The present principal component analysis provided a means for objective description of the interdependence in the original eleven egg quality characteristics of Isa Brown layer chickens.

Opis:
Genotypic differences in biomass yield of many crops are mainly associated with variations in leaf area. Physiological growth analysis is the important in prediction of the performance of genotypes during plant growth. Therefore, the field experiment was conducted to study growth characteristics of common bean genotypes at Hawassa university agriculture research site. Three genotypes including Red Wolayita, Hawassa Deme and Ibado were evaluated in randomized complete block design with four replications during 2017 using irrigation. Growth analysis was done using primary data from two successive samplings in 20 days interval during linear vegetative growth stage and flowering stage. Growth parameters, specific leaf area (SLA), leaf area ratio (LAR), leaf area ratio (LAI), net assimilation rate (NAR), crop growth rate (CGR), relative growth rate (RGR) and biomass yield and their correlation were determined. The study result revealed that, Red Wollita had the highest specific leaf area (241.975 cm2 g-1) and leaf area ratio (161.36 cm2 g-1), Hawassa Deme had the highest net assimilation rate (27.5 mg dm-2 Day-1), leaf area index (1.35), relative growth rate (48.02 gg-1 day-1), average growth rate (0.1g day-1), crop growth rate (0.03g m-2 day-1) and biomass yield (2989.6 kg/ha). The ANOVA result indicated that, there was highly significant difference (p < 0.01) among genotypes for biomass yield. Correlation of major growth parameters with biomass yield was investigated. Biomass yield had positively highly correlated with net assimilation rate, absolute growth rate, relative growth rate and crop growth rate with correlation coefficient of (r = 0.39, 0.33, 0.42 and 0.56), respectively.

Opis:
To achieve true randomness of numbers, the entropy source needs to be efficient. The statistical testing of efficiency of entropy source is necessary as it is used in random number generators for cryptography, simulation, statistical sampling, etc. 5000 numbers each were generated in four experimental entropy conditions: Control experiment with white light, Experimental conditions with multicoloured light with light path not disrupted, while light with path disrupted by thermocol balls, multicoloured light with path disrupted by thermocol balls. The numbers thus generated using each entropy condition were tested by Auto Correlation Factor Test to identify optimal experimental condition. The results were displayed in graphical and tabular format. The four graphs depicted the autocorrelations clearly showing that the best results were obtained for the fourth experimental condition ‘multicoloured light fan on’. It was found that Autocorrelation factor test is a powerful test for empirical assessment of efficiency of entropy source for random number generation. If the random number generator developed by any individual or organization is tested by Autocorrelation factor test, the efficiency of the entropy source can be pre-established thus preventing post hazards like hacking of random numbers. The security of data is a major concern in all areas such as defense, banking, research, designing and evaluation of examinations, etc.

Opis:
Natural landscape features are considered to be one of the most significant factors determining spatial distribution of tourist traffic in case of long-term holidays. This type of vacations seems to be crucial for economic impact of the tourism, as tourism multiplier points out accommodation as services with largest further turnover. Perception of the natural environment may be very subjective, however some of its elements can be easily measured and compared, thus may be treated as a specific determinant having influence on tourism. Therefore the paper is an attempt to find a statistical relationship, measured by correlation, between the size of forests, protected areas and surface of inland waters, as well as their share in the overall area of administrative units, and the number of beds in tourist accommodation establishments and their occupancy rate in years 2012 and 2014. The research area was Eastern Region of Poland (by NUTS 1 classification), which covers Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie provinces. The advantage of such delimitation is an analysis of areas with inner landscape diversification, from lake sites and plains in the north, through uplands and low hills in the center, to mountains in the south. Moreover, this region is also famous for the presence of numerous and varied forms of nature conservation. In the paper statistical measures were used and the main source of data were databases of Central Statistical Office of Poland.

Opis:
In this paper, we propose a novel SAC-OCDMA code called Shift Zero Cross Correlation (SHIFTZCC) code with zero cross correlation property to minimize the Multiple Access Interface (MAI), to be more scalable and secure compared to the other existing SAC-OCDMA codes. This SHIFTZCC code is constructed using address segment and data segment. In this work, the proposed SHIFTZCC code is implemented in an optical network using the Opti-System software for the spectral amplitude coded optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) scheme. The chief advantage of the proposed SHIFTZCC code is the zero cross correlation property, which reduces both the MAI and other noises improving the system performance. The proposed SHIFTZCC code provides flexibility in selecting the code parameters, supports a large number of users with higher data rate and longer fiber length. Simulation results prove that the optical code division multiple access system based on the proposed SHIFTZCC code supports maximum number of simultaneous users with higher transmission rate, lower bit error rates (BER) and longer travelling distance without any signal quality degradation, as compared to the former existing SAC-OCDMA codes.

Life is considered to be quantitative phenomena based upon principles derived from Astronomy, Physics, and Chemistry. The mass equivalence of the total energy from the Sun that occurred over the terrestrial surface from 3.5 billions ago to present is within the range of empirical estimations for the total biomass on the Earth. If the mass of living systems is the converted photon energy integrated over time then the ubiquitous emissions of photons in the order of picoWatts per square meter may not be a metabolic artifact but a reflection of the matter’s origin. Quantification demonstrates this magnitude of photon flux density is an expected dissipation from the photon-mass conversion that defines living systems. Because all energy, particularly photons, within Life on this planet originated from the Sun their maintenance as Popp (virtual) photons creates the conditions for non-local effects between solar activity and Life. The occurrence of entanglement between solar-terrestrial photons could alter the models, mechanisms, and attributions for the persistent and multiple correlations between solar activity and the phenomena measured within various levels of discourse from physical chemistry to large groups of organisms.

The performance of the proposed 2-D RSC is evaluated in terms of bit error rate (BER), received signal power and time domain analysis of received signals. The system performance of the OCDMA system utilizing 2-D RSC code improved significantly due to less BER, low cross correlation property and simple encoder/decoder design. The output BER is much lower at a data rate of 1.25 gbps and 2.5 gbps for a distance of 100 km with ITU-T standard single mode fiber with attenuation level of 0.2dB/km.
