Ważnym i stosunkowo mało obecnym w dotychczasowej literaturze przedmiotu okresem działalności warsztatu gdańskiego organmistrza Andreasa Hildebrandta były spędzone przede wszystkim w okolicach Elbląga lata 1711–1725. Powstałe w tej fazie działalności Hildebrandta instrumenty były dla organmistrza nie tylko okazją do wypróbowania nowych koncepcji brzmieniowych i technicznych, ale także stanowiły ważną referencję, która – jak się może wydawać – przyczyniła się do ugruntowania renomy warsztatu i otworzyła drogę do późniejszych wielkich zleceń na terenie Gdańska. Artykuł zawiera informacje o instrumentach w kościołach św. Mikołaja, NMP oraz Bożego Ciała w Elblągu, w kościele Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego w Przezmarku, kościele św. Bartłomieja w Pasłęku, kościele Wniebowzięcia NMP w Skowronach oraz kościele Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa w Jelonkach, zbudowanych lub przebudowanych przez Hildebrandta, względnie też jemu przypisywanych.
Spent in Elbląg and its neighbourhood from 1711 to 1725 was important and relatively inexperienced in the current literature period for the activity of the Gdańsk organist AndreasHildebrandt workshop. The instruments created in and around Elbląg in this period offered Hildebrandt not only the opportunity to experiment on new tonal and technical concepts but also constituted an important reference, which seems to have contributed to the reputation of the workshop and opened the way for subsequent large orders in Gdańsk. The article contains information about newly built, rebuilt or attributed to Hildebrandt instruments in Elbląg (churches of St. Nicholas’, St. Mary’s and Corpus Christi), Przezmark (church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross), Pasłęk (St. Barthelemew), Skowrony (church of the Assumption of Mary), Jelonki (church of the Sacred Heart).

Der vorliegende Artikel konzentriert sich auf die Frage der Besiedlung in Elbląg durch die etwa zweihundert Personen zählende Gruppe der Remigranten aus Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die Hauptphase dieser Ansiedlungsaktion fiel in die Jahre 1948–1950. In dem Artikel wird die Genese, der politische Hintergrund, die Bedingtheiten und der Verlauf der Remigration der Repräsentanten aus dem ehemaligen, polnischen Exil in der britischen Besatzungszone Deutschlands beschrieben. Die Mehrzahl der zurückgekehrten Remigranten ließ sich in den westlichen und nördlichen Gebieten Polens, insbesondere in den industrialisierten Regionen von Ober- und Niederschlesien nieder. In den Plänen der Zentralbehörde in Warschau war Elbląg eine der Hauptziele zur Ansiedlung der Heimkehrer aus Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die polnische Remigranten aus Deutschland waren wegen ihrer hohen beruflichen Qualifikation und der Fachkompetenz in den Maschinen- und Metallfabriken in der Stadt Elbląg beschäftigt. Im weiteren Teil werden die Adaptationsprobleme, die Berufsstruktur und die Charakteristik dieses Milieus in Elbląg präsentiert. 1950 wohnten in der Stadt insgesamt 190 polnische Remigranten aus Deutschland. Die politische und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in Polen bewirkte die Hemmung der Rückkehraktion der Auslandspolen und vielleicht läßt sich auch sagen, dass sie zum Misserfolg der ganzen Aktion beitrug.

Dieser Artikel wurde von wissenschaftlichen Forschungen zur Geschichte des Schwesternordens der Benediktinerinnen – Missionarinnen in der Region der ermländischen Diözese (besonders in Kwidzyn nach 1945. Er stützt sich auf geschichtliche Quellen, die vor allem dem Institut des Nationalen Gedächtnisses in Gdańsk entstammen. Die Verfasserin präsentiert in drei nicht zu großen Kapiteln, denen eine Einleitung vorangestellt wurde, das Biogramm des Oppositionellen gegenüber der Volksregierung – Jerzy Kawka (Barycki), des Gründers der illegalen Mitte-Rechts Organisation „Konföderation zur Verteidigung des Glaubens und des Vaterlandes”, seiner Geschichte nach 1946 im Gebiet von Elbląg und Kwidzyn. 1. Zeigt die Titelgestalt bis zum Jahr 1945, 2. Präsentiert Jerzy Kawka Barycki als Gründer und Anführer der Organisation 3. Entblößt Methoden und Grausamkeiten des Apparates der öffentlichen Sicherheit, die in den Vergeltungsmaßnahmen gegenüber geringsten Erscheinungen von Widerstandsorganisationen gegen die Volksmacht in den sogenannten wiedergewonnenen Gebieten angewandt wurden. Es ist ein Beitrag zum Wissen aus der Geschichte der katholischen Kirche in der ermländischen Diözese (1945–1959), gesehen durch das Prisma der Aktivitäten des großen Heeres der Angestellten des Amtes für Sicherheit.

In 1939 the Soviet army occupied Wołyń, devastating there the structures of Catholic Church. A lot of priests from the sites of the pre-war diocese of Lutsk arrived to the diocese of Warmia. Between 1945 and 1987 eight from those priests were staying in Elbląg. Two of them, Wacław Hipsz and Aleksander Iwanicki had a big influence on the social-religious life in post-war Elbląg.

The subject of the article are church choirs and confessional choir societies that were active in Elbląg between 1871–1945. The timeframes set in the article are founding of the choir of St. Mary’s Church that was the first church choir in Elbląg and end of the second world war, as consequence of which Elbląg became a Polish city. As in the period of time considered in the article, most Elbląg inhabitants were Protestant and so was the majorityof Elbląg churches except for St. Nicholas Church and – not consecrated till 1905 though – St. Adalbert’s Church, the only catholic choir society was Cecilien-Society. The article presents history, activity and repertoire of all choirs. There are also Elbląg trombone choirs as a phenomenon typical for the Protestant Church mentioned.

In the 20 years of the Diocese of Elbląg this material is trying to point out an important legacy that may in future become an important link to build awareness of the historical and religious (new evangelization). Resources diocesan shrines enlarge (Święty Gaj, Ryjewo, Mątowy Wielkie, Kwidzyn and Zielonka Pasłęcka, and then Elbląg-Stagniewo). Also gradually expanding the infrastructure at the shrines of pilgrimage (homes for pilgrim in Święty Gaj and Mątowy Wielkie). Does not increase the tourist or pilgrim. An important partner in this cooperation should be local government. They correspond to such for shaping development directions, and also largely responsible for the promotion.

This article examines the processes of formation and disappearance of the parishes and other places of religious cult on the Pomesanian lands during the course of history. It also show quantity of acrage given to the parish churches of the pomesanian diocese, which are subsidiaries of contemporary parishes of the Diocese of Elblag.

Kielich z kościoła szpitalnego Bożego Ciała w Elblągu należy do najwybitniejszych dzieł złotnictwa na terenie dawnych Prus Królewskich. Na podstawie znaku złotniczego – co wówczas było jeszcze rzadkością – wiązany jest z osobą Dionisiusa Freymanna, złotnika czynnego w Elblągu od 1508 roku. Kielich wyróżnia się starannością wykonania, wysoką jakością techniczną, ale także wysokiej klasy kompozycją formy, przy zastosowaniu różnych środków wyrazu artystycznego. Zajmuje pozycję odrębną w całej obfitej wytwórczości ówczesnych złotników pruskich. Po 1945 roku uchodził za zaginiony, ofiarowany Prymasowi Polski kard. Stefanowi Wyszyńskiemu po 1967 i przekazany przez niego w 1970 do Skarbca katedry w Gnieźnie.
The chalice from the Corpus Christi hospital church in Elbląg is one of the most outstanding works of goldsmithing in the area of former Royal Prussia. On the basis of the goldsmith’s mark - which was still rare at the time - it is associated with the person of Dionisius Freymann, a goldsmith active in Elbląg since 1508. The chalice is distinguished by its meticulous workmanship, its high technical quality, but also by its high-class composition of form, using various means of artistic expression. It occupies a position of distinction in the entire abundant output of Prussian goldsmiths of the time. After 1945 it was thought to have been lost, donated to the Primate of Poland, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, after 1967 and given by him in 1970 to the Treasury of Gniezno Cathedral.

Artykuł prezentuje walki o Elbląg podczas II wojny światowej według rozkazów dowodzącego 2 Armią Uderzeniową, generała pułkownika Iwana Fiediunińskiego, wydanych w styczniu i lutym 1945 roku. Autor, bazując na dokumentacji Centralnego Archiwum Ministerstwa Obrony Federacji Rosyjskiej oraz literaturze przedmiotu prezentuje dzień za dniem – od 24 stycznia do 12 lutego 1945 r. – walki o miasto, prowadzone przez jednostki armijne i przydzielonego wsparcia, wskazując zajmowane przez nie rubieże, trasy przemarszu, działania bojowe, w tym również artylerii, czołgów i dział samobieżnych oraz wojsk inżynieryjnych, zauważając także osobiste ambicje i animozje między sowieckimi dowódcami.
The article presents the battle for Elbląg during the Second World War based on the orders of the commander of the 2nd Strike Army, General Colonel Ivan Fiediuniński, given in January and February 1945. The author, using the documents of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and literature of the subject, presents day by day – from January 24 to February 12, 1945 – direct preparations for the armor strike, marches for combat positions and the fighting, including artillery, tanks, self-propelled guns and engineering forces, highlighting also personal ambitions and disagreements among Soviet commanders.

U schyłku XIII w. zbudowano na północnym przedmieściu Elbląga szpital i drewnianą kaplicę pod wezwaniem św. Jerzego, którą w 1386 r. zastąpiono murowanym kościołem. Świątynia ta spłonęła doszczętnie w 1400 roku. W jej zgliszczach odnaleziono nietkniętą Hostię, co uznano za cud eucharystyczny. Odbudowany w 1405 r. kościół otrzymał wezwanie Bożego Ciała i stał się sanktuarium znanym w całych Prusach krzyżackich. Od połowy XVI w. do 1945 r. kościół Bożego Ciała był własnością elbląskich ewangelików. W jego wnętrzu zachowało się wyposażenie gotyckie i nowożytne. W związku z wkroczeniem do Elbląga Armii Czerwonej, na przełomie stycznia i lutego 1945 roku kościół został zniszczony i legł w gruzach.
At the end of the 13th century a hospital and a wooden chapel dedicated to St George were built in the northern suburb of Elbląg and replaced by a brick church in 1386. This temple burned down in 1400. In its ruins an intact Host was found, which was considered a Eucharistic miracle. Rebuilt in 1405, the church received the invocation of Corpus Christi and became a shrine known throughout Teutonic Prussia. From the middle of the 16th century until 1945, the Corpus Christi church was owned by Evangelicals from Elbląg. Inside,its Gothic and modern furnishings have been preserved. When the Red Army entered Elbląg in January/February 1945, the church was destroyed and lay in ruins.
