Opis:: WZ index is an aggregated indicator of air pollution, that encompasses the joint impact of various meteorological elements on pollution (sulphur dioxide) concentration level. Following meteorological elements were taken into account: mean daily air temperature, wind speed at the height of 10 m above the ground level at the time 12 UTC, precipitation, atmospheric air pressure and existence of lower inversion layer. The most often the maxima of WZ index correlate in time with appearance of maxima in air pollution in Decembers, Januaries and Februaries.

Opis:: The aim of the study was comparison of chosen meteorological elements (air temperature, precipitation and global solar radiation) measured in the warm half-a-year with classic and automatic weather stations. Basing on the measurements three agrometeorological indexes (climatological water balance, evapotranspiration and standardized precipitation index) were calculated. With the obtained results, prospects of automatic data use for meteorological cover in agriculture was evaluated along to the homogenious series maintaining. A particular consideration of correlative results was done to assign mathematical formulas that would allowed to use classic and automatic data series exchangeably.

Opis:: W pracy wykorzystano dane dotyczące wysokości roślin rzepaku ozimego w okresie jesiennego zahamowania wegetacji oraz wiosną (po kwitnieniu), a także oceny wyrzędowania w fazie pełni wschodów. Wartości odnosiły się do wyników pomiarów oraz obserwacji wykonanych w ZDOO Bezek koło Chełma w okresie 1974/75– –2008/09. Nierównomierne wschody rzepaku ozimego notowano w latach, gdy od lipca do września występowały większe niż przeciętnie wartości temperatury powietrza i gleby oraz znaczna liczba dni upalnych w lipcu i sierpniu. Z kolei większe od normy sumy opadów i niższa temperatura gleby w sierpniu, a ponadto ciepła i względnie sucha jesień sprzyjały występowaniu w Bezku znacznej wysokości łanu rzepaku przed zimą. Natomiast na wysokość roślin rzepaku wiosną ujemny wpływ miało występowanie niskiej temperatury powietrza i gleby pod koniec zimy oraz długo zalegająca pokrywa śnieżna w marcu.
The relationship between weather conditions and the rate of plant emergence of winter rapeseed and plant height (before winter and after fl owering) was studied based on meteorological data and fi eld observations from the Experimental Stations for Cultivar Testing (COBORU) in Bezek near Chełm in the period from 1974/75 to 2008/09. Poor emergence were recorded in year when the number of very hot days in July and August were higher than the average. Higher than normal sum of precipitation in August in connection with warm and relatively dry autumn favored high plant height before winter. In turn, the rapeseed plant height after fl owering was strongly negatively associated with low soil temperature and the long persistence of snow cover at the end of winter.

Opis:: The results of agrometeorological and soil moisture monitoring in the fi eld of sugar beet in the Kujawy region in 2005–2006 are shown in the paper. The examined growing seasons (IV–IX) were average in precipitation according to the SPI index. The moderate drought occurred in August–September 2005 and June–July 2006. The time distribution of precipitation and soil moisture in 2006 was more favourable than in 2005 for sugar beet growing. According to crop drought index CDI for sugar beet, the severe drought was in 2005 and severe bordered to moderate drought was in 2006. The measured in the fi eld and calculated according to CROPBALANCE model values of soil moisture in the root zone were agreeable. The meteorological and soil moisture data and mathematical modelling can be the important and useful elements in the system of agrometeorological monitoring and information in the Kujawy region. The indices of meteorological (SPI) and agricultural (CDI) drought can be the signifi cant complement of this system.
