Opis:: With increased student mobility, exchange programs and migrations, language teachers are more likely to face the challenge of delivering instruction to multilingual classes, either at home or abroad. Thus, intercultural teaching competence should find its place into teacher training programs, in order to prepare a new generation of language teachers. The paper will report a questionnaire study investigating the perceived level of intercultural teaching competence.

Opis:: Teacher training needs to respond to the changing reality, making students better equipped to meet the challenges of teaching in multilingual and multicultural contexts. The traditional paradigm of teacher trainers, trainees and prospective students all sharing the same mother tongue and home culture is no longer valid. Thus, reflection on how to infuse intercultural teaching into the teacher training module is needed. One way to do that is to apply the model of telecollaborative training.

Opis:: Foreign language and culture teaching have recently been widely addressed by theoreticians and practitioners alike. This paper sets out to report a classroom-based study which explored EFL learners’ reception of coursebook culture-focused texts. The data collected in the study was used to identify different dimensions of learners’ interest stimulated by the texts they read. The findings have some potential implications for taking an intercultural perspective in foreign language teaching.

Opis:: The article presents methodological assumptions for textbooks aimed at Polish‑speaking students who study Ukrainian as part of a philological degree course. Particular attention has been paid to the inclusion of cultural context, the aim of which is not only to diversify strictly linguistic tasks, but above all to introduce the student to the world of a different culture.
Artykuł przedstawia założenia metodologiczne podręczników adresowanych do studentów polskojęzycznych, uczących się języka ukraińskiego na studiach filologicznych. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na uwzględnienie kontekstu kulturowego, którego celem jest nie tylko urozmaicenie zadań stricte językowych, ale przede wszystkim wprowadzenie studenta w świat innej kultury.
