marine mine destroyer
Opis:
The article presents the results of tests of impact properties of steel 1.3964 used on the construction of modern mine destroyers. Ships of this type, like any other military unit, may be exposed to small-calibre projectiles. Firing can be done, for example, from aircraft, drones or pirate units. The thickness of the plates used in the ship’s construction does not guarantee effective resistance to the projectile calibre 7.62 mm for all compartments of such ships. Thus, it is possible to modify the existing structure or apply additional solutions that will ensure a certain level of ballistic resistance. Solutions of this type are necessary in order to maintain the stability and buoyancy of the ship at the current level. During the tests, a stress-strain curve for steel 1.3964 was obtained, then the Johnson-Cook plasticity and damage model was proposed, which was used in the FEM simulation. The task was modelled as non-linear considering the deformation of both the sample and the projectile. The simulation was prepared in the CAE program, and then verified by an experiment on the shooting range. The results were presented in the form of diagrams and deformation figures, and were compared with photographs of samples and velocities after the specimen.

Opis:
The Baltic Sea area has already been intensively used by variety of maritime economic sectors such as marine transport, fishing, tourism, extraction of sand and gravel and oil and gas exploitation. This is also an area of relatively intense military penetration. In addition, this is a place of various other investments, e.g. coastal technical infrastructure (port and transhipment terminals constructions, as well as technical measures of the shoreline defence against transgression of the sea), electrical energy transmission systems (high voltage cables plus large scale electrodes) and natural gas transmission huge pipelines. Over the next decades, the use of the Baltic Sea will expand rapidly, particularly due to constructions of new coastal and offshore wind farms, electrical energy transfer network, further intensification of various forms of shipping, development and construction of new ports and terminals and installing new oil extraction platforms. Some of these activities influences natural spatial distribution of physical properties of the sea space (such as acoustic field, magnetic field, salinity distribution etc.) as well as disturb different natural processes (such as natural coastal dynamics, sedimentation, migration patterns of mobile species etc). In order to present this problem, most important existing activities as well as the most recent large-scale constructions in the Baltic Sea are selected and presented in this study (with emphasis on the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone). Moreover most likely disturbances of natural distributions of physical properties of marine space are analyzed in light of the impact on the environment

Opis:
High strength thermally hardened steels are more difficult to weld than low carbon construction steels. There is a danger of cold cracking caused by the presence of martensite in welded joints. The thermally hardened 12 mm sheets of S540Q steel underwent research. The sheets were welded semi-automatically by MAG method, in the welding conditions usually applied in industry for welding normalized sheets of this steel. The welding technology was presented. The X-ray tests were performer, which confirmed the achievement of metallically continuous joints. Samples were taken from the joints and the joints hardness distribution measurements were conducted. The microstructure was examined and the static tensile tests as well as technological bend tests were carried out. Hardness measurements were performed in three measurement lines for each joint according to PN-EN 1043-1:2000 requirements. Joints microstructures were examined in the joints axis, in HAZ and in native materials. Steel microstructures were classified as low carbon tempered matrensite of layered construction. Mean values of the selected joints tensile strengths were also presented. The tensile tests values of native materials of metallurgic certificates were given for the sake of comparison. The research results presented in the paper made it possible to determine the weldability of S540Q steel.

Opis:
The article presents numerical analyses and results of experimental fatigue tests of the welded stairs made from prefabricated EN-AW 6063-T66 aluminium alloy thin-walled profiles. Fatigue life analysis of welded thin-walled structures is a complicated and demanding task. Fatigue analysis of stairs was carried out according to the concept of a weak link, which was verified experimentally. The FEM method was applied in strength analysis. The conducted research allowed identifying the weak link of the structure at the welded joint. The samples stairs were subjected to fatigue tests. The fatigue tests have been conducted using specially designed set up. The experiments confirmed the numerical analysis. The cracks occurred at welded joints before expected fatigue life to fracture. Then the stairs structure was modified by changing the weld joints arrangement. The fatigue tests were carried out again and showed further weaknesses of their structure cracking of the step profile. To precisely capture this problem, detail finite element calculations for the analysed stairs have been conducted. Applying the nominal stress method, this problem was solved changing the treads profile of the stairs step. The last improvement in the construction was sufficient to satisfy fatigue strength requirement of the analysed structure. The weak link approach and nominal stress method proved to be an effective tool in fatigue analysis of the examined structure.

In the article are presented main principles and leads-up to the choice of the general criterion of the main beams’ optimization. The main reasons leading to the destruction of arms include cyclic load causing fatigue phenomena, creep occurrence causing elements deformation beyond a critical state, the constructions’ blistering appearing owing to the metal maturing, corrosion of the main beams’ elements, leading to the loss of their carrying capacity. The general optimization criterion is chosen. The parameters of the main beams’ endurance are defined. The device for the measuring of the size and the character of the vibrations’ decay of the bridge cranes’ main beams is suggested. We have the results of the experimental information, received on the bridge cranes of the different plants. The work directions by the optimization of the constructive parameters of the cranes’ main beams are defined. Into the suggested construction of the span beam are put such statements: high values of the general optimization criterion’s; stiffness of the arm to the reduced weight ratio, possibility of the beam’s creation of the equal resistance, minimization of the local deflection tensions from the load cart on account of the inclined walls’ position. The construction of the patented span beam of the diaphragm construction is observed and described.
