Opis:
Gears used for the tests may be made of metal or plastic [1, 2, 5]. The stand has been designed in an open system and it is powered by a three-phase electric motor. The control is provided by a single-phase inverter with three outputs, which provides full speed control. All components have been installed on a table equipped with T-slots in order to determine the optimal position of the drive and the tested gear. The load of the stand is realized by an electromagnetic powder brake. Load torque of the gear depends on the supplied current. During the test, you can change settings such as speed or load torque. Torque meters installed on input and output of the demonstrator let you control the work of the whole gear. Values supplied by the torque meters (torque and speed) are recorded on a computer in real time (according to PC RTC) and archived by specialized software. The software installed on your computer allows you to view results of the measurements. The possibility to control working time lets you precisely define the time intervals of various stages of the research. Using timer makes it possible to observe the current consumption of the transmission and helps to establish the research process. Thanks to data, recording you will know when the gear is damaged. Tests at this stand allow for obtaining stable working parameters, and thus for obtaining not distorted, accurate results of the demonstrator operation. Changing the gear is exceptionally simple because of the use of sliding splined connections of the couplings. Separating couplings between which the gear is situated and unlocking, the terminal allows exchanging it.

Opis:
The main aim of the presented paper is to verify the dynamics of chosen railway wagon using multi-body methods. Thus, in tests a wagon prototype with rotational rail-car body was simulated, which is going to be used for TIR vehicles trailer bodies transporting. Implemented prototype is authored by the team from Department of Applied Mechanics and Computer Science from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Military University of Technology. For this purpose CAD model, and subsequently numerical model, of mentioned wagon was developed. Using MSC Adams software initial boundary conditions, material parameters and contact characteristics were defined. In the previous authors' paper [1], preliminary analyses of the loads acting on the railway platform were carried out, which verified chosen parameters and coefficients. The main aim of presently proposed 3D multi-body simulations of railway wagon is to investigate its motion with full load and to determine the operation limit safety. Thus, in the performed analyses the railway wagon was accelerated to the desired velocity and drove through the curved tracks with four different velocities. From the carried out simulations the wagon dynamic behaviour was investigated and obtained results including contact forces characteristics were compared from all analyses cases. Moreover, performed study shows that the MSC. Adams software is capable for analysing and simultaneously validating various complex engineering problems, such as the one investigated by the authors.

Opis:
The problem of multi-camera system, in which the synchronization was a priority issue, has been raised in the beginning of the 20th century. It was caused by significant growth of application, in which computer vision technology realized in real-time, mode play the major role. Lately multi-camera synchronization problem is related to threedimensional reconstruction. It is estimated that 3D imaging market was worth 16.6 billion USD by 2020 year (in 2015 this market was worth only 4.9 billion USD). This constitute raise at 27.64% calculated as CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) indicator. However, presently there exists many issues disturbing in develop full functional 3D imaging systems wherein robust and mapping accuracy are not related with the system total price. Multi-camera imaging (MCI) technology is a perfect candidate to obtain 3D imaging, moreover the systems contains this type of solution already existed but they possess limitation. First of all, MCI are perfect for reconstruction static objects. This paper describes the common known problem concerning multi-camera system in which correlation between independently taken images from the multiple viewpoints must be extremely high in the time domain. However, some kinds of application do not require perfect snapshot synchronization but time delay must be exactly known. Generally, camera synchronicity issue can be achieved through hardware or software solution. Hardware triggering usually ensures high synchronicity precision and is robust but it is always associated with expensiveness. In turn of software triggering the application architecture in hardware point of view are simpler and inexpensive although they are uncertainty as hardware solution. Additionally, in the paper author's main attention was focused on possibility of synchronization pentadruple cameras system with GigE interface with hardware and software triggering and estimation software solution average time delay in comparison with hardware triggering.

This paper will present selected problems connected with modelling of multi-layer pavements. Multi-layer pavement models, which utilize solutions such as the one of Boussinesq, Burmister, Kogan, Odemark and others, contain many simplifications, which bas a significant influence on the estimated real value of stress, strain, deflection as well as on the coefficient of pavement layers interaction. In the article based on the experiments carried out, we want to present our own layered-pavement models and solutions to them, which can be used mainly in the diagnostics of bearing capacity. The estimation of bearing capacity is conducted on the basis of full time data obtained with the FWD device. Moreover, the conclusions implicated by the above mentioned analysis are of big importance in design and operation process of road and airfield pavements. They pertain not only to the influence of modulus and thickness of particular layers but also to the way of pavement layers interaction, Poisson's coefficient, thermal characteristics and others.

The paper presents results of investigations and the assessment of multi-stage fuel injection in MultiJet 1.3 engine operating under load conditions. Basic work parameters of the examined piston internal combustion engine, such as: effective power, torque, hour and unit fuel consumption and the concentration of the most important noxious components of exhaust gases were provided. Tests were conducted at the test bench stand that comprised the engine under consideration, eddy-current brake by Elektromex EMX company, control and measurement unit to control the test bench and to take measurements of parameters of the engine and brake work, the measurement system for fast-changing quantities, fuel-flow and air-flow meters, and the exhaust gas analyser. During the tests, the engine operated under load conditions at the crankshaft rotational speed: n=l200, 1750, 2400, 3800 and 4200 rpm. Such values of speed were selected because of the multi-stage fuel injection and the engine's being able to reach the maximum torque M=200Nm at the crankshaft rotational speed n = 1750 rpm and the maximum power output N=90HP, delivered at n=4200 rpm. Application of advanced engine technologies and advanced control system allowed meeting high requirements concerning energy and economic as well as environmental indices.

The propulsion system of multi-mode ships cause many problems of proper the choise of propulsion system elements and theirs arrangement in the design process. This system has to fulfil at least two inverse demands. It ought to make possible efficient ship shift (transit mode) from the port to the off shore work place and return to base, to ensure a ship survive at sea in the worst sea condition possible on that sea area and to fulfil conditions of dynamic positioning accuracy (stationkeeping mode) at specified bad state of the sea - not to stop the ship work for long time. The dynamic positioning systems require multi-element ship propulsion application. The fulfilment, all required possibilities and accuracy of ship positioning by chosen propulsion system specified in the project data, is the most important project problem to obtain the minimum investment costs. The redimensioning of propulsion system, increasing the number of thrusters and theirs possibilities gives the benefits in dynamic positioning accuracy, but increases the investment costs. An expensive project may not be realized because of price. The aim of designer is the choice optimum solution of propulsion system, which is fulfils all expectations of ship owner and crew, and performs all project assumptions.

Application of the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the Multibody Dynamics Method (MBS) allows analyzing of complex physical systems. Complexity of the system could be related both to the geometry and the physical description of phenomenon. MBS is the excellent tool for analyzing statics or dynamics of the mechanical systems. MBS permits tracking of Multi Body System transient response for the long-term simulations and application of any arbitrary set of mechanical forcing functions. However, this method does not allow observing state of the continuum systems. Besides, applying forcing functions other than mechanical ones (i.e. general forces or displacements) is troublesome in MBS. In case of FEM most of algorithms encounter continuity conditions across the element boundaries , and thanks to this FEMis one of the most suitable calculation method for continua multi-physics systems (i.e. thermo-structural, electro-thermo-structural, magneto-thermo-structural, MEMS, etc.). Common problem with FEM is that there are major calculation difficulties when long-term simulation results are required and/or large relative motions are present in the system. Drawbacks of FEM and MBS could be overcome with use of algorithm based on the modifled Hybrid Finite Element Method presented further in this paper. Traditional Hybrid Finite Element Method model consists of rigid end deformable elements, system matrices derived for all compound elements are calculated concurrently. In this approach both advantages and disadvantages of FEM and MBS are transferred to the model. Proposed modified Hybrid Finite Element Method algorithm exploits two corresponding coupled discrete models, one containing FEM elements and the other MBS only. Both models are coupled by means of forcing functions. Such approach is applicable for the multi-physics systems with large transient response differences.

The methodology of research and the inspection of the main transmission gearboxes of multi axles armoured vehicle ROSOMAK under operating conditions are described in this article. Tests are carried out on the bench to allow force transmission changes to the extent similar to the loads that occur during vehicle operation. Transmission gear boxes are driven by an internal combustion engine 359 through a reducer (standard engine gearbox). This reducer increase torque and decrease shaft speed similar to condition in the vehicle. On the other side of the transmission, multiplying gearbox coupled with a brake dynamometer were placed. It increases speed according to requirements of the work field of the dynamometer W-230. The combustion engine made possible to measure vibration of transmission gearboxes under the high torque. The torque is greater than obtainable by using electric motors. The value of the inertia moment loading axle shaft was determined using a simplified kinematic diagram. During the tests, vibration were measured at selected points of the housing using different methods of attachment of vibration transducers. First, the screw for assembling the vibration sensor was glued to the hull of gearbox. Second, the sensor was connected with gearbox by permanent magnets. Third, the sensor was used as a hand probe. The results of vibration measured by these methods were compared. Temperature of the gearbox was also measured by using thermocouples and thermovision methods. Selected results are presented and analysed of vibration transmission and its temperature at selected working conditions.

Opis:
In the recent years the safety and eco-friendliness have gained much of attention of the automotive stakeholders. These two characteristics are especially important in the case of mass transportation vehicles, such as buses or coaches, which are in continues use for long periods of time, covering significant distances. In such situations, the economical aspects play major role for the transportation companies which try to minimize operational costs of their fleet, by choosing vehicles with reduced fuel consumption. In order to obtain improvements in all the mentioned areas and hence to strengthen their position on the market, bus manufacturers have recently turned their attention to multimaterial design strategies. Structures built in that manner consist not only of regular steel parts, but contain also a mix of components made from various lightweight materials like aluminum alloys or composites, which allow for significant reduction in vehicle curb weight. However, due to the differences in mechanical characteristics which are especially evident in the case of laminates, the material substitution is not a straightforward task. In order to find the material distribution pattern that meets all the requirements, a great number of prototypic numerical models must be prepared and tested. To ease the search for the final solution, optimization techniques can be applied into the design process, allowing for automatic design modifications and assessment of the obtained results. The paper presents an attempt of enhancing the operational characteristics of a bus body structure with simultaneous reduction in the structural weight. In order to find the optimal component configuration, a multimaterial optimization was employed and supplemented by sensitivity and robustness analyses. Such a technique helps to discriminate the over-optimized solutions that are often pointed out as the most desirable by the optimization algorithms which neglect the uncertainties of the analysed system.

Power requirement for ship's movement depends on their size (water displacement) and sailing speed. The problem is especially important for fast ships, because the speed of movement is generating significant high power requirement, while limited displacement, diminishing a drag quantity from one hand, is a reason of limited draft and consequently limited capacity of a hull from the other. Above facts have strong influence at a number, type, power and size of main engines and propellers. Fast ships are designed for reaching maximum speed, but majority of exploitation time, are cruising at lower speed, called partial speed. That exploitation profile requires stopping of some engines or braking of propellers. Not driven propellers are dragged behind the hull, and work at a turbine mode, giving a torque at a propulsion shaft and creates a negative thrust what means the additional drag. The additional drag of not driven propellers must be calculated during the propulsion design stage, and analysis of speed value during different variants of the ship's movement . Torque values and thrusts can be evaluated basing on the universal hydrodynamic characteristics of propellers. the method and example of calculation of the drag created by free-rotating and stopped propellers of the exemplary propulsion set are presented in the paper.

The experimental results discussed in the paper were derived from introductory investigations into measurements of the air-fuel mixture pressure in the engine cylinder and those of the injector needle lift, which were assessed on the basis of measurements of the intensity of the injector-controlling current. Tests were performed while the engine operated under external speed characteristics and under load characteristics at the crankshaft rotational speed n=l200 rpm and n =3800 rpm. During tests, depending on speed and load characteristics of the engine operation, the ECU performed different strategies of fuel injection. The fuel injection control system madę it possible to complete three injection stages in a single work cycle of the internal combustion engine (pilot injection, pre-injection and the main injection). The maximum fuel pressure in the common rail amounted to 160 MPa. The engine was fuelled by commercial diesel oil.
