Opis:
Different variations of one simple Model-Reference Variable-Structure Control (MRVSC) method are presented and used for planar robot control. The quality of trajectory tracking was tested by simulation with respect to robot parameter changes, different complex sinusoidal external disturbances and measurement noise. The results proved satisfactory robustness of all presented modified MRVSC methods.

Opis:
Approximately 50 to 60 percent of the more than five million stroke survivors are moderately or minimally impaired, and may greatly benefit from rehabilitation. There is a strong need for cost-effective, long-term rehabilitation solutions, which require the therapists to provide repetitive movements to the affected limb. This is a suitable task for specialized robotic devices; however, with the few commercially available robots, the therapists are required to spend a considerable amount of time programming the robot, monitoring the patients, analyzing the data from the robot, and assessing the progress of the patients. This paper focuses on the design, development, and clinically testing an expert systembased post-stroke robotic rehabilitation system for hemiparetic arm. The results suggest that it is not necessary for a therapist to continuously monitor a stroke patient during robotic training. Given the proper intelligent tools for a rehabilitation robot, cost-effective long-term therapy can be delivered with minimal supervision.

Opis:
This article describes interactive methods that can ease difficult manipulation tasks in Search & Rescue operations. We discuss the requirements that are necessary for a telemanipulation system to be successfully used. These include not just correctness of generated motion but also ergonomy, mobility and interactivity of the operator’s interface. We show that grippers with one or more degrees of freedom can be intuitively controlled by different interface mechanisms, supported by 3D vision systems. Tests are performed both in the simulation environment and with real grippers. A practical pipeline for a direct control and learning the system is also presented.

Opis:
This paper presents a control system for a humanoid robot based on human body movement tracking. The system uses the popular Kinect sensor to capture the mo- tion of the operator and allows the small, low-cost, and proprietary robot to mimic full body motion in real time. Tracking controller is based on optimization-free algorithms and uses a full set of data provided by Kinect SDK, in order to make movements feasible for the considerably different kinematics of the humanoid robot compared to the human body kinematics. To maintain robot stability we implemented the balancing algorithm based on a simple geometrical model, which adjusts only the configuration of the robot’s feet joints, maintaining an unchanged imitated posture. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can successfully allow the robot to mimic captured human motion sequences.

Opis:
This paper presents a method for motion planning for a group of mobile robots. The goal of the group is to move through an environment and to reach a destination while maintaining the desired formation. The map of the environment is represented as a grid of cells. A state of each cell is determined. It can be free, occupied by the obstacle, occupied by a robot. The trajectories of the robots are planned using the modification of diffusion method. The algorithm is implemented using Cellular Neural Network. This kind of implementation allows of efficient path planning and to solve conflicts between robots. Computer simulations were preformed in order to proof the efficiency of the approach.

Opis:
This paper considers the practical application of the RGBD Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques for localization of mobile robots. We attempt to answer the question: how the quality of the estimated sensor trajectory depends on the approach to RGB-D data processing in the SLAM system when RGB-D frames acquired on a real mobile robot are used. Experiments are performed on data obtained from robots of different classes, and from different environment types to present the problems characteristic to RGB-D data. Conclusions as to the robustness of particular architectures and solutions applied in SLAM are drawn on the basis of experimental results. Publicly available data sets and well-established performance metrics are used to ensure that the results are verifiable, reproducible and relevant

Opis:
The paper presents a new stiffness modelling method for multi-chain parallel robotic manipulators with flexible links and compliant actuating joints. In contrast to other works, the method involves a FEA-based link stiffness evaluation and employs a new solution strategy of the kinetostatic equations, which allows computing the stiffness matrix for singular postures and to take into account influence of the external forces. The advantages of the developed technique are confirmed by application examples, which deal with stiffness analysis of a parallel manipulator of the Orthoglide family.
