    Opis:
    The article presents the results of the research on the motives and ways of spending holidays in the area Kampinos National Park (KNP) by urban inhabitants. Surveys were conducted during the summer 2013 among 117 tourists spending their vacations in the vicinity of KNP. The article elaborates on an analysis of criteria which help tourist to select this form of tourism, as well as the selection of a specific offer from many others, what sources of information about the place or a recreational object they use, what are the preferred ways of spending leisure time so as their expectations towards diversity of the offer. The debate on the subject was extended by the analysis of the factors which defines the tourists behavior and expectations, such as: age and education.

    Przebywanie wśród drzew staje się na świecie coraz bardziej popularną metodą leczniczą. Las jest ekosystemem, którego wszystkie elementy egzystują w doskonałej harmonii. Forest therapy nazywane jest w Polsce sylwoterapią, drzewoterapią, leczeniem lasem. Ta metoda leczenia (lub wspomagania procesu rekonwalescencji i rehabilitacji) jest coraz bardziej popularna na świecie i powoli doceniana w Polsce. Terapia jest procesem pobudzania organizmu do samoleczenia przez jego kontakt z naturą w środowisku leśnym. W wielu krajach metoda ta jest wykorzystywana w leczeniu zaburzeń związanych ze stresem, depresją, starzeniem się organizmu, a także dla poprawy ogólnego stanu zdrowia. Ponadto spacery są okazją do zapewnienia minimum aktywności ruchowej, powodują dotlenienie organizmu i poprawę ukrwienia. Kojąco na organizm człowieka działa szum drzew, śpiew ptaków i zieleń. Będąc w lesie, człowiek mimowolnie wtapia się w rytm natury, której jest cząstką.
    Forest therapy is a method of medical treatment (or supplementary aid in the medical rehabilitation process) It becomes more popular in the world and gradually more appreciated in Poland. In many countries forest-therapy facilities are widely used as tourist resorts. The method, generally, is to stimulate the self-healing of the one’s body, through their contact with nature, in the forest environment. The paper presents many examples of the beneficial effects of the forest (forest therapy) on human health. In many countries, this method is used to treat autism, depression, stress to treat disorders associated with aging of the body as well as to improve the general state of the organism. Therapy is available for everyone, except for the people who suffer from allergies, there are no contraindications to apply the therapy. In addition, it does not cause any side effects and can be used all over the world. It couse additional therapeutic effects, while the forest walks, it improves oxygenation of the body and blood circulation. Soothing effect on the nerves running the rustle of trees, singing birds and greenery around us. Being in the woods, one involuntarily tunes in, blending in the rhythm of nature.

    Over the centuries, arboreta and botanical gardens have performed a variety of functions, the most important being the collection and sharing of the various plant collections. Initially, these collections mainly included medicinal plants for the education of future physicians or pharmacists. The aim of this article is to show the significant role of these units in the forest and nature education. Conducting scientific research and making collections for educational and research purposes is carried out by botanical gardens primarily by providing access to the public to harvest in a manner that will not endanger the collection. Formal education is carried out in these units mainly through links with universities and through the organization of special educational activities (equivalent to museum lessons) for schools.

    W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano zachowania i oczekiwania osób wypoczywających w gospodarstwach agroturystycznych funkcjonujących na obszarach przyrodniczo cennych zlokalizowanych w okolicach Kampinoskiego Parku Narodowego. Badania terenowe z wykorzystaniem techniki ankietowej przeprowadzono w lipcu i sierpniu 2013 roku na próbie 133 osób wypoczywających w gospodarstwach agroturystycznych w okolicach Kampinoskiego Parku Narodowego.
    The article presents the results of the research on the behavior and expectations of people vacationing in the agritourism farms located in environmentally valuable areas. Surveys were conducted during the summer 2013 among 133 tourists spending their vacations in the vicinity of Kampinos National Park. The paper presents the characteristics of an average tourist visiting environmentally valuable areas, and the behavior of tourists spending their leisure time there. The article elaborates on an analysis of criteria which help tourist to select this form of tourism, as well as the selection of a specific offer from many, what sources of information about the place or a recreational object they use, what are the preferred ways of spending leisure time so as their expectations towards diversity and improvement of the offer. The debate on the subject was extended by the analysis of the factors which defines the tourists behavior and expectations, such as: age, gender, and education.

    The article presents the results of the research on the familiarity and popularity of selected tourist trails, which are located in rural areas of Podlaskie and Mazowieckie provinces, among the inhabitants of Poland. The research (using the diagnostic survey method) covered 459 adult Poles. The selection of respondents had quota-random character. The survey sample reflects the structure of the Polish population in terms of gender and main age groups. The conducted research proved that the familiarity and popularity of tourist trails located in rural areas is very small. Therefore it is necessary to intensify the promotional activities for this type of attraction.

    The aim of the article is to show the specificity of nature museums and their functions in the field of natural and forest education. The paper presents the idea of nature museums in Poland and their functions (eg. educational, informative, fun).
