Opis:
In this paper, the research on discrete descriptor systems is extended to include discrete multiple time-delay descriptor systems. The impulse-free and D-stability problem for a class of discrete descriptor systems with multiple time delays is investigated. A delay-dependent criterion is first derived to guarantee that the system is proper. A delay-dependent stability criterion in terms of spectral radius is then presented to ensure the D-stability of the system. Furthermore, a delay-dependent criterion is proposed to guarantee that the system is nebular, impulse-free, and D-stable. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate our main results.

Opis:
In this paper, the robust asymptotic stability problem for a class of nominally stable uncertain singularly perturbed systems with multiple non-commensurate time delays is considered. A delay-dependent criterion is first proposed in this paper to guarantee robust asymptotic stability of the system under consideration. Based on this result, the range of allowable bounds of the perturbation matrices preserving the closed-loop stability can easily be found. Moreower, a simple criterion is also proposed to guarantee asymptotic, stability of the nominal system. Furthermore, a simple estimation of the stability bound epsilon* is proposed such that the nominal system is asymptotically stable for epsilon [belongs to](0,epsilon*). It can be seen that the stability bound proposed in this paper is less conservative than that presented in recent research. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate our main results.

Opis:
In this paper, the robust D-stability problem for discrete uncertain multiple time-delay systems is examined on the basis of their such reduced-order models (the slow and fast subsystems), which are obtained by time-scale separation method. Under the condition that the slow and fast subsystems of the nominal system are both -D(a,r)-stable, a D-stability criterion for the slow and fast subsystem of the original uncertain system is first derived. A delay-dependent criterion in terms of spectral radius is then proposed to guarantee the robust D-stability of the original uncertain system subject to structured perturbations. Moreover, the criterion for the robust asymptotic stability of the system subject to structured perturbations can be obtained from the proposed robust D-stability criterion. A numerical example is provided to illustrate our main results.

The paper is devoted to the problem of robust stability of positive linear discrete-time systems with delays in the case of structured perturbations of state matrices. Simple new necessary and sufficient conditions for robust stability in the general case and in the case of system with linear uncertainty structure are established for two sub-cases: 1) unity rank uncertainty structure, 2) non-negative perturbation matrices. It is shown that robust stability of the positive discrete-time linear system with delays is equivalent to: 1) robust stability of the corresponding positive system without delays of the same order as time-delay system - in the general case, 2) asymptotic stability of finite family of the positive vertex systems without delays - in the case of a linear unity rank uncertainty structure, 3) asymptotic stability of only one positive vertex system without delays - in the case of a linear uncertainty structure with non-negative perturbation matrices.

Continuous-time positive systems, switching among p subsystems whose matrices differ by a rank one matrix, are introduced, and a complete characterization of the existence of a common linear copositive Lyapunov function for all the subsystems is provided. Also, for this class of systems it is proved that a well-known necessary condition for asymptotic stability, namely the fact that All convex combinations of the system matrices are Hurwitz, becomes equivalent to the generally weaker condition that the systems matrices are Hurwitz. In the special case of two-dimensional systems, this allows for drawing a complete characterization of asymptotic stability. Finally, the case when there are only two subsystems, possibly with commuting matrices, is investigated.

It is well known that local stability analysis of a Walrasian multiple markets model is performed by approximating, according to Taylor's expansion, a system of first-order differential equations. So, one has to study the stability of a linear system (with constant coefficients). Since the earlier studies of Walrasian economic equilibrium, economists have suggested numerous conditions ensuring local stability of the same. The aim of this note is to give a survey of various conditions, used in economic analysis, ensuring that a (real) square matrix is stable. We show, in a unified manner, their inter-relations and make some new remarks on quasi-dominant matrices and on D-stable matrices.

Opis:
Fuzzy controls can describe control rules using fuzzy if-then rules and it can incorporate experts' control rules. It is, however, difficult to guarantee the stability of fuzzy control system. This paper presents a new method for stability analysis of fuzzy control system using petri nets. The proposed method crisply divides all of the input and output variables of the fuzzy controller and the fuzzy model of the controlled object. This crisp division makes the fired rules of the fuzzy controller and the fuzzy model, which have truth values greater then 0, be single each. These simplified fuzzy rules can be considered as discrete description of the controller and the controlled object. By approximating and the fuzzy control system as this discrete system, the system can be expressed by the petri nets. The proposed method describes the fuzzy control system using matrix based on a bipartite directed multigraph of the petri net, thereby enables to analyse the stability of the fuzzy control system. The analytic results using the petri nets have clear correspondence to the fired fuzzy rules. The dynamical behavior of the system are able to be understood easily. Simulation is done to verify the proposed stability analysis method.

The exact stability bound of the parasitic parameter for a discrete-time singularly perturbed system is determined by the linear fractional transformation (LFT) framework. Two systematic approaches including time-domain and frequency-domain methods are proposed to solve this problem based on the unified LFT framework. One employs the Kronecker product of LFTs and the guardian map theory. The other is to plot the eigenvalue loci of a real rational function matrix. Two examples are given to show the feasibility of the approaches.

Opis:
Asymptotic stability of finite energy solutions to a fluid-structure interaction with a static interface in a bounded domain Ω ∈ Rn, n = 2 is considered. It is shown that the undamped model subject to ”partial flatness” geometric condition on the in- terface produces solutions whose energy converges strongly to zero; while with a stress type feedback control applied on the interface of the structure, the model produces solutions whose energy is exponentially stable. An addition of a static damping on the interface produces solutions whose full norm in the phase space is exponentially stable. Without a static damping an interesting phenomenon occurs that steady state solutions (equilibria) might generate genuinely growing in time solutions. This is purely nonlinear phenomenon captured by newly developed techniques amenable to handle instability of steady state solutions arising from nonlinearity.

This paper is devoted to the discussion of the exponential stability of a networked hyperbolic system with a circle. Our analysis extends an example by Bastin and Coron about the limits of boundary stabilizability of hyperbolic systems to the case of a networked system that is defined on a graph which contains a cycle. By spectral analysis, we prove that the system is stabilizable while the length of the arcs is sufficiently small. However, if the length of the arcs is too large, the system is not stabilizable. Our results are robust with respect to small perturbations of the arc lengths. Complementing our analysis, we provide numerical simulations that illustrate our findings.
