Opis:: Paper deals with problems of KMS (Key Management System), which is developed in mobile communications GSM-R (Global System Mobile for Railway) recommended within the European Train Control System (ETCS), through the Euroradio system. Th e main part is oriented to safety procedures description of off-line KMS system between communication entities of ETCS system. In the experimental part the results of computational safety of modifi ed DES algorithm are summarised using special brute force attack to key – birthday paradox.

Opis:: The analyses were aimed at determination of failure effects in the transmission system, which allow identifying the transition process of the system from a safety state (it may not be necessarily a failure - a free state) to a dangerous state and permit to calculate probability of the dangerous state occurrence of the system as a failure effect to the operating system. Dangerous states of the safety Fieldbus system are mainly caused by systematic failures within a specification of the system, electromagnetic interferences (EMI) and random failures of the HW effects. The effects of electromagnetic interferences and random failures of HW can be described in the paper by the use of time table.

Opis:: The paper presents results and analysis of research of the quality of service requirements (defined by the QoS attributes) for imaging data transmission services using Radio System for Monitoring and Acquisition of Data from Traffic Enforcement Cameras (in short RSMAD). The paper also presents and discusses results of test on the impact of the size of photos from traffic enforcement cameras on the average transmission time. These tests were conducted under conditions of actual operation of the RSMAD system. Basing on the obtained results, an analysis of the capacity, to provide in the RSMAD system required quality of service by different wireless data transmission systems, was performed.

Opis:: The paper deals with assumptions for an open transmission in railway control applications ensuring the SIL4 safety integrity level. Using the public transmission standards, especially the wireless transmission (including radio access to Internet) requires the appropriate protection to ensure the data integrity (protection against fault and lost of transmission) and encoding (protection against unauthorized access). The estimated this way the THR values, even for single transmission channel does not differ for fault level of computer hardware in redundant structures. The theoretical results are compared with experimental tests of polish railway automation systems.

Opis:: The essence of operation of all the ITSs is to make decisions on the basis of the obtained and available information. The relevance of taken decisions depends on the quality of available information, its accuracy and up-to-dateness. It is important to pay attention to the fact that requirements for up-to-dateness of information as well as the consequences of delays in their transfer or in connection with their loss are different depending on the subsystem. The paper presented the issues related to the analysis of the ITS telecommunications environment. The selected aspects of prevention from risks, which may be an important factor affecting the security of the transport system functioning, will be analysed. Moreover, the analysis of methods for the secure data transmission will be also carried out. The transmission security methods will be selected within the framework of VPN virtual tunnel technologies. The mechanisms, the implementation of which will allow to increase the security and availability of information transmission in ITSs, were offered.
