As a further theoretical study of the collision-induced quantum interference on rotational energy transfer in an atom-diatom system, the differential interference angles for singlet-triplet mixed states of $Na_2$ system in collision with He were calculated based on the first-Born approximation of time-dependent perturbation theory, taking into account the anisotropic Lennard-Jones interaction potential and the long-range interaction potential. The relationships of differential interference angle versus impact parameter including collision parameter, velocity, are obtained. It is beneficial to reduce the loss in molecular cooling and trapping.

Cross-correlations among the chosen six main world financial markets are analysed by power law classification scheme (PLCS). The markets are represented by indices: DAX (Frankfurt), FTSE (London), S&P 500 (New York), HSI (Honkong), Nikkei 225 (Tokyo), STI (Singapore) in the interval from 24.09.1991 till 31.01.2014. The time series are transformed into daily returns and normalised daily range of indices. The evolution of correlation strength is analysed using moving time window. It is shown that the correlation strength properly characterises crisis and prosperity periods. Moreover, the value of the correlation strength can be related to the crisis severity. The results are compared with standard ultrametric distance based on Pearson coefficient.

The analysis of crisis influence on the cross-correlation of the foreign exchange market (forex) daily exchange rates time series is presented. The analysis was conducted on 42 exchange rates with PLN as the common base currency. The time series cover the period from 09.10.2007 till 08.08.2015. Cross-correlation of the time series was analysed by power law classification scheme. It was shown that the strength of correlation allows not only to properly distinguish crisis and prosperity periods but also, followed by network analysis, is capable of recognizing the nodes which are the source of the crisis.

B₄C ceramics were fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique with 5 vol.% silicon as sintering additive. Optimization of SPS method production parameters for B₄C ceramics having geometries 50×50×5 mm, square cross section will be performed. The sintering process was carried out at different temperatures by applying 40 MPa of pressure under vacuum atmosphere. The effect of silicon additive, sintering temperature and different soaking times on density, vickers hardness, fracture toughness and microstructure were examined. The mechanical properties of the B₄C ceramics having silicon as additive were compared with the results of monolithic B₄C. The hardness and fracture toughness of the samples were evaluated by the vickers indentation technique. Microstructures of spark plasma sintered B₄C samples with different parameters in square cross section were characterized by using SEM technique.

Opis:
This paper proposes the non-extensive entropy econometric approach to predict regional cross-industry greenhouse emissions within a country, based on imperfect knowledge of industrial and regional aggregates. The solution of this stochastic inverse problem is applied to Poland. Non-extensive entropy should remain a valuable device for econometric modelling even in the case of low frequency series since outputs provided by the Gibbs-Shannon entropy approach correspond to the Tsallis entropy limiting case of the Gaussian law when the Tsallis q-parameter equals unity. We, therefore, set up a q-Tsallis-Kullback-Leibler entropy criterion function with a priori consistency constraints, including the environmental Kuznets econometric model and regular conditions. As in the case of Shannon-Gibbs-based entropy models, we found that the Tsallis entropy estimator also belongs to the family of Stein estimators, meaning that smaller probabilities are shrunk and higher probabilities dominate in the solution space. Fortunately, adding more pertinent data to the model priors will enhance parameter precision and then allow for the recovery of the real influence of smaller events. The q-Tsallis-Kullback-Leibler entropy index is computed for different scenarios of the Kuznets model. The model outputs continue to conform to empirical expectations. In spite of the close to unity q-Tsallis parameter, this Tsallis related approach reflects higher stability for parameter computation in comparison with the Shannon-Gibbs entropy econometrics technique.

Optical low-coherence tomography is a measurement technique for non-contact and non-destructive investigation of materials inner structure. Nowadays, this method is highly applied in medical treatment especially in dermatology and ophthalmology. During our research we have developed an optical low-coherence tomography system with polarization state analysis for structure examination of a broad range of technical materials. In this paper we present our recent measurements including polarization sensitive analysis. Those measurements were taken for semitransparent and highly scattering materials like polymer layers and polymer optical retarders, anticorrosion protective coatings or abrasive paper. We proved that with the aid of developed polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography system it is possible to investigate birefringence principles of materials as well as to improve visualization contrast of cross-sectional images.

A culvert is a structure that allows water to flow under a road, railroad, trail, or similar obstruction, from one side to the other side. Typically embedded, so as to be surrounded by soil, a culvert may be made from a pipe, reinforced concrete or other material. In order to minimize the impact of a water crossing on the environment, culverts require the proper size, design and installation, to ensure that they do not cause downstream erosion, upstream flood, alter stream habitat or block organism passage. In this study, the size of a box culvert has been determined by getting more realistic maximum flow rates, by using data of a geographic information system. The results of this study have been compared with the rational method. The size of the culvert, which is calculated by using data from geographic information system will be more realistic and efficient, compared to the culvert, calculated by rational method.

Opis:
This contribution deals with the numerical simulation of dislocation dynamics, their interaction, merging and changes in the dislocation topology. The glide dislocations are represented by parametrically described curves moving in slip planes. The simulation model is based on the numerical solution of the dislocation motion law belonging to the class of curvature driven curve dynamics. We focus on the simulation of the cross-slip of two dislocation curves where each curve evolves in a different slip plane. The dislocations evolve, under their mutual interaction and under some external force, towards each other and at a certain time their evolution continues outside slip planes. During this evolution the dislocations merge by the cross-slip occurs. As a result, there will be two dislocations evolving in three planes, two planes, and one plane where cross-slip occurred. The goal of our work is to simulate the motion of the dislocations and to determine the conditions under which the cross-slip occurs. The simulation of the dislocation evolution and merging is performed by improved parametric approach and numerical stability is enhanced by the tangential redistribution of the discretization points.

Photonuclear reactions play an important role in many different subfields of nuclear astrophysics, and fields, such as nucleosynthesis applications. The photonuclear reaction cross sections, especially the photoneutron reaction cross sections, are the fundamental properties of nuclear systems. In this study, theoretical evaluation of photoneutron reaction cross sections for 27 ≤ A ≤ 238 targets ($\text{}^{27}Al,$ $\text{}^{96}Mo,$ $\text{}^{181}Ta,$ $\text{}^{238}U$) have been investigated in the incident photon energy range of 7-35 MeV. Monte Carlo code TALYS 1.6 was used to calculate the photoneutron cross sections. The results are compared with the earlier experimental reports in literature and the cross section data in the TENDL-2013 nuclear reaction data library, based on subsequent versions of the TALYS nuclear code system. The photoneutron cross section results and the effects of the mass number of target nuclei are discussed.

The single ionizing collision with an incident electron and atom/molecules ends up two kinds of outgoing electrons called scattering and ejected electrons. As a feature of electron impact ionization these two electrons are indistinguishable. Double differential cross-sections can be obtained by the measurements of energy and angular distributions of one of the two outgoing electrons by a detector. In this perspective, we used He target that is reasonable to expect to understand ionization mechanisms of atomic systems. We have measured double differential cross-sections for asymmetric geometry for different kinematical situations. The experiments are carried out on a newly developed electron spectrometer constructed in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey.

We study the inter-stock correlations for the largest companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange and included in the WIG20 index. Our results from the correlation matrix analysis indicate that the Polish stock market can be well described by a one-factor model. We also show that the stock- stock correlations tend to increase with the timescale of returns and they approach a saturation level for the timescales of at least 200 min, i.e. an order of magnitude longer than in the case of some developed markets. We also show that the strength of correlations among the stocks crucially depends on their capitalization. These results combined with our earlier findings together suggest that now the Polish stock market situates itself somewhere between an emerging market phase and a mature market phase.
