The terminology and conceptual apparatus of modern logistics as a scientific discipline is far from being shaped. Researches and developers of legislative and norm-setting documents are obliged to use their own or barrowed terminology, in both case not shared ubiquitously. Consequently, the interpretations even of basic concepts differ significantly. In particular, there exists an academic and practical point of view that refuse the right for existence of the term “transportation logistics”. This clause is explained by the proclaimed omnipresence and universality of logistics, which has in its operational glossary the term “transportation”, treated as a local, subordinated and thus secondary function. This paper tries to set a decisive rule to distinguish between general logistics and transportation logistics, arguing that these two disciplines are well separated by the objects and methodology, knowledge and activities. In transportation logistics defined this way the authors examine two principal components of the transportation processes, storage (warehousing) and movement (shipping). This consideration lead to conclusions that the classical mathematical toolkit is not fitted for the design and management of modern global supply chains.

Thus, the supply system means: effective transport processes synchronized with goods and documents flow, which cater for flexibility and complexity of services. W artykule omówiony został proces planowania drogowej operacji transportowej związanej z transportem ładunku szybko psującego się na przykładzie ładunku miękkiego truskawki świeżej, gatunek Honeoye, klasa jakościowa I, w ilości 12 ton [netto]. Trasa operacji przewozu rozpoczyna się w Pile (Polska-miejsce siedziby przedsiębiorstwa transportowego), odbiór ładunku w gospodarstwie rolnym w Buszkowie k. Koronowa, a rozładunek w hurtowni artykułów spożywczych Martin Olsson Cashar (Szwecja-Arsta pod Sztokholmem). Celem drugiej części artykułu jest przedstawienie charakterystyki przewożonego ładunku, charakterystyki jednostki ładunkowej, procesu planistycznego w obszarze wyboru technologii transportowej i technologii i systemów transportowych. Przewóz towarów łatwo psujących się jest trudnym zadaniem, dlatego planując przewóz takich towarów przewoźnik musi wziąć pod uwagę wiele czynników jak zakres temperatur przewożonego towaru, wilgotność powietrza, czas trwania przewozu oraz dobranie odpowiedniego środka transportu. Nieprzestrzeganie choć jednej z tych wytycznych może doprowadzić do zepsucia towaru, który nie będzie już nadawał się do spożycia i narazić konsumenta na niebezpieczeństwo, natomiast przewoźnika na ogromne straty finansowe.
The problem of proper road transport operation planning is a basic and optimal element of correct execution of transport order carried out by the transport companies. Reliability of carriers is visible in their choice of a proper transport technology and system. Research and analytical issues are addressed in three parts of the article. A significant logistic problem is shown on the basis of strawberries transport analysis in operational planning system. Carriage of perishable goods is a difficult task, that is why when a transport of such products is planned, the carrier needs to take into consideration factors such as: range of temperatures of given products, air humidity, duration of transport, choosing appropriate means of transport, but above all obeying restrictive legal regulations in the wider logistic chain of the flow of agricultural origin goods. Failure to respect at least one of the guidelines may lead to rotting of products, making them unfit for consumption, endanger consumer of goods and put the carrier at risk of financial losses.

Dokonano wyboru środka transportowego zgodnie w metodą wagową (ważoną). Trasa operacji przewozu rozpoczyna się w Pile (Polska) - miejsce siedziby przedsiębiorstwa transportowego), odbiór ładunku w gospodarstwie rolnym w Buszkowie k. Koronowa, a rozładunek w hurtowni artykułów spożywczych Martin Olsson Cashar (Szwecja–Arsta pod Sztokholmem). Artykuł składa się z czterech części. Wszystkie części prezentują elementy procesu planistycznego i przewozowego w transporcie drogowym pod względem prawnym, technicznym oraz ekonomicznym towaru szybko psującego się. Zostały zawarte w niej wszelkie informacje prawne dotyczące przewozu drogowego rzeczy oraz warunki jakie musi spełniać przewoźnik drogowy wykonując przewóz świeżych owoców miękkich. Scharakteryzowano pod względem technicznym i prawnym pojazdy do przewozu towarów szybko psujących się. Dokonano również charakterystyki procesu transportowego, technologii transportowych, systemów transportowych, analizę techniczno-ekonomiczną procesu oraz stworzono projekt technologiczny procesu przewozowego towaru uwzględniając wszystkie czynność towarzyszące temu procesowi.
The process of globalization fosters a growing need of transport. What is more, development of road infrastructure and construction of a dense network of routes leads to situation where road transport becomes a significant factor that improves economic growth of many countries. Delivery of goods to their final destination-“door to door principle”-makes road transport one of the most important branches of transport. Carriage of increasing number of goods and the development of free market economy led to emergence of many companies that provide shipping services. Goods are divided into groups which indicates what conditions are to be met by the carrier in order to carry out transportation. Perishable goods can be listed as one of such groups. The range and type of transported goods is very large from quick frozen products, through chilled products, to the ones that require heating. Carriage of perishable goods is a difficult task, that is why when a transport of such products is planned, the carrier needs to take into consideration factors such as: range of temperatures of given products, air humidity, duration of transport, choosing appropriate means of transport, but above all obeying restrictive legal regulations in the wider logistic chain of the flow of agricultural origin goods. Opis:
Increasing urbanization, lifestyle changes, decentralization of business activity and growing use of private vehicles (in conjunction with the failure of public transport) raises a number of negative phenomena, particularly in the urban areas. One of the most promising fields which seem to prevent this disasters is the introduction of underground freight transport, allowing the transport of goods (both to the city and from the city) by a system of tunnels and pipelines. The author browses solutions for underground urban transport, both implemented and planned. The article includes R & D centers engaged in the development of underground transport technology. Based on literature review and analysis the author assesses the prospects for the development of underground freight transport with particular emphasis on urban areas.

The article encompasses the analysis of logistic processes supporting the marketing activity of enterprises. These processes include in particular: transportation, warehousing, managing the level and the structure of inventory and streams of information used in steering. During the ongoing Polish economic transformation (1989–2014) significant changes, both quantitative and qualitative, have occurred, which have had a beneficial effect on the activity of enterprises and their market positions. Transportation of goods is mainly taken care of by private enterprises, which own modern fleet of vehicles. Polish transport enterprises successfully compete on the European markets. Modern warehouses, equipped with automated measures of warehousing operations provide adequate protection of inventory and efficiency of manipulative operations (unloading, relocation and loading).Basic numerical data, which characterizes the level and structure of inventory, was presented in the article. Inventory management was adjusted to the needs of clients and became a significant instrument of ensuring the efficiency of sales processes. A concise characteristics of information systems that are used in the logistic processes of enterprises was also presented in the article.

In recent time, as the Chinese consumption level increases, the consumption quantity of high-value fruits, vegetables and seafood products have been increasing year by year. As a consequence, the traffic volume of refrigerated products also increases yearly and the popularization degree of the cold-chain transportation enhances. A low-temperature environment should be guaranteed during transportation, thus there is about 40% of diesel oil should be consumed by the refrigerating system and the cold-chain transportation becomes very costly. This study aimed to explore methods that could reduce the cost of transport packages of refrigerated products. On the basis of the heat transfer theory and the fluid mechanics theory, the heat exchanging process of corrugated cases during the operation of refrigerating system was analyzed, the heat transfer process of corrugated cases and refrigerator van was theoretically analyzed and the heat balance equation of corrugated cases was constructed.

The logistics industry is developing rapidly at the global level. The trend toward implementing virtual reality in business and digitalization is growing. The growth of consumer demand for logistics services and their high quality provokes an increase in freight turnover around the world, allowing logistics processes to improve. At the same time, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic was an unpredictable event that led to a crisis and chaos in logistics and demonstrated the unpreparedness of global logistics for such situations. Researchers say the effects of the pandemic are just beginning and will last for the next three years. The study aims to determine the duration of the effects of a pandemic, their impact on logistics, and identify the preconditions for preventing potential crises. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to analyze the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on global logistics, predict the development of the logistics crisis for the next study period, conclude, and offer recommendations. Logistics was able to respond quickly to the new challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and adapt to the new realities of doing business. However, together with such a phenomenally rapid change in the accepted order of life and adjustment to the remote "new" normality, humanity struggles with new waves of the pandemic.

W prezentowanej pracy główna uwaga została skupiona na omówieniu tendencji rozwojowych na polskim rynku spedycyjnym. Celem pracy było sformułowanie odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące tego, czy w przeciągu ostatnich lat rynek usług spedycyjnych w Polsce uległ intensywnemu rozwojowi, jakie najważniejsze czynniki miały wpływ na ten rozwój, a także jakie perspektywy rysują się przed tym rynkiem. In this paper the main attention was focused on discussing the development trends on the Polish forwarding market. The aim was to formulate answers to questions about whether, in the last years the market for freight services in Poland has been intensive development, the most important factors which have an impact on this development, and what prospects are against this market. The work is divided into three chapters. The first focused on discussing the substance of shipping, including analyzing the term "forwarding" and describing the types of freight. In the second chapter we characterized the most important factors affecting the functioning of forwarding services market in Poland following transformational changes in the late eighties and early nineties the twentieth century. On the other hand, in the third chapter describes current forwarding market in Poland and the prospects that lie before him.

The article discusses the theoretical principles of statistical research with regard to the national market of logistics services during wartime. The system of statistical indicators of the research of the logistics services market is structured through the allocation of separate blocks of indicators by priority of their estimation in war conditions. The market of logistics services of Ukraine is characterised by selected blocks of indicators. The paper identifies the main structural changes that occurred due to the hostilities faced by the country. Moreover, the authors determine the main factors influencing the functioning of the analysed market during war, as the statistical study of these factors is considered necessary for the transformation and development of logistics services. It is substantiated that taking into account such statistical indicators as the level and availability of logistics infrastructure, security, the human factor and changes in legislation are likely to result in a new alternative direction of logistics routes and contribute to the development of the logistics services market in general. The authors proposed the construction of a centralised electronic service (or several services) with the purpose of consolidating information about the logistics infrastructure. The software system should offer the option of an operational interactive visualisation.

The production of freshwater aquaculture fish has developed quickly and being important activity. An intensive logistics system is required to handle the shipment since the aquaculture products especially aquaculture fish are perishable. The process begins right after fish farming to final consumption. It involves a large number of stakeholders as the significant effort is required to build an efficient supply chain. However, little is known about process faced by the Malaysian aquaculture entrepreneurs during the aqua logistics activities. Therefore, this study aims to address this gap by exploring this phenomenon. Methods: For methodology part, a series of 12 aquaculture companies through focus group discussion (FGD) with the entrepreneurs were done across aqua logistic business. This was done to explore the topic and refine the research questions. Results: The present study discovers that there were linkages along the value chain of aqua logistics in aquaculture industry, which provides a specific recommendation to stakeholders in managing day-to-day logistics operations. Also, the findings show four main process emerging from the qualitative study, which led to the following themes, namely: [i] procurement; [ii] production; [iii] order fulfillment; and [iv] transport and distribution. Conclusion: The adopted qualitative methodology provided rich information that will lead the future research. In brief, this study has contributed new knowledge to the existing literature in aqua logistics and will benefit the future studies.
Produkcja ryb słodkowodnych rozwija się szybko i zyskuje coraz większe znaczenie. Intensywny system logistyczna wymaga dobrej obsługi dostaw ze względu na łatwą podatność na psucie się oferowanych produktów. Proces zaczyna się od momentu połowu aż do dostawy do końcowego konsumenta. Obejmuje swoim zasięgiem wielu uczestników, budujących wydajny łańcuch dostaw. Aczkolwiek nadal jest mało dostępnej wiedzy na temat procesu realizowanego przez malezyjskich przedsiębiorców tej branż podczas czynności w obrębie całego łańcucha logistycznego. Celem pracy jest pogłębienie i rozszerzenie wiedzy w tym obszarze. Metody: Do badania wykorzystano grupy fokusowe 12 przedsiębiorstw związanych z badaną działalnością w celu analizy problemu. Wyniki: Prezentowane badania wykazały powiązania wartościowe pomiędzy uczestnikami łańcucha dostaw w obrębie aqua-przemysłu, które dostarczają specyficznych rekomendacji uczestnikom łańcucha w codziennych operacjach logistycznych. Dodatkowo wyodrębniono cztery główne procesy związane z następującymi obszarami: zakupy, produkcja, realizacja zamówień oraz transport i dystrybucja. Wnioski: Zastosowana metodologia jakościowa dostarczyła obfitej informacji, które będzie wykorzystana w kolejnych pracach. Rozszerza ona istniejący stan wiedzy na temat aqua-logistyki i stanowi bazę dla przyszłych badań.

Zakresem tematycznym było poddanie analizie możliwości wdrożenia szybkiej kolei miejskiej we Wrocławiu. Analizie poddano zarówno stronę popytową, jak i podażową rynku przewozów pasażerskich we Wrocławiu. W ramach analizy skoncentrowano się na sprawdzeniu rzeczywistych źródeł generowania ruchu pasażerskiego. Źródła te ogólnie podzielono na: sieć osadniczą, jednostki aktywności gospodarczej generujące dojazdy do pracy oraz inne jednostki o charakterze kulturalnym, oświatowym, ochrony zdrowia, handlowym itp. W wyniku dokonanej analizy przedstawiono własną koncepcję funkcjonowania kolei miejskiej. Wrocław jest miastem, które od wielu lat nie ukrywa swoich ambicji w aspirowaniu do miana metropolii europejskiej. Należy przyznać, że od zmiany ustrojowej dokonanej w 1989 r. rzeczywiście widoczny jest bardzo dynamiczny rozwój miasta. Rozwój ten ma wielopłaszczyznowy charakter i dotyczy sfery gospodarczej i  kulturalno-społecznej. Po wielu latach ogromnych zaniedbań również infrastruktura transportowa jest poddawana intensywnej modernizacji.  
Thematic scope was to review the possibility of implementation of the urban rapid rail in Wrocław. We analyzed both the demand side and the supply side as the passenger transport market in Wrocław. The analysis focuses on the verification of actual passenger traffc generation sources. These sources generally divided into the settlement network, the units of economic activity generating commuting and other units of cultural, educational, health, shopping, etc. As a result of the analysis, presented their own concept of rail the urban. Wrocław is a city which for many years did not hide his ambition to become the aspiration of a European metropolis. It must be admitted that the political changes effected in 1989, indeed see a very dynamic development of the city. This development is multidimensional in nature and applies to both spheres of economic, cultural and social. After many years enormous transport infrastructure undergoes intense modernization.
