Jest on zdefiniowany w kontekście przejścia Tangaza University College do statusu pełnego katolickiego uniwersytetu. Kluczowe pojęcia są najpierw zdefiniowane, a następnie przedstawione na tle eklezjalnym. Nie brakuje historycznej prezentacji Tangaza University College. Artykuł przedstawia analizę aplikacji prawa kenijskiego odnośnie do ustanowienia uniwersytetu w połączeniu z rozwiązaniami kanonicznymi. Wymienione są poszczególne wyzwania obecne w obu systemach prawnych.
    The paper presents Catholic education as an integral component of Church’s evangelization mission which must be pursued in a manner that presupposes Catholic identity. So the author discusses Catholic identity in the context of Tangaza University College as it transits to becoming a fully fledged Catholic university. Several key issues are featured which include the basic understanding of the terms Catholic and Catholicity and situating Catholic identity in ecclesiastical context. There is also a presentation of Tangaza University College in her history and identity. This article also investigates the application of civil legislations in the Republic of Kenya in establishing a university as well as the application of ecclesiastical laws in a Catholic university. The discussion also features the challenges involved in pursuing Catholic identity in a Catholic university

    W artykule przedstawiono genezę, ewolucję i stan obecny katolickich szkół prawniczych w USA na tle zachodzących zmian społecznych i kulturowych. Od lat 60-70. minionego stulecia większość z nominalnie katolickich szkół prawniczych w Stanach Zjednoczonych praktycznie nie różni się od swoich świeckich odpowiedników. W ocenie Autora wyraźną katolicką tożsamość tych szkół należy kształtować, kierując się postanowieniami Konstytucji apostolskiej Jana Pawła II Ex Corde Ecclesiae. W pierwszej kolejności tożsamość ta powinna przejawiać się w działalności badawczo-dydaktycznej. Program nauczania studentów oraz twórczość naukowa wykładowców powinny uwzględniać bogatą katolicką tradycję filozoficzno-teologiczną. Katolickie szkoły prawnicze, nie tylko te w Stanach Zjednoczonych, są powołane do integralności religijnej tożsamości z pełnym profesjonalizmem, wiary z rozumem, respektowania katolickiej doktryny i moralności z działaniem ściśle naukowym i krytycznym ukierunkowanym na poszukiwanie i głoszenie obiektywnej prawdy, przekazywania wiedzy studentom z ich duchowo-intelektualną formacją.
    The article presents the genesis, evolution and current status of Catholic law schools in the USA against the background of social and cultural changes. Since the 1960s and 1970s most of the nominally Catholic law schools in the United States have practically been no different from their secular counterparts. In the Author’s opinion, the clear Catholic identity of those schools should be framed in the light of the provisions of Pope John Paul II’s Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae. In the first place, this identity should manifest itself in the research and teaching of a wide range of legal topics. The curriculum and the scholarship of the faculty should take into account the rich Catholic philosophical and theological tradition. Catholic law schools, not only those in the United States, are called to the integrity of their religious identity with full professionalism, faith with reason, respect for Catholic doctrine and morality with strictly scientific and critical methodology aimed at seeking and communicating objective truth, transferring knowledge to students with their spiritual- and intellectual formation.

    This article is the beginning of research on the issue of emigration. It is here to investigate the state of faith of Poles living in London. For this purpose, the authors have analyzed the religious situation of London. So they made a spiritual map of the capital of England. In the rest of the article the theology of the city is analyzed. Contemporary cities are carriers of new theological content and the requirements to work out new paradigms. The elaboration of theology of the city will allow to properly illustrate the problem of the faith of Polish Catholics living in London. The authors of the article, using the elements of theology of city, briefly presented the purpose of the research, the method and the expected results of the research. The article can therefore be considered as the beginning of research. It is also an incentive for other researchers.

    Opis:
    At the request of the Order of the White Eagle chapter in recognition of merit among others for restoration of religioous life on the Eastern Borderlands, in 2017 father Marian Franciszek Cardinal Jaworski was decorated by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. This leader of the Roman Catholic Church was born in Lwów on 21 August 1926, he is a lecturer of philosophy and theology. He served the Church both in the Ukraine and Poland. Senior Metropolitan Archbishop of Lwów and former Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Łuck and the President of Ukrainian Episcopate is an example of a pastor of people who retain their Polish identity as Catholics residing in post-Soviet countries. He was actively involved in the regeneration of religious and patriotic life in the Ukraine after 1991, recreating the system of parishes and setting up new institutions such as: Lwów Archdiocese Seminary in Brzuchowice and many other church structures. He supported different kinds of organizations and institutions aiming to form a new generation of Poles. In 1995–1997 he carried out the Archdiocese Synod implementing provisions of Vaticanum II. He contributed to the rebirth of women’s and men’s religious orders in the Ukraine. Moreover, he is a prominent character who serves Poles outside the current borders of Poland. Furthermore, his unquestionable pastoral impact on sustaining the national identity has to be pointed out as well. The article presents not only detailed explanation of the Cardinal’s achievements but is an attempt to pay tribute to Cardinal Jaworski and commemorate his input. In an attempt to maximize the reliability in portraying Cardinal Jaworski the author has chosen an analytical and critical research method.

    Der vorliegende Artikel wurde dem Einfluss der Bekehrung auf den Identitätswandel gewidmet. Den Forschungsgegenstand bildet die Identitätsbildung und -Entwicklung der Hauptheldin Veronika im Roman Das Schweißtuch der Veronika von Gertrud von le Fort. Zuerst wurden anhand von Wörterbüchern, Lexika und Fachliteratur die Schlüsselworte – Bekehrung (Konversion) und Identität – definiert. Die hier angenommene Definition der Konversion bedeutet nicht nur die Bekehrung sensu stricto, sondern auch die Vertiefung des geistigen und religiösen Lebens. Die Definitionen der Identität weisen auf verschiedene Bereiche des Begriffs hin. Es gibt u.a. eine individuelle, d.h. persönliche Identität, eine soziale und religiöse Identität. Die darauf folgende Analyse konzentriert sich vor allem auf die Identitätsbildung der Titelheldin, die durch ihre Familienangehörigen, Bekannten sowie das ganze Milieu beeinflusst und infolge der Bekehrung schrittweise verändert wird. Veronikas Bekehrung führt dazu, dass sie nicht nur sich selbst und die sie umgebende Welt anders zu definieren beginnt, sondern das, was für sie den höchsten Wert darstellt, also den katholischen Glauben, mit ihren Taten bestätigt. Die im vorliegenden Beitrag durchgeführte Untersuchung wurde durch viele Zitate aus dem Roman sowie der Sekundärliteratur belegt.

    Przez wiele ostatnich dekad akademicka eklezjologia katolicka była skoncentrowana głównie na Kościele powszechnym. Nadszedł czas by „odkryła” obecność Boga także w Kościołach lokalnych i partykularnych, ich historii, wyjątkowych osobach (świętych, błogosławionych, męczennikach), wkładzie w kulturę, życie społeczne i moralne. Katolicka eklezjologia powinna otworzyć oczy na wyjątkowość i tożsamość lokalnych i partykularnych Kościołów. Dotychczas pojęcie „tożsamość” w języku eklezjologicznym było zarezerwowane do Kościoła powszechnego i rozumiane jako jego statyczna natura oraz przymioty. Niniejszy artykuł jest metodologicznym zarysem rozumienia tożsamości Kościołów lokalnych i partykularnych. Inicjuje go wprowadzenie do właściwego, nieredukcyjnego, rozumienia pojęcia „tożsamość Kościoła”, po czym omówione zostały główne tychże Kościołów rodzaje tożsamości wraz z ich komponentami: tożsamość teologiczna (tożsamość w Bogu, tożsamość eklezjologiczna, teologiczna auto-tożsamość, tożsamość personalistyczna, pastoralna, tożsamość w znakach wiarygodności, tożsamość w kontekście aktualnych wyzwań), tożsamość historyczna (geneza, główne okresy dziejów, tożsamość stanowiona, ogólna tożsamość historyczna, aktualna tożsamość historyczna), tożsamość etyczno-moralna, tożsamość kulturowa i inne (tożsamość religijna, aktualna auto-tożsamość, tożsamość komparatywna). Autor ma nadzieję, że nowa metodologiczna perspektywa, ukazana w artykule, może wzbogacić eklezjologię, uczynić ją bardziej realistyczną, „żywą” oraz otworzyć ją na nowe sposoby uzasadniania wiarygodności Kościoła.
    According to the Catholic faith the Church established by Jesus Christ subsistit in the Catholic Church as the Universal Church (Ecclesia universalis, Catholica). This Church is also communio Ecclesiarum and subsistit in local and particular Churches, and in community among them. Joseph Ratzinger, following the teaching of the Catholic Church, reminds that a local Church (Ecclesia localis) means a patriarchy or a `specific community of traditions and rites' and a particular Church (Ecclesia particularis) means a community of believers subjected to one bishop (a diocese). Post-conciliar Catholic ecclesiology has been mostly focused on the Universal Church. Such `universal' ecclesiology earned mature methodologies. But meantime, the Universal Church has also been present in local and particular Churches which are making their own history and identity day by day. For example, in 2016 the Catholic Church in Poland celebrated 1050th Jubilee which itself offered an opportunity to describe its main dimensions and identity. So-called young Churches are on their way to establish their identity. By no means, in our times and eyes the `identity' becomes one of the key-words in theological refection on the Church. The more secular the modern world and culture become, the more clearly one can see the difference between them and the Church. This paper offers a methodological outline of the identity of local and particular Catholic Churches. Its purpose is to name and shortly describe main kinds of such identity (theological, historical, ethical-moral, cultural) and their components. But first, making some remarks as introduction is very much required.
