    Opis:
    Construction of new ports requires applying the entire range of methods and the close cooperation between designers and specialists of different field including safety of navigation or oceanography. At present there is no possible to conduct of such investments without carrying out simulation examinations. These studies most often take place as multistage where the next stage is the result of the previous one. The paper presents complex method of water areas optimization with consideration of navigational safety. In the present study was implemented real-time simulation method. Methods of the simulation of the real time leaning against manoeuvre simulators have been applied. Two distinct from each other alternatives have been explored and the best in terms of safety of navigation has been selected as final. The results were used as a guideline for the development project of a small Polish seaport in Mielno.

    Opis:
    This article aims to analyse the statistical parameters of waterways forming the entrance to the port and the construction of a model for determining the optimum parameters of the entrance to the port. It has been analyzed parameters of the entrances to the 100 selected global ports, based on the analysis it was examined the interdependence between certain parameters and the impact they have on the maximum size of the ship which can enter to the port. This analysis allowed to develop a model, which can possible to be applied to the entrance of initial port design.

    Opis:
    In relation to the current development of the sailing, modernization and development of yacht ports and marinas are necessary. The preparations process, stages of the design, analyses and finally construction of yacht ports is time-consuming and laborious. In the article a statistical analysis of selected design parameters was described. In order to carry out the analysis a database was created based on 210 ports from different regions of the world such as: Europe, North America, Australia and South Asia. Google Earth was used to obtain the actual values of the analyzed parameters. Most of achieved results was described in the form of tables or graphs.
    W związku z bieżącym rozwojem żeglarstwa, konieczna jest modernizacja oraz rozwój portów jachtowych i marin jachtowych. Proces przygotowania, etapy projektowania, analizy i wreszcie budowa portów jachtowych jest czasochłonna oraz pracochłonna. W artykule opisano statystyczną analizę wybranych parametrów projektowych. W celu przeprowadzenia analizy stworzono bazę danych opartą na 210 portach z różnych regionów świata, np: Europa, Ameryka Północna, Australia i Azja Południowa. Do uzyskania rzeczywistych wartości analizowanych parametrów wykorzystano Google Earth. Większość uzyskanych wyników została opisana w formie tabel lub wykresów.

    Obecnie obserwuje się wzrost zainteresowania projektowaniem urbanistycznym i architektonicznym z wykorzystaniem wody lub wręcz projektowania nowych terenów miejskich na obszarach wodnych. Sposób postrzegania strefy graniczenia wody i lądu w mieście ulega transformacji, a związek między tymi dwoma tkankami – znacznemu zacieśnieniu, w skutek czego w ostatnim dziesięcioleciu zaczęło kształtować się pojęcie niebieskich przestrzeni miejskich. Wciąż jednak pozostaje ono niejednoznaczne, kształtując się wraz ze wzrostem świadomości dotyczącym rozwoju przestrzeni na styku lądu i wody i wymaga usystematyzowania. W artykule nakreślono genezę pojęcia, a także zestawiono figurujące w literaturze przedmiotu definicje niebieskiej przestrzeni. Przeprowadzając ich analizę wyróżniono trzy charakterystyczne aspekty tego zagadnienia, jakim jest aspekt przestrzenny, środowiskowy i społeczny. W kontekście powyższych przeprowadzono syntezę zgromadzonych danych bibliograficznych prowadzącą do zgłębienia istoty niebieskiej przestrzeni oraz wyszczególnienia jej ogólnej charakterystyki. Wśród jej uniwersalnych cech wyróżniono obecność wody powierzchniowej w różnym stopniu w danej przestrzeni lub też jej silne oddziaływanie na daną przestrzeń, charakter miejski przestrzeni, a także istotne oddziaływania unikalnych cech tkanki wodnej na jej użytkowników. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na sformułowanie szczegółowej i wiarygodnej definicji niebieskiej przestrzeni uzupełniającej dotychczasowy stan literatury.
    Currently, there is a growing interest in urban and architectural design using water or even the design of new urban areas on, under or above water. The perception of the zone on the edge of water and land in the city undergoes transformation and the relationship between these two tissues is tightened, as a result of which in the last decade the concept of blue urbans paces began to take shape. However, this concept s till remains ambiguous, being shaped with increasing awareness of the development of space at the interface between land and water and requires systematization. The article outlines the genesis of the concept and also compares the definitions of the blue space in the subject literature. Conducting their analysis, three characteristic aspects of the issue are distinguished: the spatial, environmental and social aspects. In the context of the above, a sythesis of collected bibliographic data was carried out leading to deepening the essence of the blue space and specifying its general characteristics. Among its universal features, the presence of surface water in various degrees in a given space or its strong impact on a given space, the urban character of space, as well as the significant impact of unique features of water tissue on its users have been distinguished. The conducted analysis allowed to formulate a detailed and reliable definition of urban blue space complementing the current state of literature.

    The increasing sizes of ships and lack of functionality of the existing solutions determine the interest in rebuilding the already existing solutions. Simulation models allow to analyse the possible modernisation variants taking into account the variability of elementary parameters. The article presents analysis results for the Przemyslowy Canal in Szczecin with respect to navigation safety and regulating traffic regulations in the Przemyslowy Canal taking into consideration the interests of all subjects involved. The paper applies real-time simulation methods based on manoeuvring simulators. After a thorough analysis that took into account the safety of navigation, further possibilities of development have been determined. Study results are aimed at designing new solutions in case of modernization of the Przemyslowy Canal in Szczecin.

    The investment policy applied by seaport authorities has a great impact on the state of the natural environment in coastal regions. Unfortunately, in many cases, their environmental efforts are limited to the issues which are defined by the applicable legal regulations determined by International Maritime Organization, the Organization of United Nations and the European Commission etc. However, in recent years we can observe significant improvement in this area, especially in the seaports of Northern Europe. They often decide on highly capital-intensive pro-ecological investments allowing to reduce the level of pollution emitted from cruise ships during their handling in ports, such as e. g. the opportunity of connecting vessels to the shore-side energy supply systems. Various solutions in this area are currently used in the world. The ports in Northern Europe are currently the leaders in this area. The use of such solutions is cost-intensive, but it significantly reduces the level of pollution emitted by ships into the environment, and the level of noise and vibration caused by engines. This paper aims to assess the seaports' involvement in Northern Europe in the preparation of seaport infrastructure enabling cruise ships to be connected to the onshore power supply systems. The article contains the results of surveys conducted with the use of two methods to adjust the research technique to the respondents’ needs, i.e. CASI (Computer-Assisted Self Interviewing) and EMS (Electronic Mail Survey). The empirical research was conducted among the seaports in Northern Europe. The results of the survey may be of interest to seaport authorities and cruise ship owners.
