    Opis:
    Keeping the linear part of transmission infrastructure in proper technical condition, ensure an appropriate level of safety require performing a number of exploitation activities. The use of Metal Magnetic Memory (MPM) method, mainly Non-contact Magnetometrie Diagnostics (NMD) is a very interesting solution for gas pipelines testing. The method is used primarily for unpiggable gas pipelines. In the gas industry can be seen a growing interest of use such methods, due to its effectiveness and applicability of NMD tests without the need for excavations and is an alternative to predictive methods. The article present the examples of using the Metal Magnetic Memory method for the high pressure gas pipelines testing with examples of detected defects.

    The large industrial cranes carry out transportation operations in the presence of a large impact load and mechanical stresses acting on the crane’s structure. The safety and efficiency of crane operations can be improved through providing the continuous structural health monitoring of crane’s equipment and components. Advanced non-destructive techniques can be employed for inspection of cranes during operation, that leads to reduce the down time costs and increase the safety confidence in the monitoring process. Magnetic flux leakage methods of non-destructive inspection are widely utilized in identification of damaged areas in steel structures. However, the traditional magnetic flux leakage techniques are more appropriate in detecting cracks, but not sensitive to the detection of micro-defects. Metal magnetic memory is a relatively novel method of detecting the micro-damage in ferro-magnets due to the stress concentration. This method proved its effectiveness in early identification of the possible defect location. However, the method is preferable to off-line inspection due to the presence of operational variations in on-line measurements that can cause false indications of damage. In this paper, the problem of continuous inspection of crane’s frame using the metal magnetic memory method is considered. The influence of operational variations on the self-magnetic flux leakage signal is investigated and quantitatively analysed based on the experimental results obtained on a laboratory-scaled overhead travelling crane.

    The safety and efficiency of material handling systems involve periodical inspections and evaluation of transportation device technical conditions. That is particularly important in case of industrial cranes, since they are subjected to a large impact load and mechanical stresses acting on the crane's structure and equipment. The paper considers the possibility of a crane structure inspection using the metal magnetic memory (MMM) method. As an advanced non-destructive technique, this method can be employed for inspection of crane structure during operation, which leads to reduce the down time costs and increase the safety confidence in the monitoring process. The MMM technique is effective for early identification of the possible defect location and detecting the micro-damage in ferromagnetic structures through detecting the stress concentration areas. The basic principle of MMM method is the self-magnetic flux leakage signal that correlates with the degree of stress concentration. This method allows detecting early damage of ferromagnetic material through performing measurement in the earth magnetic field, without the use of a special magnetizing device. The paper presents the experimental results carried out on the double-girder overhead travelling crane with hoisting capacity 1000 kg. The influence of the load variation and duration time on the intensity of the self-magnetic flux leakage signal is analysed and discussed.

    Opis:
    This article presents three independent concepts of use high-level technique with it adaptation and implementation concerning overhead travelling crane device type. The main objective of this statement applies a solution for device workspace mapping, payload anti-sway control techniques strategy use and possibility of reliable steel construction health monitoring. In the first chapter, the vision system technology for obstacle in workspace visualization was presented. The main idea depends on use stereovision system with sets of camera mounted under the crane’s trolley which movement with the crane shifts. The stereo pictures, after digital processing, were used for develop so-called dense disparity map. The described architecture allows achieving information about device surroundings and obstacle position in the workspace. As the final result was presented three-dimensional map of the device workspace with obtained result accuracy discussion. The second type of described problem developed in chapter two concern the crane control methodology of designing the anti-sway system for payload stabilizing during the crane movement. The oscillation of a payload adversely affects the accuracy of performed transportation tasks and may present a safety hazard to employees, transferred payload and surrounding objects. The invented and described method mainly base on so-called soft computing methods. The next part of the article-focused attention of problem concerning health monitoring cranes construction as other equipment’s as well. The problem concerns usually the large industrial cranes carry out transportation operations in the presence of a large impact load and mechanical stresses acting overall crane’s structure. The safety and efficiency of crane operations can be improved through providing the continuous structural health monitoring as well in on-line and off-line mode. The main idea allows using Metal Magnetic Memory technique for supervising and estimating steel construction actual condition. All tests and considerations were conducted on the scaled physical model of overhead travelling crane with hosting capability 150 kg

    Railway's surface defects belong to some kind of railway's flaws not been detected by traditional ultrasonic method and therefore they pose a major thread to the safety of railway traffic. Paper's aim is to present the Method of Metal Magnetic Memory along with SVM network allowing for detection of surface defects. Signals coming from the device whose operation is based on this method are given to wavelet's packet block extracting the most important features characterizing surface defects, followed by SVM network operating as a classifier.
    W artykule przedstawiono próbę wykorzystania metody magnetycznej pamięci metalu wraz z klasyfikatorem opartym o sieć SVM (Support Vector Machines) do wykrywania wad powierzchniowych występujących w szynach kolejowych. Wady te są niewykrywalne przez tradycyjne metody oparte na ultradźwiękach a przez to stanowią poważne zagrożenie dla bezpieczeństwa ruchu pociągów.

    Reliability of electric locomotive power units is the most important condition of electric locomotive wheel gear trouble-free operation. At present visual-measuring inspection and the magnetic-particle method are the basic methods of electric locomotive power units inspection according to the "CS" electric locomotive Repair Rules. The method of Metal Magnetic Memory is an effective method for equipment stress-strained state assessment, which becomes more and more widely spread in practice. MMM is a non-destructive testing method based on registration and analysis of self-magnetic leakage fields distribution on products surface for determination of stress concentration zones, defects, metal and welded joints structure inhomogeneity.
    Niezawodność jednostek napędowych lokomotyw elektrycznych jest jednym z najważniejszych warunków bezawaryjnej pracy kół napędowych lokomotyw. W obecnych czasach, pomiary optyczne oraz metody kontroli oparte o cząstki magnetyczne są podstawowymi metodami badania jednostek napędowych lokomotyw elektrycznych, w szczególności stosowane dla reguł naprawczych lokomotyw elektrycznych "CS". Metoda metalowo - magnetycznej pamięci jest efektywną metodą dla szacowania stanu naprężeniowo - odkształceniowego obiektów, która staje sie coraz szerzej i częściej stosowaną w praktyce. Metoda ta jest nie - niszczącą metodą, opierającą się na rejestracji i analizie rozprzestrzeniania się pól magnetycznych po powierzchni obiektu w celu ustalenia stref koncentracji naprężeń, defektów i niejednorodności metalowych i zespawanych konstrukcji.

    W artykule przedstawiono ogólne podstawy fizyczne metody pamięci magnetycznej metalu, kryteria określania obszarów z anomalią magnetyczną i przykłady jej zastosowań. Metoda Pamięci Magnetycznej Metalu (MPMM) jest szybkim, nieniszczącym narzędziem diagnozowania obszarów wewnętrznych naprężeń i odkształceń oraz różnego rodzaju wad materiałowych. Wykorzystuje ona zjawisko rozproszenia strumienia magnetycznego na obszarach materiału o odmiennej przenikalności magnetycznej. Opisana metoda jest efektywna w wykrywaniu różnego rodzaju wad materiałowych i obszarów koncentracji naprężeń.
    The physical backgrounds of the method of metal magnetic memory and some examples of its application are presented in the paper. The method is a non-destructive testing method to test internal stresses and deformations of material structures and detect existing defects. The method uses a phenomena of dissipation of the magnetic field at fragments of material having different magnetic permeability.

    W artykule zaprezentowano metodę Magnetycznej Pamięci Metalu (MPM) umożliwiającą wykonanie nieniszczących badań różnych obiektów technicznych, zarówno urządzeń mających znaczenie wojskowe, jak i wielkogabarytowych konstrukcji cywilnych. W pracy przedstawiono podstawy fizyczne stosowanej metody, wyniki przeprowadzonych badań oraz zalety i wady pasywnej diagnostyki magnetycznej. W artykule wykazano, że metoda MPM jest szybkim narzędziem pasywnej analizy obszarów, w których występowały bądź występują naprężenia wewnętrzne lub odkształcenia i można ją stosować, jako wstępną metodę diagnozowania obiektów technicznych. Zwrócono również uwagę na konieczność prowadzenia dalszych prac badawczych nad rozwojem zaprezentowanego podejścia diagnostycznego. Spodziewanym efektem tych prac będzie zwiększenie efektywności pasywnej diagnostyki magnetycznej umożliwiające jej zastosowanie w nowych obszarach aplikacyjnych.
    The article shows the Metal Magnetic Memory (MMM) method that allows the execution of passive non-destructive testing of various technical objects, both military devices and civilian large structures. The paper presents a physical basis of used method, the results of conducted tests and advantages and disadvantages of passive magnetic diagnostics. The article shows that the MMM method is a fast tool for the passive analysis of areas where internal stresses or deformations exist and it can be used as a preliminary method for diagnosing technical objects. It is also highlighted the need for further research work on the development of the presented diagnostic approach. The expected result of these works will increase the efficiency of passive magnetic diagnostics enabling its use in new areas of application.
