Diagnostic tests of electrical machines are part of improving operational reliability of these devices over a long period of time. This justifies the monitoring of machines, particularly those who do not have the reserve at the workplace: the power generators, hoisting machines in mines, etc. The problem of diagnosis and monitoring of electrical machines is focused on assessing the technical condition of the electromagnetic circuit and the mechanical system. This article describes the devices used by Laboratory of KOMEL to monitor and diagnose electrical machines. In order to monitoring the GSM network is used with GPRS packet data transmission.

Opis:
A turbogenerator like every machine shows damage through use. All its components are under the influence of different factors. Observations of development of components vibration (trends) can theoretically predict the operation time of the machine. In practice this is not a simple matter due to the presence of interaction in the studied symptom of many (often of unknown origin) factors. The article estimates the lifetime curve of selected parts of the machine using vibration symptoms. On the basis of the curve it is possible to estimate the lifetime of turbogenerator's components. In the case of slowly developing symptoms, this estimate is not possible.

The article presents the possibility an application of Rogowski coils to diagnostics exploational the squirrel-cage induction of motors. It the examples - possibilities of uses were introduced was to detecting in drive the alignment errors (paralell offset), the damage the squirrel-cage as well as airgap eccentricity. The metrological values of coils act it fully useful to diagnostics of motors. The presented in article results of measurements concern coils "own" construction.

Opis:
Some utilizing possibilities of induction motor stator phase current vector function hodographs as diagnostic signals to rotor cage bars (rings) ruptures early discovering during machine work have been described in the paper. As a result of rotor asymmetry, caused by cage bars ruptures, some (1 š2ks)f frequency band currents are induced in the stator, which are overlapping current base frequency (L=50Hz) component. In cases of rotor damages, hodograph course is deformed, comparing to not damaged motor hodograph course. Hodograph deformations, characteristic for rotor bar ruptures have been illustrated by a lot of oscillograph records received during laboratory investigations. These investigations have been carried out for damaged motor feeding cases by voltages from power network and from voltage frequency changers. Hodograph deformations characteristic features for rotor bars damage cases are also seen during simultaneous appearance of other dis-turbances as, for example, impedance asymmetry in one of phases or feeding voltages. It's properly to remark that with the number of ruptured bars the diagnostic signal value and its pulsation can diminished and even lesser values can be received then for little number of ruptured bars. For this reason it's useful to carry out the best continuous or from time to time cage bars control (monitoring), because it permits to discover damages already in initial stadium and by this to exclusion next bar damages and serious machine damages appearance. Diagnostic method proposed should be numbered to non invaded methods. In the solution, which is based on observation and evaluation of motor stator phase current hodographs, could be approved generally machine current measuring system which exist in industrial systems.

There are many problems in practical diagnostics of machines operated in industrial conditions. Those problems make diagnostics difficult. They appear at the time of getting diagnostic signals ( accessibility of signals and disturbances). Next step is diagnostic analysis of registered signals for investigated objects. The main problem at this step is proper interpretation of gotten results, especially in the cases where determination of state of investigated objects is hard and ambiguous. The hardness and ambiguity can be expressed by a question, where the presence of diagnostic signal is caused by damage or by an asymmetrical construction of rotor cage? Using the experience acquired during measuring and analysis work the authors would like to report on practical diagnostics of induction machines in industrial conditions.

Results of dc voltage diagnostic tests of electric machines' insulation (Fig.1) enable the evaluation of insulation's of degradation in accordance with established marking system. The paper presents marking system set from 5 to 1 - see Table 1. The relationship between marking system and characterictics/parameters of insulation system has been shown, basing on results of diagnostic tests of armature windings' insulation of dc generator rated at 4150 kW; 730 V; 500 rpm (Figs.2-6). Table 2 gives the marks for technical assessment of insulation of 20 machines tested in 2000 and 2005. If the marks for 2005 are higher than for 2000, then it means that the machines have been rewound.
