We were interested in specific differences among pupils with regard to the type of preschool day care (parents, grandparents and kindergarten) in order to explain whether the environment in which the child lives before school enrolment has any influence on the development of his/her artistic abilities. Results of the study prove that pupils who spend their preschool period with their parents or grandparents achieve better results in art, especially in the techniques of charcoal drawing and collage painting.

The contemporary challenge regarding the key role of creativity and innovation in the activities of organizations requires new approaches and techniques in the education and learning of managers and business leaders. This article is a contribution to the debate on the legitimacy of using artistic techniques and behaviors in the educational processes in business studies. It also presents the proposal of a model illustrating the way in which artistic creativity affects the conscious and unconscious areas of personality. The text is a review of the current state of knowledge in this field and is based on the research of secondary sources in the form of academic literature reports in the field of management studies. The participant observation technique and unstructured interviews were also used in a group of students and lecturers of the Design and Project Management study program at Czestochowa University of Technology (Poland).

Jednym z częstych problemów pojawiających się w zakresie opieki i wychowania zarówno w środowisku szkolnym, rodzinnym, jak i rówieśniczym, a tym samym jednym z najważniejszych wyzwań współczesnego rodzica, nauczyciela i wychowawcy są zachowania agresywne dzieci i młodzieży, ich profilaktyka oraz terapia. Częstym powodem agresji jest brak umiejętności opanowania gromadzących się w młodym człowieku emocji. Jedną z najmniej zbadanych, a jednocześnie jedną z najbardziej znaczących w tym problemie emocji jest gniew. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja na podstawie literatury przedmiotu wiedzy o emocji gniewu oraz poszukiwanie nowych możliwości badania odczuwanych przez człowieka emocji i tworzenia nowych narzędzi pracy wychowawczej. Jedną z najpopularniejszych metod stosowanych w terapii i profilaktyce fenomenu agresji są działania motywujące do ekspresji plastycznej. Autorka artykułu odwołując się do własnych doświadczeń pracy na stanowisku nauczyciela plastyki, poszukuje wizualnych efektów działania emocji w pracach dzieci w wieku 13–14 lat. Opisuje swoje obserwacje i stosując metody: badania w działaniu, badania przez sztukę oraz analizę dzieła plastycznego Panofsky’ego, prezentuje relację między odczuwaną emocją a ekspresją pracy plastycznej nie tylko w zakresie barwy, lecz także zastosowanych w rysunkach symboli. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań nie dają pewnych i jasnych odpowiedzi na stawiane pytania, ale wskazują na konieczność podjęcia szerszych badań w tym obszarze.
One of the common problems in the field of care and education in the school, family and peer environment, and thus one of the most important challenges of a modern parent, teacher and educator is aggressive behaviour of children and adolescents, their prevention and therapy. A common cause of aggression is the inability to control the emotions accumulated in a young person. One of the least studied and at the same time one of the most significant emotions in this problem is anger. The aim of the article is to present the knowledge about anger, based on the literature, and to search for new opportunities to study emotions experienced by a person and to create new tools for educational work. One of the most popular methods used in the therapy and prevention of aggression are activities that motivate artistic expression. The author of the article, referring to her own experience of working as an art teacher, looks for the visual effects of emotions in the works of children aged 13–14. She describes her observations and using the following methods: research in action, research through art and analysis of Panofsky's artistic work, she presents the relationship between the emotion felt and the expression of artistic work not only in terms of colours, but also symbols used in the drawings. The presented research results do not provide certain and clear answers to the questions posed but indicate the need for more extensive research in this area.

Time is one of the main categories that affect human life. Various communities, nations or tribes perceive and understand time in a different way. In every case understanding of time determines the character of a particular culture.The purpose of this article is an attempt to show the concept of time as a part of the African reality revealed in the literary reportages by R. Kapuściński. The author of “Ebony”, through linguistic and stylistic material, creates a conception of time characteristic of the residents of the Black Continent. Understanding of time is one of the elements of reality in Africa which Kapuœciñski wanted to convey in the most accurate manner. But he knew that the reproducing of the African world is not possible,therefore, the image of time presented on the pages of “Ebony” was his personal perception of the phenomenon, the artistic creation where an objectively existing fragment of reality was filtered through the imagination of the author, his cognitive, intellectual and psychophysical abilities. Kapuściński, by means of linguistic and stylistic expressions, gave literary form to what he saw, heard and read about the African concept of time. First of all, in descriptions of time, the most prominent feature is the author’s tendency to build opposition. Kapuściński confronts two concepts of time: the African and the European. In this way he emphasizes the differences in understanding of the concept of time in both aforementioned cultures, and, at the same time, he highlights the characteristics of time typical to African culture. The accumulation of stylistic devices, unique use of words, selection of appropriate lexis and emphasizing the connotative value of words serve one purpose – to express difficult to convey aspects of African time.Thus, the individual author’s style contributes to the vision of African time, affects modeling of its meaning and imprints a profound, special influence on the actual image of time which is used as a base for a creative play both with imagination and a matter of language.

The aim of this paper is to characterise epithet and its functions in Wybawienie Ruggiera z wyspy Alcyny by S.S. Jagodyński. Performed analysis has demonstrated that epithet, in the work covered by the study, is a form of expression of instrumental nature, although also one that serves a stylistic function. It is characterised by semantics that lack originality, rarely evoke metaphor, nevertheless, undoubtedly, it completes both the world presented on the plot level as well as the depiction of characters. It also often serves an important role as a component that improves cohesion of the text. This instrumentality and, at the same time, efficiency of an epithet may be attributed to the generic dimension of the work, i.e. opera libretto, and that is usually governed by plot and its dynamics, which is very important in an opera, as a peculiar synthesis of the arts.

One of the most essential motifs in Anton Chekhov’s literature is a house, its surroundings and dwellers. There are personal and artistic factors that determine these motifs. Personal aspects refer to the fact that the writer was compelled to change his place of residence several times in his short lifetime. Artistic aspects encompass Chekhov’s insightful employment of the architecture and its surroundings as an additional element in the modes of representation of his characters.

Artykuł podejmuje próbę skonstruowania autorskiego narzędzia deskrypcji dziecięcego procesu tworzenia dzieła plastycznego oraz oceny finalnego efektu tego procesu, jakim jest wytwór wizualny. Poszukiwanie sposobów poznawania dziecka jest jednym z zasadniczych wyzwań współczesnej pedagogiki wczesnoszkolnej, zwłaszcza kiedy podejmujemy kwestie wsparcia rozwoju najmłodszych o specjalnych potrzebach edukacyjnych. Wymiar terapii implikuje bowiem konieczność dogłębnej diagnozy wychowanka, przy czym w tym kontekście istotny jest każdy przejaw jego funkcjonowania, w tym także ekspresja estetyczna. W części pierwszej Autorka skupia się przede wszystkim na wyjaśnieniu, czym jest ekspresja, zwłaszcza emocjonalna, będąca podstawą działań arteterapeutycznych. Dokonuje również przeglądu opracowań dotyczących terapii ekspresyjnej. Zaprezentowane narzędzie deskrypcji dziecięcego procesu tworzenia dzieła plastycznego jest propozycją zapisu danych potrzebnych do postawienia diagnozy. Artykuł jest adresowany przede wszystkim do wykwalifikowanych terapeutów, jest też głosem w dyskusji na temat kompetencji diagnostycznych nauczycieli i pedagogów szkolnych pracujących z dziećmi, których jedną z form ekspresji jest ekspresja artystyczna.
The article attempts to design a proprietary tool to describe the child’s process of creating a work of art and to assess the final effect of this process, namely the visual product. Finding methods of understanding the child is one of the basic challenges of modern early school pedagogy, especially when the issues of support for the development of the youngest are tackled together with those with special educational needs. The dimension of therapy implies the necessity of in-depth diagnosis of the child, with every aspect of his or her functioning being important in this context, including aesthetic expression. In the first part, the author concentrates primarily on an explanation of what expression means, especially in the emotional terms which appear fundamental for art therapeutic activities. The author also makes an overview of issues on expressive therapy. The tool for the description of a child’s art creation process presented proposes the data record needed in order to make a diagnosis. The article is addressed primarily to qualified therapists. It is also a voice in the discussion on the diagnostic competences of teachers and school pedagogues who work with children whose main form of expression is the artistic.

Form of an artistic expression, satire has been present in human’s life for ages. It has many varieties and forms. From the very beginning its practitioners have been subjected to the public authorities restrictions and have been getting into trouble with the ones who became objects of the artist projections. In Polish regulation – law, there is a justification of admissible satire, covered by the article 41 of the press law, witch is an extension to the justification of admissible criticism, covered by the article 213 of the polish penal code. However, there is no such thing as justification of art. due to this fact, the artist may be fully liable both for violation of personal rights and the offence of defamation.

Artykuł dotyczy performansu Niepokalana (2020), w którym australijska artystka Casey Jenkins podjęła tematykę queerowej reprodukcji i rodzicielstwa. Artystka zmierzała do samozapłodnienia przy użyciu nasienia od dawcy, transmitując performans na żywo. Proces miał być powtarzany co miesiąc w zależności od dnia owulacji aż do poczęcia. Autorka artykułu dokonuje krytycznej analizy i interpretacji Niepokalnej w kontekście udawania i autentyczności działań artystki. Następnie autorka omawia problem zacierania przez artystkę granic pomiędzy jej własnym życiem a sztuką, pomiędzy prokreacją a działaniem artystycznym oraz wyjaśnia związek pomiędzy procesem twórczym a jego wytworem. Finalnie autorka omawia możliwe zastrzeżenia w stosunku do Niepokalanej, w tym kwestię poczęcia dziecka jako dzieła sztuki. Sedno kontrowersji tkwi w utożsamieniu procesu tworzenia sztuki i prokreacji. Autorka stawia hipotezę, że rezygnacja z prawdziwej inseminacji nie musi jednak podważać autentyczności performansu, a nawet może wzmocnić jego autentyczność. Autorka artykułu dowartościowuje moralny aspekt decyzji artystycznej, zarówno w perspektywie autentyczności twórczości artystycznej, jak i w kontekście znaczenia działań artystycznych dla człowieka oraz relacji pomiędzy osobą artysty a publicznością.
The article is about performance IMMACULATE (2020) by Casey Jenkins focused on problems of queer reproduction. The artist intended to live stream an act of self-insemination every month during ovulation until conception. The author provides critical analysis and interpretation of the performance in the context of pretence and authenticity of the artist’s actions. Flowingly, the author discusses deliberate blurring of boundaries between artist’s life and art, between human reproduction and artistic creation, and explains the relationship between process of creation and its artwork. Finally, the author discusses possible objections to IMMACULATE including issue that a child may be conceived as an artwork. The core of this controversy starts from welding of art creation and procreation. However, resigning from real insemination does not have to undermine the authenticity of art performance or it can make it even more authentic. The author emphasizes the moral aspect of artistic decision-making either in the context of authenticity of art creation or the relational dimension of art where any artistic action taken towards other humans is significant.

Polish Feminism – Paradigms The issue of feminist art struggles with a great problem. In my study I focus solely on Polish artists, and thus on the genealogy of feminist art in Poland. Although all the presented activities brought up the feminist thread, in many cases a dissonance occurs on the level of the artists’ own reflections. There is a genuine reluctance of many Polish artists to use the term “feminist” about their art. They dissent from such categorization as if afraid that the very name will bring about a negative reception of their art. And here, in my opinion, a paradox appears, because despite such statements, their creativity itself is in fact undoubtedly feminist. I think that Polish artists express themselves through their art in an unambiguous way – they show their feminine „I”. The woman is displayed in their statement about themselves, about the experiences, their body, their sexuality. Feminism defined the concept of art in a new way. The state- ment that art has no gender is a myth. The activities of women-artists are broader and broader, also in Poland women become more and more noticed and appreciated. Feminist art does not feature a separate artistic language, it rather features a tendency towards realism, lent by photogra- phy or video, which reflects the autonomy of the female reception of the world. It should be stated that feminism is a socially needed phenomenon, and its critique drives successive generations of women-artists.

The article focuses on the possibility of excluding criminal liability of artists for their conduct which bears the attributes of an offence against religious feelings and which is a manifestation of their artistic expression. The existing conceptions of a non-legal justification based on art are analysed. The article also deals with the importance of the right enjoyed by journalists to publish negative appraisals of creative, professional and public acts, and its impact on the assessment of the punishability of a conduct that insults religious feelings. Also, reference is made to the possibility of evoking a justification by the injured party’s consent in the case of an offence against religious feelings, especially in a situation when the victim comes into contact with the offensive content deliberately and voluntarily. The dogmatic considerations are supplemented with a presentation of court rulings that are relevant to the study.

Opis:
The article analyses the significance of silence and how the ability to speak is developed by the main character in My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. The voice she finds not only enables her to talk about certain events from her past but also express herself as an artist. The paper draws on Frank Kermode’s studies of memory and secrecy: Secrets and Narrative Sequence, Memory and The Man in the Macintosh as well as Esther Rashkin’s psychoanalytically grounded analysis of secrecy. The paper aims to show that silence is the driving force of the narrative.
Artykuł analizuje znaczenie ciszy i proces odzyskiwania głosu przez główną bohaterkę powieści Elizabeth Strout pt. Mam na imię Lucy. Odnaleziony głos pomaga bohaterce uporać się z własną przeszłością, a także znaleźć drogę do wyrażenia siebie w sposób twórczy. Artykuł odnosi się do esejów Franka Kermode’a, poruszających temat pamięci i sekretów: Sekrety i narracyjne sekwencje, Pamięć i Człowiek w macintoshu oraz osadzonej w tradycji krytyki psychoanalitycznej analizie znaczenia sekretów autorstwa Esther Rashkin. Artykuł ma na celu wykazanie, że cisza jest siłą napędową narracji w powieści.

This paper entitled „May Your Spirit Step Down... a Stylistic and Theological Analysis of John Paul II's Homily (Warszawa, 2nd June 1979)” shows John Paul II as Pastor who is very meticulous in his ministry of the word. In his first homily delivered in Poland he used various stylistic means to make his listeners accept his theological message. Most often he used various repetitions, rich semantic metaphors, and vivid similes. His words point at the Christocentric dimension of the history of particular people and the whole nation. They also remind them about the value of martyrdom and the need to give testimony. The Holy Father helps the listeners of his homily to accept this theological truth that the history of the nation is the history of salvation. The Pope's teaching turned out to be an effective challenge to Marxist ideology and originated transformations in the life of the whole nation.
