Opis:: This article shows the results assessment of the impact of various reclamation methods with the use of mineral wool and municipal sewage sludge on chemical and biological indicators, which have an impact on the improvement of the quality of soil degraded by sulfur well mining. The results of the research showed that the type of waste together with it application method, had a beneficial effect on the shaping of the chemical and biological properties of soil. The most favorable effect was noted in the conditions of combining mineral wool with sewage sludge. At this work we used the PHYTOTOXIKIT biological test, as an indicator of the ecotoxicological effect of selected waste added, for the efficiency of the soil remediation process.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono model obliczania kosztu cyklu życia budynku mieszkalnego jednorodzinnego oraz wskazano możliwości ograniczenia wydatków związanych z jego użytkowaniem w okresie trzydziestu lat. Celem prezentowanej analizy rachunku kosztu cyklu życia jest porównanie i ocena kosztów nabycia i użytkowania domu realizowanego według alternatywnych technologii z uwzględnieniem przyjętych rozwiązań w zakresie pozyskania energii, wykorzystanych materiałów, systemów grzewczych i wentylacji. Otrzymane rezultaty wskazują na korzyści płynące z wykorzystania w praktyce algorytmu przedstawionego w artykule.
In the article has been presented a model for calculating the life cycle cost of a single-family residential building and has been indicated the possibilities of reducing expenses related to its use over a period of thirty years. The purpose of the presented analysis of the life cycle cost account is to compare and evaluate the costs of acquiring and operating a house constructed according to alternative technologies, taking into account the solutions adopted in the field of energy, materials, heating and ventilation systems. The obtained results indicate the benefits of using the algorithm presented in the article in practice.

Opis:: The objective of this research was to determine the influence of iota-carrageenan and its acid and enzymatic hydrolysates on the physical properties of milk ice cream mixes. The main factors considered were the Turbiscan stability index, backscattering profile, particle size distribution and median diameter (D₅₀), the consistency index and the flow behavior index of ice cream mix before and after 24 h of maturation at 4°C. The microstructure of emulsion was also analysed based on confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). The addition of iota-carrageenan resulted in lower stability of emulsion compared to emulsions with its acid and enzymatic hydrolysates. The sedimentation, coalescence and flocculation were observed based on the backscattering profile and CLSM images. The addition of stabilisers contributed to an increase in D50 of ice cream mix from 17.56 to 37.05–45.50 µm before maturation and from 34.73 to 46.73 µm after maturation. The iota-carrageenan after commercial lactase treatment improved the stability of milk ice cream mixes by increasing the consistency index to 0.104 and a flow behaviour index to 0.702. Finally, it may be concluded that the stabilisers used – iota-carrageenan and its hydrolysates – significantly influenced the physical properties of milk ice cream mixes and, hence, can be used as beneficial ingredients in the recipe of milk ice cream mixes.

Opis:: This article presents the program for eating disorders treatment in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. At the beginning there is a description of history of eating disorders treatment, the dilemmas connected with the need of restricting patients’ rights by introducing behavioural programs, which have led to the decrease of the number of deaths in a group of patients with anorexia, as well as the development of therapeutic programs, from the strictly behavioural to milder and more flexible ones. The authors present their own experiences of almost 20 years of treating eating disorders in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. They describe the establishment and the improvements of the therapy program, which includes behavioural program, pharmacotherapy and broadly meaning psychotherapeutic treatment. They point out the importance of consistent effort taken by the entire therapeutic team (psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and teachers), the need of being strict and absolutely consistent throughout the entire program, and the meaning of patients’ engagement (for example by getting their written agreement and consulting with them the mięplanned changes to the program). The authors talk about the role of cooperating with the patients’ families and present the most common problems appearing during the program like the lack of the expected weight gain, the divergence between the weight gain and the patients’ psychological changes, or treating patients claiming to be vegetarians. Finally the authors also mention attempts to adapt the behavioural programs to the increasing number of uncommon eating disorders cases.
Artykuł jest prezentacją programu leczenia zaburzeń jedzenia w Klinice Psychiatrii Dzieci i Młodzieży IPiN w Warszawie. Na wstępie omówione zostały historia leczenia zaburzeń jedzenia, dylematy związane z koniecznością ograniczania praw pacjentów przy stosowaniu programów behawioralnych, których wprowadzenie doprowadziło do spadku śmiertelności w grupie pacjentek z anoreksją, oraz rozwój programów terapeutycznych od ściśle behawioralnych w kierunku łagodniejszych i bardziej elastycznych. Następnie autorzy przedstawiają własne, kilkunastoletnie doświadczenia w leczeniu zaburzeń jedzenia w Klinice Psychiatrii Dzieci i Młodzieży. Omawiają proces tworzenia i doskonalenia programu terapeutycznego, obejmującego program behawioralny, farmakoterapię i szeroko pojęte oddziaływania psychoterapeutyczne. Wskazują na znaczenie współdziałania całego zespołu terapeutycznego (psychiatrów, psychologów, pielęgniarek i wychowawców), konieczność konsekwencji w realizowaniu programu oraz znaczenie zaangażowania pacjentów w proces leczenia (np. poprzez uzyskiwanie ich pisemnej akceptacji oraz konsultowanie z nimi proponowanych zmian w programie). Omawiane jest znaczenie współpracy z rodzinami pacjentów realizowanej między innymi poprzez systemowe konsultacje rodzinne. Prezentowane są najczęściej pojawiające się problemy w realizacji programu związane np. z brakiem oczekiwanego przyrostu masy ciała, z rozbieżnością między tempem przyrostu masy ciała a zmianami w psychice pacjentek lub z leczeniem pacjentek deklarujących wegetarianizm. Wspomniano również o próbach dostosowania programów behawioralnych do coraz częściej występujących atypowych postaci zaburzeń jedzenia.
