    Tematem artykułu jest stan zasobów architektury mieszkaniowej okresu 1848- 2013 wybranych miast Górnego Śląska w ujęciu przeprowadzonych zmian architektoniczno- budowlanych. Zmiany architektoniczno-budowlane przeprowadzone w badanych zasobach mieszkaniowych są istotnym miernikiem oceny tychże zasobów przez ich użytkowników. Zmiany ujęto w trzy aspekty: techniczny, funkcjonalny i estetyczny. Głównym celem badań jest prezentacja szczegółowej oceny i kompleksowego obrazu stanu zasobów mieszkaniowych wybranych miast Górnego Śląska, opartych o próby statystyczne, liczne analizy rozwiązań przestrzennych w ujęciu ewolucyjnym rozwoju form górnośląskiej architektury mieszkaniowej. Dla większej czytelności i precyzji uzyskanych informacji, przeprowadzana ocena związana jest z bezpośrednią prywatną przestrzenią mieszkania i w ograniczonym stopniu jedynie porusza modernizacje i przekształcenia przestrzeni sąsiedzkiej lub tzw. strefy przydomowej. Zakres czasowy obejmuje lata 1848-2013. Datą otwierającą jest rok 1848. Zakres terytorialny obejmuje współcześnie zdefiniowany obszar siedmiu górnośląskich miast: Gliwic, Zabrza, Bytomia, Raciborza, Rudy Śląskiej, Katowic i Tychów. Praca podejmuje próbę uzyskania odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakim zmianom ulegała substancja badanych zasobów mieszkaniowych? W jakich okresach użytkowania zmiany te były najintensywniejsze lub największe (zarówno w historycznym ujęciu jak i w ujęciu fazy użytkowej.
    The subject of the work is the state of residential architecture resources of the period 1848- 2013 selected cities of Upper Silesia, changes carried out in the architecture and construction. Changes to the architecture and construction carried out in the test is an important evaluation measure of housing resources these resources by their users. The changes are contained in three aspects: technical, functional and aesthetic. The main objective of the work is the presentation of a detailed assessment and comprehensive picture of the state of the housing stock of selected cities in Upper Silesia, based on statistical tests, numerous spatial solutions in terms of the evolutionary development of forms of residential architecture in Upper Silesia. For increased readability and precision of the information received, the assessment is linked to a direct private space and to a limited extent only moves and upgrades to transform neighbourhood space or socalled backyard area. Time covers the period 1848-2013.Opening date is the year 1848. The territorial scope of area-defined today includes seven Silesian cities: Gliwice, Zabrze, Bytom, Racibórz, Ruda Śląska, Katowice and Tychy. The work attempts to answer the question: what were the changes in the substance of the housing stock? In which periods were these changes most intense or largest (both in historical terms and in terms of the use)?

    Opis:
    In the Polish literature of the subject granted to the residential architecture the most common is the theme of constructed environment, the problem of new trends both in form and design, most often in the context of the sustainable development. More and more frequent are the works on analyzing and describing the sociological perspective of dwelling. Basing on the long-term international and domestic publications and scientific research the spread and often interdisciplinary, complex works and articles concerning the social phenomena in architecture and its surrounding have recently appeared. Despite the huge in amount and the valuable literature as well as the scientific research being led in the last few years the lack of works presenting the complex condition of the residential stock shaped through centuries, in context of usability and needs of the residents, based on the possibilities and real modernisation activities is significant. The time range of the work covers the period from 1848-2013. The broad framework allows the recognition of the vast majority of the existing residential stock and gives the larger spectrum of evaluation in the spotted transformations. Industry initiated the process of the development of the number of contemporary cities. The work tries to gain the answer for: ● what changes were done to the researched residential stock ● in which period the changes were the most intensive ● in which period the changes were the greatest in the area (both historically and in context of the usability) Author is also interested in the problem of similarity of the changes to the notes and descriptions of other authors concerning the values of durability and time (so the equipment, the interior divisions, installations, facades and constructions). The present article is used for a projection of these changes on the base of distinctive features of these arrangements and the attempt formulated of characteristic archetype in individual temporary sequences determined in examinations

    The subject of the survey carried out in 2013-2014 are changes in Gliwice residential substance in relation to the two fundamental issues: how proceeded transformation of the existing housing stock, which changes has it undergone during operation. The range of changes within the housing illustrates all the positive and negative solutions characteristic for each of the periods. In the selection of research technique decision was made to form the survey. The quantitative data collected during the survey are the basis for building applications and also from grouped and developed characteristics for the surveyed collections. The test results help to identify regularities concerning the scope of the changes made in each period and - indirectly - give evidence to evaluate the built environment in terms of meeting the expectations and needs of the residents. Analysis of the assumptions also draws attention to the life cycles of the apartment, as the original part undergoing transformation during the adaptation, modernization and reconstruction of housing environment to changing needs during operational requirements. The scope of the changes introduced by them within the housing allows to evaluate the accuracy of functional and spatial, technical and technological solutions characteristic of the period in which they developed.
    Przedmiotem badania przeprowadzonego w latach 2013-2014 są zmiany zachodzące w substancji mieszkaniowej Gliwic w odniesieniu do dwu zasadniczych kwestii: jak przebiegała transformacja istniejących zasobów mieszkaniowych, jakim zmianom została ona poddana w czasie eksploatacji. Zakres zmian w obrębie mieszkania ilustruje wszelkie pozytywne i negatywne rozwiązania charakterystyczne dla każdego z badanych okresów. W doborze techniki badawczej zdecydowano się na formę badania ankietowego. Dane ilościowe zebrane podczas badań ankietowych są podstawą do budowania wniosków i tez z pogrupowanych i opracowanych cech charakterystycznych dla badanych zbiorów. Wyniki badań pozwalają wskazać prawidłowości dotyczące zakresu dokonywanych zmian w poszczególnych okresach i – pośrednio - dają przesłanki do oceny środowiska zbudowanego pod kątem spełnienia oczekiwań i potrzeb mieszkańców. Analiza przedstawionych założeń zwraca również uwagę na cykle życia mieszkania, jako elementu pierwotnego ulegającego transformacji podczas adaptacji, modernizacji i przebudowy środowiska mieszkaniowego do zmieniających się w czasie potrzeb użytkowych. Zakres wprowadzonych przez nich zmian w obrębie mieszkania pozwala ocenić trafność rozwiązań funkcjonalno-przestrzennych, technicznych i technologicznych, charakterystycznych dla okresu, w którym powstały.

    W naszym kraju problem "blokowisk" istnieje realnie. Nie w pełni funkcjonalne środowisko mieszkaniowe tego rodzaju zabudowy stanowi pokaźny procent zasobów mieszkaniowych Polski. Jaki jest powód, że wszelkie działania modernizacyjne zostały pozostawione mieszkańcom tych osiedli reprezentowanych przez spółdzielnie mieszkaniowe lub wspólnoty mieszkaniowe. Konsekwencją tego faktu jest to, że działania modernizacyjne mają charakter doraźny i polegają głównie na poprawie parametrów izolacyjności cieplnej budynków, remontach zaniedbanych elementów budynku, organizowaniu dodatkowych miejsc parkingowych, próbach porządkowania terenu wokół budynków.
    In Poland the problem posed by large estates of apartment blocks is a real one. The imperfectly functional residential environment created by buildings of this type accounts for a significant percentage of Poland's housing stock. Modernization tasks have been left to the residents of these estates, represented by housing cooperatives or housing associations. A consequence of this is that modernization activity takes places on an ad hoc basis, mainly involving improving the thermal insulation parameters of the buildings, repairing dilapidated elements of buildings, creating additional parking spaces, and attempting to organize the areas surrounding the buildings.
