Opis:
The article presents the role of care in pedagogy and in the education of educators. The care is understood as the activity where a carer replaces a person (who, for some reason, cannot do it themselves) in their actions and life functions which enable them to live, let them stay healthy and contribute to their development. The considerations undertaken in the text lead to the conclusion about the continuous expansion of pedagogy tasks related to the issues connected with care. This expansion of the tasks is primarily due to the growing number of people who, for various reasons, require care. It also results from rapidly changing living conditions in the postmodernist world and the increasing risk of the occurrence of various forms of inadaptability. The article emphasises the interdisciplinary character of care pedagogy, showing its relationship with other subdisciplines of pedagogy as well as with human and social sciences.
Artykuł przedstawia miejsce, jakie w pedagogice a także kształceniu pedagogów, zajmuje opieka, rozumiana jako działalność, w której opiekun zastępuje osobę (która z jakiegoś powodu sama uczynić tego nie może) w tych jej działaniach i funkcjach życiowych, które umożliwiają jej życie, pozwalają zachować zdrowie i przyczyniają się do rozwoju. Rozważania podjęte w tekście, prowadzą do wniosku o nieustannym rozszerzaniu się zadań pedagogiki, odnoszących się do zagadnień związanych z opieką. To rozszerzanie się zadań wynika przede wszystkim ze wzrastającej liczby osób, które z różnych powodów wymagają opieki, jak również będącego skutkiem zmieniających się w szybkim tempie warunków życia w postmodernistycznym świecie, zwiększenia zagrożenia występowaniem różnych form nieprzystosowania. Artykuł podkreśla interdyscyplinarny charakter pedagogiki opiekuńczej, ukazując jej związki z innymi subdyscyplinami pedagogiki, jak również z innymi naukami: społecznymi, humanistycznymi i społecznymi.

This aim of this article is to present the research process using the action research method in the project titled “Development  of  the  empowerment  of  educators  and  beneficiaries  in  the  field  of  youth  at  risk  and  social exclusion” implemented within the Erasmus Plus programme in which the author of this article participated. The process of operationalisation of the social exclusion category and the characteristics of the methodology of action research were performed in this article. The project objectives were set out and the team appointed to carry out the research on the issue of the development of the empowerment of educators and beneficiaries working with adults at risk of social exclusion was described. The article subjects the research process implemented by the team of investigators to analysis and identifies the turning points in this process. Conclusions concerning the specificity and usefulness of action research in searching for social practice solutions in the field of social exclusion have also been provided on the basis of practical experience.

„Problemy Opiekuńczo-Wychowawcze” w sposób szczególny odzwierciedlają kształtowanie się tożsamości pedagogiki opiekuńczej jako nauki, metodyk szczegółowych, a także pedeutologii w obszarze kształcenia w szkołach wyższych kadr do praktyki opiekuńczo-wychowawczej. Tekst jest studium publikowanych w „POW” artykułów, którego celem jest wskazanie dokonujących się przemian na przestrzeni 60 lat istnienia czasopisma. Wybiórcze ich rozwinięcie opracowane zostanie z perspektywy pracownika badawczo-dydaktycznego biorącego udział w kształceniu wyższym od 1982 roku, zaangażowanego także w metodykę i praktykę opiekuńczo-wychowawczą oraz analizującego ich historyczne źródła. Przywołane zostaną także wybrane publikacje naukowe ukazujące rozwój pedagogiki opiekuńczej oraz przemiany przedmiotu jej zainteresowań poznawczych. Wyodrębniono następujące tendencje zmian 1) od czasopisma popularnonaukowego do naukowego, 2) od zainteresowania się praktyką, metodyką i wiedzą z zakresu pedagogiki społecznej, opiekuńczo-wychowawczej do charakteru interdyscyplinarnego i międzynarodowego, 3) zmiany w wyróżnianych działach czasopisma odzwierciedleniem rozwoju i oczekiwanych zmian, 4) zmiany państwa, w którym realizowane są zadania naukowe, metodyczne i praktyczne w opiece i wychowaniu, 5) zmiany przedmiotu zainteresowań pedagogiki opiekuńczej, 6) od analizy działalności opiekuńczo-wychowawczej i budowania subdyscypliny: pedagogiki opiekuńczej do analizy związków między różnymi rodzajami działalności pedagogicznej w aspektach opiekuńczych i związków między naukami oraz rozwoju subdyscyplin, 7) od organizowania wąskich tematycznie seminariów i konferencji do licznych i interdyscyplinarnych, wielowątkowo analizujących zagadnienia opiekuńczo-wychowawcze, 8) zmiany w kształceniu kadr do pracy opiekuńczo-wychowawczej, edukacyjnej, pedagogicznej.
The “Issues in Childhood Care and Education” journal in a special way reflects formation of the identity of care pedagogy as a science, detailed methodologies as well as pedeutology in the field of educating staff for care and educational practice in higher education. The text is a study of articles published in the “Issues in Childhood Care and Education” journal, the aim of which is to indicate the changes over the 60 years of the journal's existence. Their selective development will be elaborated from the perspective of a research and didactic worker involved in higher education since 1982, who is also involved in the methodology as well as care and educational practice and analyses their historical sources. Selected scientific publications showing the development of care pedagogy and changes in the subject of its cognitive interest will also be presented. The following trends of changes were distinguished: 1) from a popular science journal to a scientific one, 2) from an interest in practice, methodology and knowledge in the field of social, care and educational pedagogy to an interdisciplinary and international character, 3) changes in the distinguished sections of the journal as a reflection of the development and expected changes, 4) changes in the country in which scientific, methodological and practical tasks in care and education are carried out, 5) changes in the subject of interest of care pedagogy, 6) from the analysis of care and educational activities and building subdiscipline: from care pedagogy to the analysis of relationships between various types of pedagogical activities in the caring aspects and relationships between the sciences and the development of subdisciplines, 7) from organizing thematically narrow seminars and conferences to numerous and interdisciplinary ones analysing care and educational issues in a multi-threaded way, 8) changes in the education of staff for care and educational, teaching, pedagogical work.

Opis:
Caring for children deprived of parental care is one of the oldest responsibilities of the community towards their weakest representatives. Over the ages it was the abandoned and orphaned children who were first placed in the aid. For the centuries its forms were also developed and improved. Supposedly the oldest of them had the character of  spontaneous individual or social initiatives, yet unorganized, often occasional, caused by human empathy or heart reflexes, sometimes bearing a mark of  biological rescue. Above all, it concerns alimentation and shelter. Further forms were associated with charitable activity of the Catholic Church and other organizations, most often of religious nature, that took over the responsibility for the most needy. It seemed common to them to understand care as a social activity of charitable and self-help nature. Help for children was mostly linked to philanthropic or educational activities. However, the fundamentals of properly understood systemic care over the youngest in Poland can only be traced after the First World War. The following article  is an exemplification of the activities of the oldest organizations and institutions in Piotrków Trybunalski, a city of  rich philanthropic tradition, directed to its youngest inhabitants. It is also an attestation to the words of Henryk Sienkiewicz said   about  Polska Macierz Szkolna in a year 1905 that "the sacrifice of the Polish society is simply inexhaustible. Many can be imputed to our national character and we are aware of our faults and shortcomings but when it comes to sacrificing a penny for public affairs few nations surpass us and even foreigners do justice to us in this respect". One may think these words have not lost their relevance today.
Troska o dzieci pozbawione opieki rodzicielskiej jest jednym z najstarszych obowiązków społeczności wobec swych najsłabszych przedstawicieli. Na przestrzeni wieków to do dzieci opuszczonych i sierocych w pierwszej kolejności kierowano działania pomocowe. Od wieków również rozwijano i doskonalono formy niesionej pomocy. Bodaj najstarsze z nich miały charakter samorzutnych inicjatyw indywidualnych bądź społecznych, jeszcze niezorganizowanych, często okazjonalnych, powodowanych ludzką empatią, niekiedy noszących znamiona biologicznego ratownictwa. Mowa tu przede wszystkim o akcjach dożywiania lub zapewnienia schronienia. Kolejne formy były związane z dobroczynną działalnością Kościoła katolickiego oraz innych organizacji najczęściej o charakterze wyznaniowym, które przejęły odpowiedzialność za najbardziej potrzebujących. Wspólne dla nich zdawało się rozumienie opieki jako aktywności społecznej o charakterze dobroczynnym i samopomocowym. Pomoc dzieciom przeważnie łączono z działalnością filantropijną bądź oświatowo-wychowawczą. Jednakże podwalin właściwie pojmowanej opieki systemowej nad najmłodszymi w Polsce możemy odnaleźć dopiero po I wojnie światowej. Niniejszy artykuł jest egzemplifikacją działalności istniejących w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim – mieście o bogatej tradycji filantropijnej – najstarszych organizacji i instytucji kierujących swą pomoc do najmłodszych mieszkańców. Jest zarazem poświadczaniem słów Henryka Sienkiewicza wypowiedzianych w sprawie Macierzy Szkolnej z 1905 roku, że „[…] ofiarność polskiego społeczeństwa jest wprost niewyczerpana. Wielu przyganom może podlegać nasz narodowy charakter i sami zdajemy sobie sprawę z naszych wad i braków, gdy chodzi jednak o poświęcenie grosza dla sprawy publicznej, mało narodów nas przewyższa, a i nawet cudzoziemcy oddają nam pod tym względem sprawiedliwość”. Można sądzić, że współcześnie słowa te nie straciły aktualności.

I o tych właśnie postulatach i warunkach ich realizacji jest niniejszy artykuł.
The Korczak’s pedagogy is usually reduced to issues related to the subjective treatment of a child by adults, the rights due to the child, personality of the educator and teacher. However the Korczak’s pedagogy touches upon many other important issues as well, for example care and educational postulates implemented in the process of raising a child and suitable conditions for doing so, that is, the constant presence of the parent next to the child at different stages of his and her child’s development. And that is what this article is about.

The COVID-19 pandemic shook the educational system to the core. Teaching moved from the classroom to the private space of teachers and students. The unexpected move to digital teaching and learning rendered “in-person” interaction impossible, forcing all of us working in education to reconsider what responsible pedagogy should look like during a crisis. In this article, we first elaborate the main ideas of the pedagogy of care. Then, we offer examples of teaching and learning during the pandemic from our personal experience of literary and language scholars, based in Serbia and Poland respectively. This experience has been shaped by our pedagogical choices and informed by our epistemological and ethical standpoints.
Pandemia COVID-19 wstrząsnęła systemem edukacji do głębi. Nauczanie przeniosło się z klasy do prywatnej przestrzeni nauczycieli i uczniów. Nieoczekiwane przejście na cyfrowe nauczanie i uczenie się uniemożliwiło „osobistą” interakcję, zmuszając nas wszystkich pracujących w edukacji do ponownego przemyślenia, jak powinna wyglądać odpowiedzialna pedagogika w czasie kryzysu. W prezentowanym artykule najpierw omawiamy główne idee pedagogiki troski. Następnie przedstawiamy przykłady nauczania i uczenia się podczas pandemii płynące z naszych osobistych doświadczeń literaturoznawców i filologów z Serbii i z Polski. To doświadczenie zostało ukształtowane przez nasze pedagogiczne wybory i wsparte naszymi epistemologicznymi i etycznymi punktami widzenia.

Analizą objęto następujące tematy: ideologia socjalistyczna i ideały wychowania, hasło/program „o jednolity front” wychowania, edukacji i opieki w socjalizmie, a także problemy: pedagogika opiekuńczo-wychowawcza, działalność instytucji pedagogicznych, projekt „zamknijmy domy dziecka”, wychowanie i szkoła, doskonalenie opieki nad dzieckiem.
The article presents the selected issues discussed in the articles published in Polish journal entitled “Issues in Childhood Care and Education” in the years 1961–2021. The analysis included: the socialist ideology and upbringing ideals, the slogan/program “for united front” of upbringing, education and care in socialism, as well as the following problems: care and educational pedagogy, activities of pedagogical institutions, the “let's close orphanages” program, upbringing and school, improving childcare.

The following article is about how and when ethnicity is of significance in elderly care. Below I analyze examples of how staff perceive each other and each other’s work. The importance of a phenomenon is primarily related to the linguistic expression of meaning. In this case the focus is on the meaning of ethnicity, which also includes the importance of actions, activities, behaviors and non-linguistic symbols, etc.

This article discusses the relationship between social pedagogy, social policy and the system of social care and assistance. The concept of “social care and assistance” can be understood very broadly. This is not just about direct help and care in the form of social work, social care homes, etc., but about all forms of support provided by the state, starting with different types of activation in the problem of poverty and marginalization, through addressing the problems associated with addictions, organizing help for sick or elderly people. It would not be right to restrict this system to social assistance alone. The so-called social care system is an area of practical activity that is geared towards inducing certain social changes.

The text focuses on the definition of substitute family care and its basic forms that are applied and used in the Czech Republic. The historical progression of substitute family care is also mentioned to demonstrate that this issue is a part of human society. An integral part of the text is the statistical information. Furthermore, the purpose of the text is to point out the need for experts and professionals who are engaged with this problem and are working with this targeted group. Last but not least is the need for reflection on those changes that had to be made because of the change in attitudes concerning substitute family care.

Opis:
Aim. This article aims to summarize the current state of understanding on a development of a caring teacher-student relationship in higher education context, grounded in relational pedagogy. Also, it provides critical reflection on the data from available literature. Methods. The development of a caring teacher-student relationship was presented using the method of description, based on the review of relevant literature. Results. The development of a caring relationship between students and higher education teachers can be monitored in stages. At first, there is the introductory meeting with the students when a teacher with his personality, authenticity, and approach lays the foundations for the development of a caring relationship. During further meetings, the teacher encourages mutual trust, respect, and appreciation and deepens the relationship by adapting the teaching process to the needs, interests, and affinities of students, until the formal completion of their cooperation. Conclusion. In order to achieve a caring relationship with students in higher education, a teacher needs to approach it consciously, intentionally, thoughtfully and to plan it well from the very beginning. It is crucial to get to know the students as real persons, and accordingly, continuously adapt the teaching process to their needs and interests, allowing them to express themselves freely in a safe, accepting, and encouraging environment. Cognitive value. By presenting the stages of a development of the caring relationship between students and higher education teachers and the synthesis of their characteristics, this paper contributes to a deeper understanding of this phenomenon.
