Opis:
Work among children and teenagers shaped by a vagabond lifestyle and leading a life permanently inscribed in the urban space is carried out by means of streetworking, by well-prepared and trained streetworkers. This type of service may become an interesting subject of reflection, not only due to the relatively fixed values of the work’s ethics, but also to ways, both positive and negative, in which both individual streetworkers and groups of streetworkers experience the undertaken work. The article presents satisfaction determinants associated with work of streetworkers among street children in Poland, being analysed within the category of pedagogical passion understood as accompaniment. This passion, according to what they claim, is directed at the children’s welfare, and it is manifested in three different ways such as: help, presence in the group and, last but not least, intentional character of meetings.
Praca w grupach dzieci i młodzieży zdefiniowanych włóczęgowskim stylem życia i utrwaloną egzystencją w przestrzeni miasta prowadzona jest metodą streetworkingu przez odpowiednio przygotowanych i przeszkolonych streetworkerów. Nie tylko względnie stałe wartości składające się na etykę pracy, ale interesująca jest również refleksja nad sposobem przeżywania pracy przez jednostki i grupy, który może być pozytywny lub negatywny. Artykuł ma na celu prezentację determinantów satysfakcji z pracy streetworkerów wśród dzieci ulicy w Polsce analizowanych w kategorii pasji pedagogicznej rozumianej jako towarzyszenie. W narracjach badanych streetworkerów jest to pasja dla dobra dzieci ulicy prezentowana w trzech formach: pomoc, obecność w środowisku oraz intencjonalność spotkania.

This article addresses the issue of the competence of counsellors working with people experiencing sexual violence. The theoretical part of the article describes the basic concepts related to institutional (professional) counselling and describes a professional counsellor and his/her competences in a descriptive way. The subject of the research includes the competences of counsellors in the field of working with people who have experienced sexual violence. The purpose of the study was determining and describing their competences – both organizational and professional ones – from the perspective of the experience of individual listeners preparing for counselling work. The study uses a narrative method with content analysis. The research problem took the form of the following question: what are the competences of a counsellor in accompanying a sexually abused person from the perspective of the personal experience of future counsellors? The research was conducted in 2019 among 23 postgraduate students preparing for counselling work. The results made it possible to select subcategories within the examined categories that show the specificity and value of the competences described by the respondents, and allowed us to emphasize the importance of the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills of counsellors. In addition, the conclusions of the study are valuable for pedagogical practice, especially in terms of enriching the offer of studies addressed to counsellors working with people who have experienced sexual violence.

Street children worldwide and in Poland face many problems. One of them is educational exclusion which marginalizes this group of children and adolescents in the area of education. The aim of the article is to analyze factors conducive to this particular form of social exclusion. Street workers from Kraków who took part in the study listed three following problem areas in this respect: 1) dysfunctionality of school (teachers’ lack of knowledge about students who fall into the category of street children, their focusing on the curriculum without paying attention to weak students and disregarding the principle of approachability in teaching), 2) teachers - street children relations (stigmatization of students from dysfunctional families, overuse of failing grades, ridiculing and humiliating), and 3) peers - street children relations (violence, quarrels, conflicts).
Dzieci ulicy na świecie i w Polsce doświadczają wielu problemów. Jednym z nich jest wykluczenie edukacyjne, które marginalizuje tę grupę dzieci i młodzieży w obszarze edukacji. Celem naszego artykułu jest analiza czynników składających się na ten rodzaj wykluczenia społecznego. Streetworkerzy z Krakowa wśród których przeprowadzono badania w swoich opiniach wyszczególnili trzy obszary: 1) dysfunkcjonalność szkoły (brak wiedzy o uczniach-dzieciach ulicy, realizacja programu nauczania z pominięciem słabszego ucznia, zaniedbywanie zasady przystępności w nauczaniu); 2) relacja nauczyciel-dzieci ulicy (stygmatyzacja uczniów z rodzin dysfunkcyjnych, nieuzasadnione stawianie ocen niedostatecznych, wyśmiewanie i poniżanie) oraz 3) relacja rówieśnicy-dzieci ulicy (przemoc, kłótnie, konflikty rówieśnicze).

W artykule podjęto problematykę umiejętności pomagania, jakie powinien posiadać nauczyciel-pedagog pracujący z dzieckiem wykorzystywanym seksualnie. W części teoretycznej artykułu zostały zdefiniowane umiejętności pomagania istotne dla procesu rozumienia trudnej sytuacji dziecka oraz dokonano deskrypcyjnego ujęcia ich podstawowych rodzajów. Przedmiotem badań uczyniono umiejętności pomagania nauczyciela-pedagoga w zakresie pracy z osobami, które doświadczyły przemocy seksualnej, zaś celem określenie i opis umiejętności profesjonalnych nauczyciela-pedagoga – wzmacniających opowiedzenie historii przez dziecko oraz wyciszenie emocji towarzyszących opowiadanej historii. W badaniach posłużono się metodą narracyjną z wykorzystaniem analizy treści. Problem badawczy przyjął postać pytania: Co stanowi komponenty umiejętności nauczycieli-pedagogów w zakresie pomagania dziecku wykorzystywanemu seksualnie? Badania przeprowadzono w 2019 r. wśród 23 słuchaczy studiów podyplomowych, przygotowujących się do pracy poradniczej. Uzyskane wyniki badań pozwoliły na wyłonienie w ramach badanych kategorii subkategorie unaoczniające specyfikę i wartość opisywanych przez badanych umiejętności pomagania oraz wyodrębnienie komponentów decydujących o skutecznym pomaganiu, udzielaniu wsparcia przez nauczycieli-pedagogów dziecku doświadczającemu przemocy seksualnej. Ponadto, wnioski z badań są wartościowe dla praktyki pedagogicznej, szczególnie w zakresie wzbogacania oferty kształcenia do zawodu nauczyciela oraz pedagoga w odniesieniu do działań wspierających osoby z doświadczeniami przemocy.
The article deals with the issue of helping skills that a teacher and pedagogue should have when working with a sexually abused child. The theoretical part of the article defines helping skills essential for the process of understanding a child's difficult situation and their basic types were described. The subject of the research was the helping skills of a teacher and pedagogue in working with people who experienced sexual violence. The purpose of the study was to determine and describe the professional skills of a teacher and pedagogue ‒ strengthening the storytelling by the child and calming the emotions accompanying the story. The study used the narrative method with the use of content analysis. The research problem took the form of the question: What are the components of a teacher and pedagogue skills in helping a sexually abused child? The research was conducted in 2019 among 23 postgraduate students preparing for counselling work. The obtained research results allowed for the selection of subcategories within the studied categories that visualize the specificity and value of the helping skills described by the respondents, and for the identification of components that determine effective help and support by teachers and pedagogues for a child experiencing sexual violence. In addition, the conclusions from the research are valuable for pedagogical practice, especially in the field of enriching the educational offer for the teaching and pedagogical profession with regard to activities supporting people experiencing violence.

The phenomenon of street children in Poland is not widely discussed in scholarly publications, and the research into the causes of the problem has a marginal place in the subject literature. The presentation of the results of our analysis focuses on four factors: family structure, socio-psychological bonds, deviant behaviours, poverty and unemployment. This article seeks to analyse the immediate reasons for children leaving for the streets as indicated by street workers – the research participants. We would like to answer the question as to whether in the process of becoming a street child in Poland there exist some familyspecific predictors which could not be found in maladjusted children and adolescents who are not described as street children. In order to achieve this aim, we have first defined the concept of street children in the context of family dysfunction, as it is accepted in the subject literature.

W artykule podjęto problematykę użyteczności kategorii nadziei w sytuacji wychowawczej dziecka wykorzystywanego seksualnie. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono perspektywę rozumienia nadziei w relacji wychowawca – wychowanek. Od nadziei człowieka zależy jego przyszłość, sposób przeżywania teraźniejszości oraz sens i rozmiar przestrzeni, w której żyje. Nadzieja, jaką niesie osoba wychowawcy, jest ważna z perspektywy rozwoju psychospołecznego zakłóconego traumatycznym doświadczeniem. Odbudowanie zaufania, relacji, jest istotą nadziei. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wyłonienie znaczących determinant nadziei określających pracę wychowawcy z dzieckiem, ofiarą przemocy seksualnej, a także ich opis w doświadczeniu uczestników badań. W badaniach posłużono się metodą narracyjną z wykorzystaniem analizy treści. Problem badawczy przyjął postać pytania: Jakie są podstawowe determinanty kategorii nadziei w narracjach słuchaczy studiów podyplomowych przygotowujących się do pracy z dzieckiem krzywdzonym? Badania przeprowadzono w 2019 r. w grupie 23 respondentów. Uzyskane wyniki badań pozwoliły na wyłonienie w ramach badanych kategorii subkategorii unaoczniających specyfikę i wartość opisywanych przez badanych doświadczeń. Ponadto wnioski z badań są wartościowe dla praktyki pedagogicznej, szczególnie w zakresie wzbogacania oferty kształcenia do zawodu nauczyciela i pedagoga w odniesieniu do działań diagnostycznych, interwencyjnych i wspierających osoby z doświadczeniami przemocy.
The article deals with the issue of the usefulness of the category of hope in the educational situation of a sexually abused child. The theoretical part presents the perspective of understanding hope in the educator-foster relationship. The future, the way of experiencing the present, and the meaning and size of the space in which person lives depend on his hope. The hope that the educator brings is important from the perspective of psychosocial development, disturbed by a traumatic experience. Rebuilding trust and relationships is the essence of hope. The purpose of this article is to identify significant determinants of hope defining the work of an educator with a child, a victim of sexual violence, and their description in the experience of study participants. The study used the narrative method using content analysis. The research problem took the form of the question: What are the basic determinants of the category of hope in the narratives of post-graduate students preparing to work with an abused child? The research was conducted in 2019 among 23 respondents. Obtained research results allowed to select subcategories within the examined categories, showing the specificity and value of the experiments described by the researched. In addition, the conclusions of the study are valuable for pedagogical practice, especially in the scope of enriching the educational offer for the teaching profession and teacher in relation to diagnostic, intervention and support activities for people with experience of violence.

Zjawisko dzieci ulicy na świecie jest skutkiem zmian strukturalnych i kulturowych związanych z ponowoczesnością. Tym samym oznacza niekorzystny stan dla społeczności, w jakich występuje, i jest oceniany jako niepożądany, zagrażający, niebezpieczny i konieczny do zminimalizowania lub wyeliminowania problem. Afryka jest trzecim kontynentem, po Ameryce Południowej i Azji, co do skali występowania problemu dzieci i młodzieży przebywających na ulicy lub żyjących tam w warunkach uwłaczających godności osoby. Różne podmioty społeczne i kościelne włączają się w proces resocjalizacji i readaptacji społecznej dzieci ulicy. Prężnie działającym podmiotem są salezjanie. Dlatego w naszym artykule pochylamy się nad wielkim zaangażowaniem na tym polu salezjanów, a tym samym składamy im hołd za często heroiczną pracę, która w myśl pedagogii św. Jana Bosko polega na szukaniu dobra w dzieciach ulicy. Celem naszego artykułu jest ukazanie działalności pedagogicznej salezjanów w wybranych krajach Afryki, którzy realizują liczne programy i projekty w środowisku lokalnym na rzecz dzieci ulicy. Ich działalność przebiega dwutorowo: bezpośrednio na ulicy (metoda streetworking) i w ośrodkach specjalnie wybudowanych dla dzieci i młodzieży z ulicy.
The existence of street children is a result of structural and cultural changes related to postmodernity. It can be identified as a disadvantageous state within the society in which it occurs, and is perceived as an undesirable, threatening, dangerous problem, which must be reduced or eradicated. Africa is the third continent, after South America and Asia, with the highest number of children and youth spending time or living in the streets in conditions violating the dignity of a human person. Different social and church institutions are involved in the process of resocialization and social re-adaptation of street children. A group which acts very actively in this field are the Salesians. Because of this, in this article we focus on their great involvement, and pay tribute to their oftentimes heroic work, which in line with St. John Bosco's educational system aims at looking for good in all street children. The aim of our article is to show pedagogical activity of Salesians in the chosen countries of Africa, through different programmes and projects in local environments developed for the good of street children. The activity is performed in two ways: directly on the street (streetworking method), and in centres built specially for street children and youths.
