Opis:: The stable EPR signal produced by ionizing radiation in crystalline D-mannose (C6H12O6) and separated from cranberries (Vaccinium oxycoccus) was studied. The isothermal heating of irradiated sample at 95°C for 10 minutes (melting point of D-mannose is 132°C) resulted in the modifi cation and simplifi cation of the EPR signal involved. The isotropic quartet has been recognized in the EPR signal of heat-treated sample. Molecular structure of the isotropic quartet identifi ed in the complex EPR signal of D-mannose crystallite is proposed.

Opis:: The studied collecting electrodes for electrostatic precipitators are cold-rolled formed. Here Sigma 750 open section was manufactured of DC01 steel grade. Length of the electrodes ranged from 8 to 13 meters, all were thin-walled of 1.5 mm. Tolerance of their manufacture is strictly set. A database of material properties, chemical composition, and a set of final tolerance of manufactured profiles has been collected. At first basic statistics for the data has been done. Finally statistical relation between the material composition and profile geometrical tolerance has been studied, next between the material mechanical properties and profile geometrical tolerance has been examined.

Opis:: Objectives: Religiosity may serve as a personal source of support when people face a life-threatening illness, but it can also elicit stress. The main aim of this study is to show how various religious dimensions interplay in predicting death anxiety in patients diagnosed as having cancer. Material and Methods: In the cross‐sectional, descriptive‐analytical research, 141 Polish patients who were hospitalized due to cancer were selected using sequential convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Centrality of Religiosity Scale, Religious Comfort and Strain Scale, and the Death Anxiety and Dying Distress Scale. Results: The authors’ results show that the effect of the centrality of religiosity on death anxiety is non-linear. The authors can also confirm the mediating role of religious comfort and struggles in the relationship between the centrality of religiosity and death anxiety. Conclusions: Thus, religious struggles appear to weaken the effect of religion on death anxiety, whereas religious comfort (contrary to expectation) does not enhance it.
