pH value
Opis:
A laboratory simulation of acid rain was performed in which soil monoliths from the Wielkopolski National Park area were sprinkled with water solutions of sulphuric acid of pH 3.0 or 2.0, and for reference with distilled water of pH 5.6. The form and amount of the washed out aluminium as well as changes in the chemical properties of the soil studied were determined. The process of aluminium release proved particularly dangerous for acidic or slightly acidic soils which cover a large part of the National Park area.

Opis:
Investigated the microbial transformation of organic matter in the typical black soil under the influence of different types of processing. Found that soil protection technology inhibits the mobilization processуі, as evidenced by reduced mineralization coefficients, improve and optimize the ratio of structural categories of micropores in 0–30 cm layer of chernozem, thereby reducing the rate of evaporation of soil moisture by 25–30%. Stage of moisture in the soil with minimum soil moisture corresponds to the flow in the capillary, due to the enhancement of mass transfer in the system of solid phase – soil moisture, soil air. When easily-movable moisture condition occurs stationary convective motion of the flow of matter – is self-organization of mass transfer, which may be increased by 150–200%.

Opis:
The level of soil acidity (рН) has the significant impact on availability of potassium to plants. For almost the century, scientists have discussed the issue of acidity of soils. Till nowadays, it is known, that carriers of potential acidity are Н⁺ and АІ³⁺ ions, which are situated in the solid phase of soil in the exchanged and absorbed state, but soil solution is acidified as a result of exchange reactions during increase of concentration of electrolytes in it (for example, during application of fertilizes the soil). Our task was to explore the impact of acidity of soil solution on the movement of potassium in some soils of forest-steppes of Ukraine: typical chernozem, podzolized chernozem and meadow chernozem. In the laboratory conditions the soil samples were influenced by citrate-phosphate-borate buffer solution of different volumes of рН – from 2.8 till 9.5 units, and the potassium content was determined by flame photometry. Based on the research results, there were created mathematical models which predict the potassium content when changing soil acidity. An exponential functional relationship between potassium content in the soil solution and its pH is established. This functional dependence allows to predict the levels of transition of potassium to the soil solution in the conditions of lowering the pH.
