The article is devoted to specific characteristics and particularities of pig healing practice in Belarusian folk veterinary system. An attention is also paid to nonverbal and verbal efforts to look after swine health. Main themes and motifs of pronouncing incantatory words concerning this thematic group are defined. A set of data makes it possible to identify regional characteristics of veterinary practice of swine treatment in Belarus.

The article analyzes salient aspects of Guzel Yakhina’s novel Zuleikha (Zuleikha opens her eyes) and its critical reception. First of all, the author discusses the connections of the artistic world of the novel with the Russian literary tradition with respect to the image of “the natural man”. Particular attention is paid to the treatment of the “eternal themes” of love, motherhood, faith, the formation of personality as well as to the originality with which the author approaches the topic of the mass repression of the 1930s. The predominating opinions of critics and reviewers are interpreted, and an attempt is made to indicate the reasons for the novel’s popularity with the readers.
В статье анализируются значимые аспекты романа Г. Яхиной Зулейха открывает глаза и его восприятие критикой. В частности, рассматриваются связи художественного мира романа с традициями русской литературы в изображении «естественного человека», особенности звучания вечных тем любви, материнства, веры, становления личности, своеобразие раскрытия темы репрессий 1930-х годов. Осмыслены основные тенденции суждений критиков и рецензентов, сделана попытка объяснить причины успеха романа у читателей.

Większość współczesnych studiów nad migracją w Europie (i nie tylko) wskazuje czynniki ekonomiczne jako podstawowe motywy wyjazdów z rodzinnego kraju. Tymczasem szczegółowa analiza autobiograficznych wywiadów narracyjnych z osobami, które zdecydowały się zamieszkać zagranicą pokazuje, że bardzo często pierwszorzędne znaczenie mają zupełnie inne powody. Nie unieważniając całkowicie czynnika ekonomicznego, warto zatem zwrócić uwagę na jedną z bardzo interesujących i wcale nierzadką przyczynę mobilności, jaką jest „ucieczka”, której różne modalności można umieścić na kontinuum między „ucieczką od” a „ucieczką do”. Choć oba przypadki zostaną omówione w tym artykule, temu drugiemu poświęcone będzie więcej miejsca. Motyw ten związany jest z próbą jednostki podejmowaną w celu wydostania się z warunków (panujących w domu, w środowisku, okolicy, kraju), które definiowane są przez nią jako duszące, tłamszące, niepozwalające rozwinąć skrzydeł czy w pełni wyrazić siebie. Co jednak ciekawe, doświadczenie „inności” i poznanie odmiennych wzorów kulturowych w innym kraju może zainicjować proces „repatriotyzacji” – nowego, „obiektywnego” spojrzenia na miejsce swojego pochodzenia i docenienie jego (wcześniej negowanej) wartości
Most modern studies on migration in Europe (and not only) indicates economic factors as the primary emigration motives. Meanwhile, a detailed analysis of autobiographical narrative interviews with people who have chosen to live abroad shows that very often important priorities are completely different. Not completely invalidating the economic factor, we should therefore pay attention to one of the very interesting and not uncommon cause of mobility, which is the “escape”, where different modalities can be placed on a continuum between “escape from” and “escape to”. Although those two cases are discussed in this article, to the second one will be devoted special attention. This motif is associated with an attempt to escape from the conditions (prevailing at home, in the environment, neighborhood, country), which are defined by individual as suffocating, stifling, not allowing to spread wings and fully express oneself. Interestingly, the experience of “otherness” and getting to know different cultural patterns in another country may initiate the process of “re-patriotisation” – a new “objective” perspective on the place of origin and appreciation of its (previously denied) values.

The process of adaptation to professional career remains an important issue, especially in the domain of professional consultancy. This article aims at the analysis of the relationships between the occupational themes, the ambiguity tolerance level in career decisions and the style of coping with career decision-making difficulties. The study covered 227 students. The participants were assigned occupational themes according to the results obtained from a Multifaceted Occupational Preferences Assessment questionnaire. They have been analysed for the diversity in terms of ambiguity tolerance in career decision-making (Career Decisions Ambiguity Tolerance questionnaire) and the styles of coping with difficulties in career decisions (Coping with Career Decisionmaking Difficulties questionnaire). It has been established that sex is not related to the aforesaid personality dispositions. Persons with the social occupational theme seek social support more often than persons categorised as other types; the artistic theme is most closely connected with the unproductive coping style, while persons categorised as enterprising exhibit the opposite tendency. Furthermore, a correlation between the ambiguity tolerance and the productive coping style in career decisions has been noted.

The issue concerns writing the history of Polish literary studies. The core of the author’s proposition is to configure a corpus of texts regarded as theoretical around the so-called cultural themes. One instance of such a theme is reference. There is a compulsory starting point for reconstructing this theme that is so important for Polish scholarly culture: the concept of quasi-judgements. The article presents a redefinition of world renown Ingarden’s idea stressing its semantics roots, and giving the strong evidences for pragmatic foundations for differentiating the discursive field in his philosophy of literature.

The aim of this article is to analyze memes about social isolation introduced in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic. The author’s contact with memes during the first weeks of the pandemic (March–April) was initially motivated only by the desire to fill leisure time in such strange circumstances as the time of quarantine. With time, the observation began to take on a more systematic character, and the images found on the web became an interesting research material illustrating strategies undertaken to normalize and familiarize people with forced isolation and imposed social distancing, measures previously unknown in society on such a large scale. The material thus collected was analyzed using the fantasy themes analysis (FTA) method.
Celem artykułu jest analiza memów dotyczących kwarantanny wprowadzonej w pierwszych dniach po ogłoszeniu pandemii COVID-19 w Polsce. Kontakt z memami w trakcie pierwszych tygodni pandemii (marzec–kwiecień) początkowo był motywowany jedynie chęcią zapełnienia wolnego czasu w tak dziwnych okolicznościach jak czas kwarantanny. Z czasem obserwacja zaczęła przyjmować bardziej usystematyzowany charakter, a znalezione w sieci obrazy stały się interesującym materiałem badawczym ilustrującym aktywności podejmowane w celu normalizacji i oswojenia nieznanej społeczeństwu wcześniej na tak szeroką skalę sytuacji przymusowej kwarantanny. Zebrany materiał został przeanalizowany przy wykorzystaniu metody analizy tematów fantazji (FTA).

The article presents an overview and analysis of a research study of the repertoire of Polish religious songs after 1945. The article aims to present how the religious values of sacrum and sanctum are realized in them through the medium of linguistic and musical means of expression. The author also examines the categories of religious poetry as proposed by Maria Jasińska-Wojtkowska, and considers religious songs as multi-faceted acts of auto- and social communication. A phenomenological perspective adopted by the songs encourages holiness and acts of goodness through the pursuit of God – the supreme value. The article is an original text. Its goal is to demonstrate how the religious values of sacrum and sanctum are realized through the medium of linguistic and musical means of expression in Polish religious songs created after 1945. The author considers religious songs as multi-faceted acts of auto- and social communication. The methods employed by the author are analysis of song lyrics, as well as analysis of selected aspects of the musical component of the songs. The main results are as follows: the analyses reveal that the lyrics of the religious songs are imbued with the values of sacrum and sanctum, expressed through the choice of topics, the words and phrases used, and a type of poetics specific for sacrum. As a consequence, the songs provide vessels for religious values. Moreover, the structures of the songs are such that they include, as their inherent components, the author and the addressee of the values of sacrum and sanctum. The results of the analyses may be employed further as a basis for continued research, in particular in the following areas: reception of religious songs; practical applications of the reception of religious songs, both in pedagogical work and in the context of child education and socialization, especially in terms of religious upbringing and education. The songs encourage holiness and acts of goodness through the pursuit of God, the supreme value. The article also explores the social impact religious songs have on an individual’s attitude to the world and interaction with the religious community. The article’s original contribution consists mainly in the research perspective it applies to the analyses of the research material, i.e. the author’s hermeneutic and phenomenological approach. Moreover, the article’s strong point lies in its comprehensive treatment of songs as both literary and musical works.

Prezentowany tekst jest rodzajem artykułu oryginalnego. Celem jest ukazanie wartości sacrum i sanctum kreowanych w polskich pieśniach religijnych powstałych po 1945 roku. Autorka w trakcie badań posłużyła się przede wszystkim analizą tekstu słownego pieśni, ale również wzięła pod uwagę elementy dzieła muzycznego. Główne wyniki analiz ujawniły wpisane w teksty repertuaru pieśniowego wartości sacrum i sanctum, które przejawiają się poprzez tematykę, używane zwroty, specyficznej poetyce sacrum i wynikającym z niej sakralnym charakterze pieśni będących nośnikiem wartości religijnych oraz w strukturze pieśni, w którą wpisani są nadawca i odbiorca wartości sacrum i sanctum. Wyniki analiz mogą stanowić podstawę do dalszych badań, szczególnie w zakresie recepcji pieśni oraz jej zastosowania praktycznego zarówno w pracy pedagogicznej, jak i wychowawczej, szczególnie w zakresie pedagogiki religijnej Oryginalność artykułu stanowi specyficzna perspektywa badawcza przyjęta w trakcie analiz materiału badawczego, którą jest hermeneutycznofenomenologiczne nastawienie badawcze autorki, a także całościowa analiza dzieła literacko-muzycznego jaką jest pieśń.
The article presents an overview and analysis of a research study of the repertoire of Polish religious songs after 1945. The article aims to present how the religious values of sacrum and sanctum are realized in them through the medium of linguistic and musical means of expression. The author also examines the categories of religious poetry as proposed by Maria Jasińska-Wojtkowska, and considers religious songs as multi-faceted acts of auto- and social communication. A phenomenological perspective adopted by the songs encourages holiness and acts of goodness through the pursuit of God – the supreme value. The article is an original text. Its goal is to demonstrate how the religious values of sacrum and sanctum are realized through the medium of linguistic and musical means of expression in Polish religious songs created after 1945. The author considers religious songs as multi-faceted acts of auto- and social communication. The methods employed by the author are analysis of song lyrics, as well as analysis of selected aspects of the musical component of the songs. The main results are as follows: the analyses reveal that the lyrics of the religious songs are imbued with the values of sacrum and sanctum, expressed through the choice of topics, the words and phrases used, and a type of poetics specific for sacrum. As a consequence, the songs provide vessels for religious values. Moreover, the structures of the songs are such that they include, as their inherent components, the author and the addressee of the values of sacrum and sanctum. The results of the analyses may be employed further as a basis for continued research, in particular in the following areas: reception of religious songs; practical applications of the reception of religious songs, both in pedagogical work and in the context of child education and socialization, especially in terms of religious upbringing and education. The songs encourage holiness and acts of goodness through the pursuit of God, the supreme value.
